Chapter 21: Void Sword Technique
Chapter 21: Void Sword Technique
Shen did not want to fall into such a lucrative trap. He had to be careful to not ruin his build because of this hidden class. A certain class needed a certain build of the stat.
"In exchange for your legacy, what do I need to do for you?" Shen asked the old man with a serious look on his face. There was no free food unless
Yosu had a surprised look upon hearing that from Shen's mouth. But then he realized why the young man asked that. He just told the young man his story, why he ended up in this remote village. It was not weird for the young man to assume that he wanted vengeance.
The old man shook his head, "I don't want you to do anything special for me. I just want the world to remember the name of Yosu. I want my sword technique to get buried in this place."
"That's it?" Shen could not believe that he could obtain a hidden class with the highest potential for free, "Why don't you do it by yourself?"
If it was another player, they would gladly accept the class without questioning the NPC. A class with Legendary potential, why would they be wishy-washy?
However, Shen did not regard NPC as an AI, he talked to them as they were real people. He did the same in the previous game. Since the others did not want to play with him, he relied on NPC. Thanks to the NPC that he could keep leveling up, taking quests even when he was alone.
"I am too old for worldly struggles, and I don't have much time left either. I stoned myself to prolong my life so I can find the fated one to inherit my legacy. Since fate brings you here and with your belief, I want you to inherit my legacy, and please bring out my legacy to the world. I want the world to know that a genius named Yosu is one of the best swordsman and also a Legend!" Yosu said that with a passion and longing on his face.
"Just that?" Shen was surprised as he was not expecting this. He thought the old man would give him some sort of impossible mission to get the legacy but he was not. The old man was basically asked to get stronger and become famous to spread the old man's name.
"Mnnn, I don't care about the Vyphrian Family or the Eternal Wind City. I just want my sword technique to be known by the world so my effort is not wasted," Yosu had a gentle smile as he told his thoughts to Shen.
'This is very doable. If I truly become the fastest player that no one can touch or catch me, I will be famous too,' Shen had no reason to refuse the legacy. No, he had to use this to his advantage since he was left behind in progress because of Volt.
'But wait a minute, is this a bug too?' He needed to be Level 20 before he could get a class. That was the requirement to get the class. He did not read a lot about the mechanical parts, but he was pretty sure to check the basics.
'Nah, I will know whether it is a bug or not by accepting the Legacy,' Shen was determined to accept the legacy.
If the NPC kept his word which most likely he would, Shen could determine whether it was a bug or not. Olympus would detect the bug and fix it immediately. That was what Sky claimed.
"I accept your legacy! I promise that I will do my best, I will let the world know that there is a genius swordsman called Yosu!" Shen accepted the legacy.
Yosu smiled and placed her two fingers on his forehead. Shen was quite nervous

The base status changed, a big change and Shen was pleasantly surprised with the change. His Agility rose from 10 to 30, and his Dexterity also rose from 10 to 45.
However, soon Shen furrowed his brow, he was sure that the old man was a Swordsman, 'But why Dexterity?' If a change was about to happen, he was sure that Strength and Agility was the main attribute for a swordsman, not Dexterity.
He was about to tap the skill to get more information out of the skill. Yosu coughed lightly and he immediately raised his head.
"I know you are excited to try out my sword technique, but before that, can I ask you two questions?" Yosu was more polite and casual. The tense and frustrated old man was gone.
"Ask away, Elder," Shen also became more respectful.
"What's your name, young'un? I want to know the name who has inherited my legacy," Shen immediately clapped his forehead. Because of the fright earlier that he forgot to introduce himself.
"My name is Runner," He almost said his real name, Yang Shen. However, soon he realized that he was in the game, and his name in the game was Runner.
"Quite a unique name," Yosu made a strange facial expression upon hearing the name, "My second question is, why did you take me as a ghost before? Do I look like a ghost to you?"
"I mean, you were just a statue before, now you have turned into a human. It looks like a ghost to me, of course," Shen explained his perspective.
"Don't you know about the stoned technique? It's a famous technique to prolong one life," Yosu explained to Shen with a confused expression, "The reason I did not ask you to avenge me is that there were a bunch of stone statues of their ancestors" the old man shook his head.
Bunch of stone statues, that meant the ancestors of the Vyphrian Family were still alive. Yosu indicated that he alone could not win against the Vyphrian Family.
"Alright, that's it. Now your job is to find the exit of this remote village. Good luck with your adventure, Runner," Yosu tapped Shen's shoulder a few times before the old man slowly walked to the statue's original position.
Shen then witnessed the old man's feet turned into stone. The stone spread toward the stomach, toward the neck, then toward his head. Yosu turned back into a stone statue.
