My Goalkeeping System

Chapter 434 Wasn't That Much

When Catherine said that things were about to get interesting, well she was onto something.

Now that Roland was no longer on the pitch, Fraser was beginning to run riot on the right side of the pitch.

He received the ball from Antonio just as Jonas was heading toward him, but just before the left-back could do anything to stop him, he trapped the ball with his chest and sent it flying over the left-back with a neat flick.

"Wooah!"

That could have ended badly for Unique FC if Pirlo had not been fast enough to brush the ball off the winger's feet and send it out for a corner kick.

"Nice defending from Pirlo, but now they have a corner kick to deal with," Steve commented.

'If things continue like this we may end up conceding a goal?'

<Yeah, I can see that happening>

'Coach should have at least kept Roland, I don't really feel that confident about keeping a clean sheet with Jonas on the pitch.'

Antonio was standing over the ball now waiting for the referee's whistle while the rest of the players ran around near and inside the box.

After making sure that everything was ready, the referee blew his whistle, and without hesitation, Antonio sent the ball flying in.

The ball was sent flying in right toward the center of the box where Pirlo managed to get his head on it and nod it away from the box.

Unfortunately, the ball fell toward Conrad who didn't waste any time in firing it toward the goalpost while Dave was still a bit disoriented.

"Conrad!"

The striker fired the ball toward the top right-hand side of the goalpost while Dave was still glued to a spot but luckily the ball ended up hitting the post before flying right out into the box.

"Woodwork comes to the rescue!"

Dave dived toward the ball while it was still in the air, but Fabinho was already on it before he could get to it, and without hesitation, he headed the ball toward the goalpost.

However, the ball ended up bouncing on the floor before hitting the crossbar once again.

"Oh, no it's the woodwork again!"

The ball was rolling toward the right side now as Dave quickly rushed toward the goalpost.

Jonas quickly rushed toward Fraser who was heading toward the ball at this time, but the winger was able to get his foot on the ball first, and without hesitation, he fired the ball toward the goalpost.

It seemed like it was a curse at this point as the ball ended up hitting the crossbar before flying over for a goal kick.

"Oh, another woodwork hit."

"Three woodwork hits in three consecutive shots, that's really insane, one of those should have at least gone in." Steve articulated.

"Yeah seems like Villarreal were pretty unlucky and Unique FC got really lucky."

'That was insane.' Dave said subconsciously as he slowly walked up to the edge of the line inside the box to drop the ball.

<You had no idea what you were doing>

'Well how was I supposed to, everything was moving way too fast.' He replied. 'I'm just glad the woodwork came through for us when we needed it the most.'

He slowly took three steps backward before he closed up on the ball and sent it flying in toward Edward.I think you should take a look at

Edward neatly brought the ball down with his feet, and just before Antonio could get to him from behind, he sent the ball rolling to Martinez who quickly pushed it a little further toward Harry.

"Harry."

Harry slowly took off down the right with the ball, and just before one of the defenders could close him down from the left, he sent the ball rolling to Carlos who immediately took off down the wing with it.

The winger had the left back hot on his trail, but just before he could move past the line with the ball, he quickly turned with it, and the defender who was unable to stop himself on time kept running until he got to the barricade which he used to stop himself.

With the defender now out of the way, Carlos quickly entered the box with the ball but he had two players right on his path so he quickly pushed the ball to Gregory who was right at the edge of the box.

"Gregory."

As soon as the young striker got his foot on the ball, he quickly evaded the defender right in front of him with a body feint to create shooting space for himself down the middle, and without hesitation, he fired the ball toward the goalpost.

"Gregory fires!"

The young striker did pretty well in stretching Jeremy but he should have stretched him a little further because the goalkeeper was able to get just the tip of his glove on it and send it rolling out for a corner kick.

"Oh, nice save from Jeremy, pretty good strike from Gregory."

"And now they have a corner kick to deal with."

Looks like Edward was going to be the one taking this one as he could be seen standing over the ball waiting for the referee's whistle.

"They're already comfortable being two goals up, but can they add a third one?"

After making sure that everything was ready, the referee blew his whistle, and now it was time to see how well Edward could set someone up from a corner kick.

He sent the ball flying in toward the center of the pitch, but the elevation was too much for those there to get their head on it but it ended up sloping just as it got toward Gregory who quickly got his head on it before anyone could stop him.

"Gregory!"

It was a low header but his accuracy was a bit off as the ball ended up bouncing off from the side for a goal kick.

"Oh, another close call from Gregory."

After seeing another effort of his go to waste, the young striker shook his head and let out a sigh before slowly moving back to his side.

The match continued with both teams being at each other's necks most of the time, but none of them had been able to get anything out of it.

Fraser was finding it easy to get past Jonas at first, but slowly the left back started to adapt until Fraser wasn't getting past him that easily again, still, what he was doing was nothing compared to how Roland held the left back down.

The match continued till the ninetieth minute with Villarreal still unable to pull one back, and now that they were in the third minute of five minutes of added time, they won a free kick in a pretty good spot.

Fraser was standing over the ball now with his gaze on Unique FC's four-man wall.

"It's pretty much over, there's no way this can save them, but perhaps they can salvage a goal from it."

The referee made sure that everything was ready before he blew his whistle, and now it was over to Fraser.

The winger let out a sigh before he slowly took three steps backward, and after that, he quickly closed up and fired it toward the goalpost.

He over-hit that by quite a lot as the ball ended up flying over the bar from the right side.

As soon as the ball went over, the referee blew his whistle thrice to bring the match to an end. As soon as Fraser heard the whistle he slowly sat down on the floor with his hands on his face.
