Learned Passive Skill: Parry
Learned Passive Skill: Parry
Sometime later the five of them were seated at the table in John's room.
Tanelia had asked the cooks to send over some food and they were all eating while chatting about Thasinia's theory.
"So here is my question, why does hunger not show up in my status panel if it's something I need to keep an eye out for? I mean HP is there." John asked.
"To make Genesis more realistic." Thasinia said before continuing.
"While Genesis was originally designed to be a place for the races or just individuals to fight when diplomacy would not work, Tia of course expanded it into a completely second world for us all."
"Now as a second world it needs a certain level of realism while still fundamentally being a game."
"If it was as realistic as the real world we are sitting in now then why would anyone want to play it? With HP bars and stats people can take greater risks and grow stronger in ways they can't in Atlantia."
"However, to keep the realism, certain aspects such as hunger, thirst, holding your breath when you swim underwater are hidden and you have to listen to your character body's feedback to learn when the body needs something."
"However, as you have seen once the specific need reaches eighty percent Genesis will notify you and then it is up to the individual if they fix the issue or in your case die."
Eventually they were all full and so the elves decided they would go do their own thing while John went back into Genesis to test out Thasinia's theory.
Knowing that he would be there the rest of the night John decided to sync back into Genesis on his bed so after lying down he spoke
"Genesis Sync"

John opened his eyes to find himself still in the graveyard he logged out in before trying to get his bearings as he was not sure where the graveyard was in the starting village.
After looking around he saw smoke rising up into the sky and figured it must be the forge, so he headed in that direction where he found a gate that allowed him to leave the graveyard and re-enter the main part of the town.
After a few minutes he reached the square near the town entrance and headed back towards the weapons hall.
Inside the weapons hall he found the place completely deserted so he went up to the Wooden Man Post he used before and resumed his training.
As before he lost himself in the moment and six hours later his vision turned black with the notifications.
[You have died]
[Unable to lose a level as you are level 0]
[Because you died in the stater village you will not suffer the 24-hour logout penalty or have any of your stat points reduced]
[Re-spawning at the closest Re-spawn sight]
A moment later John's vision came back and after checking his notifications he saw similar notifications to the last time, minus the messages from Genius Silver Scientist.
John cleared his messages before he once again made his way back to the weapons hall and continued training.
After a couple of hours, the trainers returned and were surprised to see John still practicing at the same post.
"Has he seriously been going all night?" The elf said in shock.
"Apparently so." Giz'riner said.
However, before any of them could decide if they should interrupt him since it had been all night, they saw John stop on his own with a large smile on his face.
Over at John's side the projection had just disappeared before a notification window showed up.
[Defense Training Complete]
[Learned Passive Skill: Parry]
[Parry: A skill that gives you the chance to parry a melee or ranged attack made against you. A successful parry nullifies the attack received.]
"Yes." John said happily.
""However, it seems I did not complete the un-armed training but defense training, though I did not get a reward or hidden quest notification." John wondered out loud.
"Hey kid have you been here all night?" John heard a voice from behind him so looking round he saw Giz'riner heading over to him.
"Pretty much." John confirmed.
"Wow not bad, though since you finally stopped, I am guessing the projection disappeared because you learned to parry well enough?"
"Yup, now its time to move onto attacks." John said with a smile before moving towards one of the empty circles he saw individuals practicing punches and kicks yesterday.
"Don't you think it's a good idea to rest first? I mean you have been at it all night." Giz'riner asked.
"Nah I'm fine, I still have plenty of energy." John said, swinging his arm before he entered the empty circle and all the sound disappeared again.
[You have earned the respect of the trainers at Yesta Village Weapons Hall because of your dedication to training.]
[You have an increased reputation in Yesta Village and are more likely to receive quests from its residents.]
John was surprised when the notifications came up as he had no idea Genesis had a reputation system.
Waving away the notification John focused his attention on the projection of a human that just appeared and was not performing a basic punch.
John started to practice the different moves the projection performed and lost himself in the training again not noticing when he received a message.
Around four hours later the now expected notifications appeared as John's vision went blank.
[You have died]
[Unable to lose a level as you are level 0]
[Because you died in the stater village you will not suffer the 24-hour logout penalty or have any of your stat points reduced]
[Re-spawning at the closest Re-spawn sight]
The other players who had been training in the training hall noticed that the only human in Yesta Village suddenly disappeared in a glow of light which signaled his body was sent for re-spawn.
"Wait, am I seeing things or did the human just die from training?" Asked a Satyr.
"No, I saw it too, he must have died from hunger, did he not bother with the notification about his hunger level?" Replied an Elf.
The players continued to poke fun at John before an instructor shouted.
"Oi get back to training, maybe you could learn something from Vincarna"
"Learn what? How to keel over and die." Replied a fairy causing the other players to laugh."
"What are you talking about, now get back to training."
Eventually they all went back to training when they noticed all the trainers scowling at them.
