Chapter 84
Chapter 84: The Sacrifice and The Trigger (1)
“Get out!”
I was startled by the roar. It seemed like this person used almost all of his energy to shout furiously just now that it made him coughing non stop so badly. The voice came from a slightly opened door on my right. I tried to peek through the opening, but I couldn’t see the owner of the hoarse voice. All I could see was a woman was standing near a bed and someone was laying on it.
“Don’t waste your energy on me.” That melodious voice was also familiar to me. It sounded beautiful but at the same time I could feel the cold and malicious intent in the voice.
Was I too paranoid?
“Your parents had sold your body and soul to me. It’s only a matter of time for you to finally fulfill their wish. I am carrying your baby now, but too bad you won’t live long to see your child.” It was said in a very soft voice, like a mother cooing her baby. The only difference was it contained mockery, ridicules, and malicious intent in the soft voice.
And that was not all. As I heard it, my mind opened up one of my tightly locked box of memory. As the memory in it flooded my mind, my eyes widened as I realized who these people were.
Of course, I didn’t spend much time here, that was I only found it familiar but couldn’t recognize it right away.
.....
It was Senior Rizal’s house.
The last time I stepped inside this house, this house was crowded with people. How come it was so silent today?
“You’re devil!” It was Senior Rizal’s voice, a bit hoarse, but I knew it was him.
The one who was speaking to him must be Amanda. I was just about to shout to Senior Rizal to help me when the scene in front of me changed quickly.
Instead of still sitting in the living room, I was moved to the bedroom. I was standing beside the bed, while Amanda was standing on the other side.
I bet Senior Rizal couldn’t hear me or see me. It was useless for me to shout at him to help me.
“Rizal, just give it up. It will be better for you to accept me. That way, I don’t have to forcefully take your soul.” Amanda was still talking with her sweet voice.
If I didn’t know her personality well, I bet I would have been fooled by her, too. I would have believed in whatever she said.
“I have taken your ability to walk. I have taken the function of your arms. You’re like a doll, you are alive, yet you couldn’t move anymore. Should I take all of your senses?” Amanda sneered creepily.
Cruel!
My hands twitched and balled into a fist. Because of the building emotion I was experiencing, I failed to realize that I finally could move some parts of my body.
“You’re crazy, Amanda.” Senior Rizal shook his head. He was indeed only laying on his bed, looked helpless and powerless.
His body was getting thinner and there was a pair of dark circles around his eyes. His eyes looked like it was almost popping out from their sockets. He was glaring at Amanda, hatred and anger were obvious in his eyes.
He didn’t even bother to hide it, but instead showing it openly at his object of madness.
My heart thumped as I saw his condition. What exactly had he happened to him all these months?
“Rizal, Rizal, darling.” Amanda called him as if trying to appease his anger. In reality, she was only toying with him and Senior Rizal seemed to get used to it. As she lowered her head, I saw Senior Rizal frowned in disgust.
Amanda was probably sensing the disgust in him, Amanda chuckled then straightened her body before her soft chuckle turned into mad laughter not befitting of her elegant image.
“How about now?” Amanda wiped her face with her right hand.
I didn’t understand what she was doing, until I heard Senior Rizal called my name.
“Jane? What are you doing here? Go! That mad woman is looking for you. Go!” Fear and anxiety laced his voice. The same feeling could be sensed from his gaze. But, I was almost sure with one thing; he was hallucinating.
I didn’t know what trick she used to make her look like me, but it only worked for Senior Rizal. I couldn’t see any changes in her face, but the look in Senior Rizal’s eyes told me that he was indeed looking at me and not some impostors.
I frowned as I realized my face was used to trick other people. Not to mention the person who was tricked was Senior Rizal. I definitely needed to take into account of whatever she did.
“You always soften in front of this face, but always as hard as stone when you are with me.” Amanda sneered as she said it in whisper.
Why did I catch a trace of jealousy in her voice?
Out of nowhere, she smiled so sweetly it disgusted me to the point of making my stomach churned. She lowered her head and smiled even more when the previous disgust from Senior Rizal didn’t appear. Her hand caressed his hair gently.
“I’ll be okay. She had gone away for a while.” Amanda said. “I miss you, Senior.” The last sentence was said so lovingly.
“That’s not me!” I shouted, but my voice couldn’t reach them.
Senior Rizal’s gaze softened when he heard that. “I miss you, too, Jane. I still love you. I do.” He replied in a hoarse voice, almost like a whisper.
My eyes widened in shock as I heard him say that. My heart felt pity for him, but I really couldn’t do anything. I couldn’t talk to him, I couldn’t touch him to make him realize that I was here.
“You have no idea how much I regret leaving your side. You don’t know how much I hate my family and my wife for threatening me to leave you. They even spouted some bullshits like you could bring calamities to our family and something like that. That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard in my life. Even so, you still came here to visit me.” Senior Rizal added. His eyes were wet as he tried to hold back his tears.
All the while, I was stunned hearing his confession. He must be so desperate not to notice the bizarre situation. How could he say that to his wife?
“Jane, I know I am unforgivable. I don’t deserve your heart at all. But, please, don’t hate me. I still love you. I love you too much to the point I am willing to abandon my wife. They only need me to breed her, after all. Now that she is pregnant, I want to leave her. I don’t care about her and her baby. All I want is you. Alas, I suddenly couldn’t walk, as if I was crippled. I want to go to see you, but I can only lay on this stupid bed. Jane, promise me you wouldn’t cast me away, that you will give me a chance to mend our broken relationship. We don’t have to be lovers again, at least don’t push me away.” He was pleading desperately, only the one he was looking in the eyes straight was not me, but Amanda.
It was a lie if I said I was not moved or touched by his confession. I was tempted to say ‘it’s okay, I’m not angry anymore.’ but my voice was caught up in my throat. Deep in my heart, I had already promised myself to rescue him from this malicious woman.
I forgot that this malicious woman held a vital point in my rescue mission. The success of my mission depended on her.
“Ungrateful scum!”
Amanda gritted her teeth as her body emitted strong dark aura. Her eyes glazed with madness as she stood up and looked down on Senior Rizal who was startled with her.
“I really wanted to give you long live even if I had to compromise with your obsession of your ex. I am even willing to change myself to look like her only to please you! Who would have thought that you had that kind of thought inside your mind?!” She shouted in rage, unlike her calm self.
“If you can’t give your heart to me, might as well you don’t have one!”
A heart-wrenching cry then filled the room and my eyes widened in horror.
