My Journey to Godhood as a Caterpillar

Chapter 95: Brother

Chapter 95: Brother

Both Yun Jhin and Luo Shang complied with the instructions of the female recruiter which was named Yui Yanchen.

It didn't take them much time to fully exploit the formation and learn all of its blind spots, after all, there wasn't such a thing as a perfect formation.

And both of them were old monsters who had seen countless formations in their lives, even though they weren't people that dabbled into formations, Yun Jhin had a lot of experience under his belt due to the number of reincarnations he went through and Luo Shang just had the critical eye of a former peak God Realm expert that let him see through all the weakness of a formation below the godly level.

Yun Jhin and Luo Shang were given the same room as they were the last ones to arrive at the camp, Yun Jhin silently transmitted his thoughts to Luo Shang so even if someone tried to intercept their telepathy session they wouldn't be able to hear anything:

"Luo Shang, there is one way we can kill that woman, but it will be hard considering she should be able to fly and create ki weapons, I have a formation here that we can use in tandem with theirs to absorb all of the ki in the surroundings to boost our battle power to the point we can kill her together, afterward killing the others should be a piece of cake."

Luo Shang eyes widened as he felt the information coming to his brain, he then gave out a small smile as he transmitted back:

"Aren't you devious? I see why everyone in the mortal realm hated you back then to the point that they wanted to search for you even on your deathbed, ah such beautiful stories my brother used to tell me..."

At the mention of his brother his muscles tightened as veins appeared over his face, his eyes turned a deep scarlet but this transformation reverted rather quickly, he looked around and took a deep breath as he said:

"Sorry for the outburst, but being near his descendants combined with this horrid smell, I can feel his bloodline everywhere and I cannot control myself while we are alone."

Yun Jhin closed his eyes as he meditated ignoring him, as long as he controlled himself while he was with others he didn't care what he did or said, he was his superior in battle power and he couldn't do anything about it.

Yun Jhin left his guard open but Luo Shang knew that if he tried to even more a little bit forward to loop his head off from his shoulders he would find himself in an extremely precarious position.

He couldn't help it, he was his underling right now and he was a former peak God Realm expert, he hated himself for falling into his trap even though he was the former peak overlord of the dark faction, the lord of the Blood Throne!

By the time he was born Yun Jhin was dying so he didn't see his cruelty and power with his eyes, he heard countless stories about him but he thought that they were inflated to make him look scarier.

Yun Jhin's left eye opened as he looked at Luo Shang who was contemplating and told him in a bone-chilling tone that left shivers down his spine:

"Don't mistake my kindness for weakness Luo Shang, I only let you live because you are useful, you already gave me your cultivation technique, you might have more information that could be useful for me but I could end you right now, do you understand?"

Cold sweat dripped from Luo Shang's forehead, his life flashed past his eyes as he looked directly on Yun Jhin's opened eye, he could feel an innate fear from his soul, this was the fear one had from a stronger creature!

This didn't have anything to do with bloodline or physical power, Yun Jhin's experience from his thousands of lifetime condensed into an aura that could paralyze those that were below his cultivation base for a few brief seconds, experience combined with cultivation created a monster that could intimidate others just by looking at them!

Luo Shang didn't go through the usual problems of those that were born normally, he was a prized son of the heavens as he was born at the God Realm and easily advanced through levels while he grew, he was one of those people that Yun Jhin envied the most in some of his previous lives, he still hated these type of beings, he slaughtered them every time he could see them, he drank their blood and ate their flesh as if it was the best delicacy, he spat onto their dead faces as they were favored by the universe which hated him!

Yun Jhin closed his left eye and went back to meditation, he needed to prepare himself for the fight that would come and he needed to be at full power to deal with someone so far ahead of him in cultivation.

Yun Jhin and Luo Shang left their barracks as soon as they heard the voice of the recruiter, they were then trained for a few more days before they were going to the war zone.

