Chapter 23
C23 – Hard and Soft!
“No way, absolutely not! How can someone with an Elemental Spirit be placed in Class D? If the principal gets wind of this, it’ll be the end of me!” the teacher responsible for Bo Miaojiao’s awakening declared emphatically.
It’s incredibly rare for an Elemental Spirit to emerge, and now that we have one, if the principal discovers I’ve assigned such a prodigy to Class D, I’d likely be fired on the spot in a fit of rage!
“Look, the computer system list is shared, and no one’s noticed my situation yet. With all the awakening teachers here, if you and I keep quiet, it’ll stay under wraps. Please, I’m begging you…” Bo Miaojiao implored in a hushed tone.
Currently, there are over a dozen teachers overseeing awakenings, all drawn to the formation where the ice spirit is being awakened.
By chance, Bo Miaojiao’s awakening formation is tucked away in the left corner, while the ice spirit’s formation is in the opposite corner. Right now, practically no one has realized that Bo Miaojiao has awakened the fire spirit.
And since the teachers use a communal computer system list, it’s impossible to track which teachers have awakened which candidates. They simply follow the list, one by one, and mark a check in the system next to the examinee’s name once the ceremony is complete.
“Still… it’s out of the question. I cannot allow you to be in Class D!” the teacher in charge said with finality.
Bo Miaojiao’s brow furrowed as she slowly turned to glance at Qin Hongyu below the stage. Seeing his unwavering gaze fixed on her, her resolve only strengthened.
If this teacher won’t budge, then I have no choice but to resort to drastic measures.
“Teacher, if you refuse to let me join Class D, then I’ll have no choice but to drop out of the Martial Exam at Sacred Heart Academy. To my knowledge, Deepfell isn’t limited to just one middle-class Battle Spirit Academy. And before I withdraw, I’ll be sure to inform the principal that your poor attitude is the reason for my profound disappointment with your institution, forcing my hand to exit the Martial Exam. Then… what do you think the principal will do to you?”
Bo Miaojiao’s voice took on an uncharacteristically stern edge as she spoke in a cold tone.
She had realized that this teacher responded to strength rather than gentleness. Despite maintaining a composed exterior, she was incredibly anxious inside; after all, this was her first time resorting to threats.
And she wasn’t threatening just anyone—this was a teacher responsible for awakening Elemental Spirits at the Battle Spirit Academy. It was natural for her to feel nervous.
The awakening teacher lapsed into silence, wiping the cold sweat from his brow before finally gritting his teeth and conceding, “Fine! I agree to your terms!”
He was well aware of the consequences if the principal discovered that his actions had driven away an examinee who had awakened an Elemental Spirit from Sacred Heart Academy. Such a blunder could very well cost him his position.
Admission to Class D was certainly a better outcome than being sent to another academy.
Considering her talent, any other academy would undoubtedly invest heavily in her development, turning her into a formidable rival for his own institution.
With this in mind, and after much deliberation, he acquiesced to Bo Miaojiao’s demand. His hand shaking, he reached for the pen on the table and, in the class recommendation section, he wrote “Class D.”
