Quests: Making A Team (part 10)

War between teams;

As soon as the other team left, Qiao and his team continued their journey.

It was not that Qiao had not sensed them early on, but he wanted to ignore and hurry up and leave. As long as he could reach the entrance of the Guild, he would be safe.

But the enemy can chase them easily if they were not careful enough, they were still half the distance away.

"You thought that taking this long path, you will be able to make a fool out of me," he heard a voice and turned. It belonged to the team leader who was keeping eyes on them from the very first day.

"If you don't bother us, I assure you that we don't need to make you" Qiao intentionally left the sentence incomplete, implying his threat. Since the enemy was here, he would not beg for mercy or be a coward.

After hearing his words if someone were to say that he was the king of infuriating others, then no one would claim otherwise. Qiao was learning to answer in a way that would make people mad immediately.

And sure enough he succeeded in his attempt.

The team leader felt blood surging in his eye balls and as soon as he understood the meaning behind the statement, he was fuming like a raged monster.

He was unable to keep his composure for long and broke yelling his lungs out.

"Who do you think you are? A mere level two has the nerve to spout nonsense? If I wish, I can kill your small chick team and you within a few breaths," he snapped the fingers of his hand with the gesture.

"I don't know if it's you who are speaking nonsense or giving me a threat. But believe me, there was someone before you who spoke the same words and now, he is no more breathing on this ground," Qiao waved his hand which was holding the weapon.

He gave a gesture to Linwin and Quipu, both who had already some understanding of the situation. Qiao had already discussed with them and given some pointers as to how they will face such situation.

"For brother's sake," Linwin raised his weapon yelled. Then he started to run in the opposite direction.

In the middle of the conversation, when they heard this sudden bout of yelling, they thought that the small team had decided to attack. They immediately got on alert but looked on as they were surprised. What was with this attack, the man ran in the opposite and in the blink of an eye disappeared from their vision.

They were shocked but then the leader laughed evilly, "Haha, you had only two team members and one of then ran away just now. So do you still think you can survive against us six?" the team leader was immensely happy now. There would be lesser trouble with lesser number of people to fight against.

"Only a pack of wolves think that they need that their victory depends on their numbers. Have you never heard that the lion hunts alone?" Qiao chuckled and then Quipu also madly ran away.

For a moment one would think that both the team members were coward that's why they ran away. But they were only away from their opponents vision, actually hiding and waiting for the gesture from the team leader.

So what if they were small in numbers, they had a sharp mind to plan and surprise the pack of wolves.

Qiao did not want to initiate any new enmity as still his first priority was to avoid conflict.

But if it there was no other way then no one can blame him.

When he was sure that Linwin and Quipu had hidden somewhere safely, he also started to run, his speed and agility were beyond imagination for this team. They never thought that someone can disappear so fast despite being level two.

It was because of his skill and immense practice.

The forest was thick and only someone who has practiced it well can run with this pace.

For some moments they cannot believe that the one who was claiming to be a lion ran away like a coward jackal, "Where did he go?" the team leader asked baffled. He was before them just seconds before.

The members of his team were also looking around searching for the youth carefully, as if they were looking for the path during a dark night.

"Don't stand idle, he will be around here. Search for him," he ordered them and they spread in every direction.

The leader was true that they could not have run too far.

He himself started looking around but the forest was not some small place where they could easily find someone. Even if they all chose one single direction and search around still they would take a month to search the left side of the forest.

"We ran madly ahead, but could not see locate anyone except few other teams who were busy in hunting and thinking we were intruders they tried to kill us," two team members returned back and related what happened to them.

"In a short moment where did they manage to disappear? Where are the others?" he was also tired after some time. His plan to teach the newbie a lesson failed now as he was thinking to go back to the Guild and try to look for this team some other day.

He was also thinking to talk to one or two more teams whose interests were at the stake in this team competition. They would surely join hands with them in hunting this team.

Though it would be embarrassing to ask for help against a small team but what they can do counter these sharp and shameless youths.

They thought to quit the search and go back in the Guild.

When they reached the Guild, they were amazed to see the shameless youth sitting in the front of the Guild hall and ignoring him.

The team leader just didn't know how he wanted to vent out his frustration. How long they have been searching them and they were sitting in the Guild as if nothing happened.

He convulsed with the anger but could not do anything in the periphery of the Guild.

He would surely surround this team tomorrow with more teams and then see how this youth can claim to be a lion. Damn, such a sharp and shameless lion.

He smashed his hand against a desk in anger.
