Chapter 115: Retired Doctor's Concern
Chapter 115: Retired Doctor's Concern
"You are right about that. That's what those trios are doing, working up to raise their stats so they can hunt the monsters." ZhenZhen pointed with her chin at Yue and Zhong, who were doing squats. "They have been grinding the stats for weeks."
Even though Lu Yao was new to the game, but he understood the basics. He furrowed his brows when he heard they were grinding stats instead of levels. From his understandings of the game, people were grinding levels to get stats, and each time a player leveled up, they got ten stat points.
'Things are different in here, huh?' Doctor Lu Yao turned back toward ZhenZhen. "You haven't told me how high-level monsters around here are?" He was now getting curious.
"The lowest one is level 30, but we can easily hunt level 32 monster with a simple trick. You need to ask Shen or Ming for that trick if you want to go hunt, but I advise you to work up to build up your stats if you want to go hunt." ZhenZhen explained.
The production class got exp from making items, but they could also go hunt. However, they got fifty percent less exp from hunting. That was why WealthyGuy and ZhenZhen decided to focus on the mastery of their class instead of hunting. They felt it was not worth the risk since they could die, and they did not have combat skills too, at that.
Lu Yao furrowed his brow when he heard that from ZhenZhen. The lowest monster was level 30, and that was shocking for sure. There was no way a level 1 player could hunt that high-level monster. He rubbed his chin and went through some calculations in his head.
It had been over two months, less than three months, since the game started. The other players were approaching the level 40 boundary, but what about the player in this village? Lu Yao found out that he was not lucky as he thought. It was nice to find the class he wanted, but it was useless if he could not develop his class.
With no one who could hunt the monsters around the village, he could not go out to search for the ingredients. The monsters would kill him if the monsters around the village were high-leveled monsters. The future in this village was not bright as he thought, and this was a big concern for him.
"There's no need to worry about that. Shen and Ming are level over 20, and they will soon catch up." ZhenZhen sensed the concern from the man in front of her and pointed her finger at Yue, Dale, and ZhongL. "I told you, right? We have a trick to hunting the level 32 monster. They just need to grind enough stats to kill level 32 monsters, and then the level should not be a problem for us."
"Also, we just need three more members to establish a tribe. By that time, the level should not be an issue for us. Doing tribe quest gives a lot of experiences." ZhenZhen assured the new member, and she understood the new members' concerns.
"What about us, the production class? We can't do anything if we don't have any materials or ingredients to work with." Doctor Lu Yao's concern was not relieved after hearing about the extreme condition around the village, even though ZhenZhen tried to assure him.
Sure, he got the class, a better class than the normal class. However, he had to pay it at a big price. He had to work harder to develop the class, and he did not take that positively, especially for a newbie like him.
"Don't worry about that. Shen often traveled outside, and he brought back a lot of stuff. You just need to tell him if you are looking for something specific. Even if he can't retrieve the thing by himself, he can mark the map and lead you to the place. The game developer will not put us in extreme conditions without a way out." ZhenZhen assured the doctor once again. She did not want the latter to restart the character, or else they could not establish a tribe.
"That's true. If you are looking for something specific, you can tell me the item's characteristics, and I will search for the item for you." Shen just came out of the house and overheard ZhenZhen and Doctor Lu Yao's conversation.
The two turned around and looked toward Shen. "Have you told him about our village's situation, Sister ZhenZhen?" Shen sat next to ZhenZhen, joining the two at the table.
ZhenZhen nodded her head. "I told him already, you are not angry, are you? You are waiting for him-" Shen cut her midway while shaking his head. "What do you take me for? A kid? Why would I be angry over something like this?" After saying that, Shen turned toward Doctor Lu Yao. "So, what your Master asks you to do, Doctor Lu Yao? Did he ask you to join our training too?"
"Training?" Doctor Lu Yao did not get what Shen tried to say, but he was quick to understand when Dale and ZhongL's rough breathing entered his ears. Working out must be part of the training.
"First, stop calling me doctor, I am not a doctor anymore." Lu Yao did not like being addressed as a doctor when he had retired. "You can call me Brother Lu, Brother Yao, or even Uncle Lu. I don't care, but not Doctor Lu Yao!" He deepened his voice, showing his dislike of being called a doctor.
Shen nodded his head, even though it was weird. If it were other people, they would like to be called a doctor since they got the title through hard work, and it seemed Doctor Lu Yao was an exception.
"Second, my Master did not instruct me to do the training or anything, and he just told me to meet him at the same time tomorrow." Lu Yao looked at the trio, who were working out. "Shall I work out too?" There was a hesitation in his tone.
"Personally, I advise you to join our workout. Even though your class is a production class, having more stats will do more favor than harm. Sister ZhenZhen, our cook, and Brother Jiang, our blacksmith, are also doing a workout at the start. Of course, the training is not as intense as the combat class, but it should be enough to raise your stats high enough to do a lot of stuff. For example, Endurance, you need to increase your Endurance so you will not get exhausted quickly." Shen explained the benefit of training, and he went on with the use of the Endurance and how stamina worked out in the game.
That was basic stuff every player should know. Doctor Lu Yao did not cut him midway, meaning the older man was willing to hear him. He continued how skill worked out. To use a skill, he would have to consume the stamina point and so on.
"Of course, you don't have to follow my advice." Shen grinned ear to ear as he scratched his hair. "I am the famous noob on the forum, after all. That's just my personal opinion, so you don't have to follow what I say."
