Quests: Making A Team (part 2)

War between teams;

They still had their spoils on themselves, which was a bit worrying for them. It would be unwise if they continued this way or else being ambushed by others would happen sooner or later.

For safety measures, they had to either use them or submit it in the Guild account.

With this concern, Linwin and Quipu came to Qiao's abode.

They could not talk about it in the open, as they were afraid of being overheard.

"Brother do you have any suggestions?" Linwin asked out of habit.

Qiao gestured them to sit, "There are two options; whether we should submit our spoils in the Guild bank or buy good quality weapons or whatever we need. As it is understood that roaming around with spoils on person can be dangerous," he spoke.

"What is your opinion then?" Quipu asked Qiao.

"I am going to use up all my spoils to buy a good weapon," he spoke determined. In his eyes this was the most pressing issue. Since he had become the leader of the team, he could not let down others. And the need of excellent weapon could not be neglected.

If he cannot be the strongest in the team, how could he possibly face others.

"Then we will also buy better weapons," both spoke in unison.

Qiao was amazed and nodded, "Alright, we will go and buy weapons before going for Quest tomorrow," he looked at them and the nodded. After discussing few more things, Linwin and Quipu went to their abodes but Qiao was not thinking to rest. He had much more spoils with him and he was not going to take any risk even though he could lock the door of the abode for security.

He was sure that he could buy a level five weapon or minimum a level four with his available source.

....

Early morning, they gathered together to plan how they were going to proceed. Other teams who were waiting for their turn to get quest looked at the newbies and questioned each other. They had never seen them here before which means they were newly registered.

In this Guild, there was an unsaid rule that only level three chaser can lead a team of their own. Although it wasn't enforced by the Guild, it was agreed upon by many.

A team leader looked at Qiao and went toward the table and asked, "If there is any new registration, send the newbie to my team. I lack a team member right now," he looked at Qiao and asked the reception man.

He happened to notice this youth with a strange aura of confidence. He wanted to know where this youth came from by getting him in his team.

Qiao was currently vary of his surrounding as he knew being a newbie here could be troublesome. If he observed them and their actions for too long, they might take it as offensive.

He only had to take one more step and he would be level two and continue his level up journey toward level three.

This feeling of getting stronger was unmatchable, he simply cannot define it in words. He was sure if he returned back to his world in his present strength, that gym bully would not be able to do anything to him anymore.

But the most important thing right now was to digest this sense of strength and not become overly arrogant. Most chasers in the Guild like to brag about by glaring at newbies or low-level chasers.

This was a trait of being a human to look down upon others.

But if they focus on themselves to further level up rather than troubling others, it was possible that many would be able to reach higher levels steadily. But it was pity that most of the chasers got killed because they cannot hide or digest their increasing strength and often offend someone more powerful.

"That guy has registered as a team leader, I will let you know if there is any new entry," the reception man glanced toward the youth and answered this team leader.

"What? He has his own team as a level two or no, not even level two yet," he waved his hand in disbelief.

He was more than shocked, but looking at the dull reaction of the reception man he confirmed it and returned to his team.

There were many strong teams in this Guild and even few who had a level five team leaders.

Slowly the news spread to other teams that there was another team in the Guild now.

These teams were mainly organized according to their own set of rules among the teams and it had nothing to do with Guild. But there was a team competition that was something which was held by the Guild.

The Guild wanted to nourish stronger chasers and hunters by giving then tough quests sometimes or holding competitions.

It was to avoid the chaotic situation where everyone claimed his team as best. And as it was impossible for the Guild to provide special treatment and quests, such methods were applied by Guild to determine the strong teams.

These teams were the actual face of the Guild and the Guild would not be taking risk by giving opportunity to the losers or weak ones.

The competition was right next month and giving some newbies a new team slot, would this not it make the other stronger teams get riled up.

"I don't know what the Guild actually want from us," a chaser shrugged his shoulders, he wanted to focus on his team and not some newbies.

Also, he could not be bothered with every small fry that came around.

"May be the Guild is not going to give them a chance in the first place," another one spoke out, after all to fight for the Guild name was something related to their honor and Guild would not allow anyone to tamper on the name.

Qiao was indifferent about their concern even if he was told about competition. He would not bother with it either because to get a slot was not his mark. He was only here to level up and get stronger than the wicked hunter.

He was sure if he told all these hunters about his target, they might laugh at him. Yet he was pursuing a path which they cannot even think in their dreams, still they wanted to hinder him for some petty things.

But who would tell these teams that they should not bother any random newbie that they encountered, because it would not turn out exactly good for them in this case.

Usually it was normal but if they bothered some specific one, they might regret later.

Or there was no one to warn about what happened with the team who tried to bully noob.

Qiao was then called to the desk and handed a small paper. The quest was written on it and for their safety purpose, the reception man did not utter it in front of others.

Qiao picked the paper and left the Guild with his team members, their direction was not the forest.
