Chapter 15: A Level Zero's Struggle (6)
A Level Zero's Struggle (part 6)
Since it did not shatter, it was enough to give a slap to these chasers.
Qiao almost completely utilized his strength in this one strike. He delivered as much a hard blow as he could. The level three weapon actually gave a slight injury to the monster and baffled monster threw the brawler aside. Just like the chasers, the monster was also stunned.
It never anticipated that a brawler would be this ferocious.
Qiao fell back on the ground but he was not empty handed, this attack alone gave him a hundred points due to the fact that the abdomen was the weakest part of this monster and the weapon used for this attack was level three.
It could have given fifty more experience if Qiao had been level one, an equal to the monster.
Qiao was happy inside, despite using his strength in the attack, he was not feeling used up.
The sudden increase of the hundred points immediately strengthened his dexterity and the ground did not hurt him as much. He stood up and stepped back from the range limit of the monster.
The range limit was what can be described as the ability of the monster's body to react and reach a near object, chaser or enemy in shortest time possible with its big stature.
The chasers were looking goofy now, "Why are you standing there like goons, are you waiting for him to snatch our hunt?" the leader could no longer hide his intentions. He was already at his tether ends to see the brawler taking advantage of their situation and attacking the monster.
Now the question was whether to shoo away the brawler first or kill the monster? What if the brawler again tried to steal opportunity?
Should they kill him first? But he immediately put away the idea as right now the monster was raging and it wasn't possible to deal with the brawler together with the monster.
The leader instructed his underlings to work fast with the hunt else they would become laughing stock of history that a brawler snatched their hunt and earned all the experience points.
Qiao could understand their frustration. It seemed to having two tokens was not a bad idea.
It made the other people underestimate his actual abilities and he could pose to be weaker when he was actually stronger than what people believed.
Moreover, if he had not taken the initiative to steal the opportunity, would they have given him any chance out of goodness?
That was entirely out of question.
So he had to act for his share, right?
The chasers surrounded the monsters and did not leave a path for the brawler to interfere during their hunt again.
The monster was ready to tear apart the brawler but the chasers were not letting out an opening. It struggled to break their circle but every time they came up to attack and got some minor points. But as the monster did not let them directly attack the injured abdomen, they were struggling to finish it off.
The leader was not satisfied.
And their chances to get near were getting less.
If they reached too near, they might not be able to stand a direct blow of the level one monster with its huge body.
Due to a small distraction, the monster was able to attack one of the chaser who was weakest of all.
They barely saved his body from getting maimed.
Sometimes, it was not just about levels difference, to face a monster, a hunter or chaser should have right amount of determination else, in actual hunt, it was hard to maintain when looking a giant monster nearing over their head.
Guts
It was called guts.
The giant body of the monster can easily overpower a hunter making them lose their will to fight.
The other chasers started shouting vulgarities. Now the leader had to get serious. He instructed them to distract the attention of the monster and he would attack the monster right in the abdomen.
The first attack of the brawler was successful so there was high chance that the second attack would let them complete the hunt.
But the monster had also set its target on the leader this time. It was because this chaser constantly attacked and gave several injuries and was the strongest of them all.
Qiao was standing a bit away, looking over the fight. He had to see whether he could find opportunity once more. Or if these chasers were going to chase after him. It was necessary for him to know and if he did not stay, he might not be able to know this.
While acting on the advice of the leader two chasers tried their best to hold back the monster.
They produced a weird pitch from their mouth which resembled a firefly cooing. They thought that it would distract it. But the monster did not like it. It was currently facing enemies and got injured, how it could possibly bear these chasers mocking its situation.
It seemed they were making fun of its present condition.
The monster covered the distance without giving a warning all of a sudden and dragged one of the chaser in the muddy ground with its front little long legs.
During this while leader was ready to attack, he was also angry at the brawler and thought to vent out all the anger in this attack. The more aggressive his attack was, more the chances for him to get the lead in this hunt. As one of the chaser already died probably.