Along the way, they went through plains and a few cities, finally, they reached a forest where Yun Jhin felt that they could use the formation to it's fullest potential.

He stopped for a few seconds and the recruiter asked him what was the problem Yun Jhin motioned with his hand for her to get closer and she did, suddenly runic formations appeared around Yun Jhin and Luo Shang, those runic formations combined with the whole formation of the King Realm experts and took ahold of its power as the ki that was in the surroundings started to fill both Yun Jhin and Luo Shang.

Luo Shang breathing went rough as he broke through the 2nd stage and almost to the 3rd stage of the King Realm, Yun Jhin ignored him, the breakthroughs would affect his foundation as they were done with inferior ki, however, he still kept an eye out if he tried to do something fishy.

Yui Yanchen knew something was up with these two the moment they stopped, the other King Realm experts tried to see what was happening but their knees went numb with weakness as they could feel that their ki was sapped, their physical forms were crumbling as they fell to their knees and couldn't move.

Yui Yanchen's eyes widened in surprise as she looked around and suddenly both Yun Jhin and Luo Shang disappeared!

She watched as her whole unit of King Realm experts disappeared in her face, their bodies just ceased to exist like they were gobbled up by a gigantic beast, Yun Jhin body almost expanded as he ate so many King Realm experts along with their souls, he could feel his soul mending itself at quick speeds as it reached 10% of his former capabilities then stopped there as his cultivation was hindering it from growing further.

He would need time to digest all of the bodies but if he did well he would be able to break through the 5th stage of the King Realm and refine his next jewel for quite a bit, this wasn't taking into account that he would eat the Emperor Realm expert as well!

Yui Yanchen immediately created a ki sword and went ahead to slice and kill both Yun Jhin and Luo Shang, however, their speed was tremendous even making her flinch, but she could follow them with her eyes and if her eyes faltered she had other senses!

Her ki sword started to rotate at a high speed as she threw one and created another trying to pin them under it and then deal them the finishing blow.

Yun Jhin could dodge the swords but Luo Shang didn't have as much experience and he was still digesting the changes done to his new body.

Sword slashed on his body and blood fell to the ground slowing him, Yun Jhin watched along and Luo Shang cursed at him:

"Protect me you piece of shit!"

Yun Jhin gave him a small smile and decided to give him a helping hand in this situation, he still had his uses.

Yun Jhin disappeared and appeared above the woman's head only to have his crotch grazed by the ki sword, he almost lost his little brother there!

Yun Jhin's body unconsciously started to emit cold sweat as he watched her actions with narrowed eyes, he needed to predict where she would launch her swords and then lop off her head and eat her soul!

Yun Jhin fell quickly to the ground as lightning fell from his hands towards the woman, however, the woman absorbed the lightning with her ki sword which turned it into a deep purple, the sword absorbed Yun Jhin's lightning and increased it's speed as it narrowly grazed his cheek drawing out blood.

Yun Jhin put a finger on his cheek and the wound disappeared afterward, then his went limp as his eyes glazed over.

The sword from Yui Yanchen was centimeters away from decapitating him but he suddenly cocked his head to the side making it miss by a centimeter.

Yui Yanchen's eyes widened in horror as she looked down at her stomach, she could feel Yun Jhin's hand going through it and clenching her innards, she wanted to scream, she wanted to do anything but if Yun Jhin moved even a millimeter her innards would explode and kill her instantly!

She knew she failed but she wanted to live, she wanted to!

All living beings had the innate instinct of living, no one wanted to die a premature death, especially cultivators who pursued the oh so elusive eternal life.

She wanted to say anything to stop Yun Jhin's actions, but before Yun Jhin could kill her Luo Shang appeared behind her and decapitated her using his hand as a sword!

Yun Jhin lifeless gaze turned over her body and it slowly disappeared, just like all of the other bodies of the King Realm experts he was absorbing her using the first innate skill of his crown's jewel, her soul shuddered and tried to escape away from him but it was fruitless, Yun Jhin's soul was gigantic even though wounded and not fully whole it was a soul of a titan!

Such a soul grabbed the small soul of Yui Yanchen and slowly took it to his transparent mouth, then a crunch could be heard as her head was eaten, then along with the rest of the body, Yui Yanchen died and lost all hopes of reincarnation.

Yun Jhin's soul body glowed and the glow remained on it, he could use the energy from her soul to mend his incomplete soul more but for that he would have to first increase his cultivation base, in the King Realm he could at most gain 15% of his former soul powers.

Yun Jhin eyes turned back to Luo Shang and there was the same feeling of oppression he felt from before, suddenly his hand went directly to his cheek as he was slapped, he flew for a few meters hitting trees along the way and Yun Jhin said:

"Who told you, you could give her the finishing blow?"

Luo Shang vomited a mouthful of blood and teeth as he got up from the ground and jumped back to Yun Jhin's location, his eyes were full of hatred and puzzlement, why would Yun Jhin care about who gave out the final blow?

Yun Jhin saw that his eyes were questioning his actions so he decided to be nice for once and explained to him:

"You mustn't have killed many people when you had your former body right?"

Luo Shang nodded his head

Yun Jhin gave him a pitying look as if he was looking at a wounded animal, Luo Shang didn't like that gaze at all, his eyes turned red as his muscles inflated, his form turned back to his normal one as he shouted:

"THAT GAZE, THAT GAZE!!! WHY ARE YOU LOOKING AT ME LIKE MY BROTHER!"

Yun Jhin gave a swift kick to his head which made him faceplant into the ground, a gigantic crater 20 meters in diameter appeared as Luo Shang almost went unconscious, Yun Jhin grabbed him by the hair and made him look right into his eyes as he said:

"Dealing the finishing blow on a cultivator steals their destiny, do you understand me? As a fellow former peak God Realm expert you should understand what I mean..."

Destiny, the thing that one needed the most when one cultivated, luck was only secondary or even tertiary, the most important thing would be destiny, even with a weak body it could be improved to a certain extent if you had destiny on your side, Yun Jhin was cultivating a technique that could steal the destiny of those he killed and absorbed, but for him to fully absorb someone's destiny he would have to be the one who dealt the final blow.

The fortuned constitutions weren't anything but an immense accumulation of destiny on the person, it was a blessing of the universe, the same could be said about the fortuned cultivation beats, regardless if it was man or beast, being blessed with a fortuned constitution meant the universe dotted on you as it's darling!

Technically speaking it was impossible to gain the fortuned constitution by killing those that had it, it was also impossible for one to kill billions or trillions of people and absorb their destiny to gain it, Yun Jhin tried, but he was stopped by the righteous forces, he couldn't go on a mass killing spree as mortals and the lower cultivators were the cornerstones of future cultivators.

However that didn't stop him from creating this technique and going on a killing spree, even though in the end he was repelled and wounded in the process he gained quite a lot of destiny, that's why everything went alright for him regardless of what he did, combined with his intellect and sharp wits nothing could go wrong for him. His immense destiny that he robbed in his countless reincarnations was currently brewing in his soul keeping him safe from harm, however, if he went directly in the harm's way he could still die, destiny just made sure he would be able to implement his plans.

Yun Jhin sighed as Luo Shang calmed himself, the man was very temperamental and the hatred for his brother ran deep, after all, it was the man which sealed him.

Yun Jhin left him to drop to the ground as he looked around, he felt that something wasn't right, the ground below them started to crack as it fell, Yun Jhin tried to grab Luo Shang and leave but he felt a suction force coming down from the ground.

Luo Shang was almost unconscious from the kick to the head but his eyes widened in anger and hatred as he looked down at the cracked ground that was trying to absorb them:

"YOU PIECE OF SHIT? WHAT DID YOU LEAVE HERE?"

It seemed unknowingly both Yun Jhin and Luo Shang had wandered to the place of the tomb where the Yin dragon of light rested, Bumi Ming!
