Chapter 113 - Why Did You Do That?
"You don't have to know about that. Enjoy your meal by yourself. I have some important things to do so unfortunately I can't join you," Jackson said before he turned and walk away. He did not even wait for Kai to utter a word.
The two overbearing individuals left the poor Kai all confused with the way they acted.
Outside the restaurant, Jackson stood and stared at the spot he left Jasmine's car before he went into the restaurant earlier.
Goddamn! Instead of wasting my time talking to him I should have just run after her but now look at what has happened, she left with anger in her heart for me.
Jackson thought feeling angry with himself. He regretted not waiting outside for her until her meeting was over.
Regret is just regret, it does not change anything.
Jackson thought as he went to his car. He had particularly ordered his driver to use the black tinted car with hopes of driving back with Jasmine. He knew how naughty that woman of his was that is why he fully prepared himself for her. He was prepared for her yet the person he did all this for was gone.
On opening the backseat to enter his car Jackson stood there frozen to the spot when he saw who was sitting down inside the car with her legs crossed.
"Are you gonna stand out there the whole day? If you are scared to enter the car because of what evil thing I will do to you then I am sorry to tell you that your fear is irrelevant. I am not in the mood to do anything so get in," Jasmine said with a gloomy expression. The way she talked was as if she owned the car.
"Whether or not you told me to get in, I would have still done that because the car you are sitting down in is my car after all," Jackson said as he sat down beside her. He said those words to make her bicker at him like she had always done but surprisingly, she did not utter a word.
Jackson who was uneasy with the way she was acting turn to stare at her.
The expression his eyes met wasn't the one he wanted to see. He has always seen her pretend but from the look on her face, he could tell that this was the real Jasmine he has always wanted to see.
The imperfect Jasmine. The one with a lot of flaws. Jasmine whose aim wasn't to flirt with him.
"I am not the type to apologise but I will break that rule for you. If I hurt you with my words or action earlier, I say I am sorry...,"
"Thank you for helping me out earlier and I am sorry for getting mad at you earlier. That was the only way I could think of to get out of there?" Jasmine said as she hugs his left arm. Her sudden action and words made Jackson's body went stiff.
Jasmine just apologised to me? Is she ok? I wonder what exactly is wrong with her?
Jackson thought as he stares at her head which was leaning on his shoulders.
"Are you saying you are not angry with me because I almost ruined your marriage and your future happiness?" Jackson asked in a meek tone.
"You helped me so how could I get mad at you for offering me help when I needed it the most?" Jasmine asked as she still hugs his hand.
"If I was not the reason you got so furious then can you tell me why you were angry?" Jackson stylish asked the question on his mind.
"Do you know that I haven't attended a wedding for more than five years? Even on my beloved sisters birthday, I didn't attend her wedding. I purposely scheduled a business trip on that day so I would have a reason why I wouldn't attend it," Jasmine said in a very calm tone. Jackson could vouch that this was the first time he has heard and seen her so calm.
"Why did you do that?" Jackson seized all the opportunities thrown his way.
"Because I don't only despise love relationship between a man and a woman but I also hate marriage. I hate marriage so much that is why I always find one excuses or the other to reject every suitor my mum selected for me. I never wanted to get married but now I guess I have no choice but to do what I hate," Jasmine said sounding furious. She sat up properly afterwards.
"Why do you hate these two things? I mean you once said you hate falling in love but you never mentioned your reason for this so would you care to tell me?" Jackson asked. He silently prayed that she will spill the beans. He just needs to know these two most important things about her to know what his next moves will be.
"Why are you so anxious to know it? You have never told me any of your secrets so why should I tell you mine?" Jasmine who was back to her normal self asked staring into Jackson's black eyeballs.
"Also we are not friends so why should I tell you things about myself?" Jasmine asked as she stares at him suspiciously.
She is back to her normal self again? She looks like a different lady from the one I was talking to earlier. I wonder for how long she had trained for her to be this good at switching her moods.
Jackson thought as he shed off the tenderness in his eyes.
"Are you coming down now that you look normal again?" Jackson who didn't want to get into a fight with her quickly change the topic.
"I sent my driver away because I wanted to be with you," Jasmine said in a more relaxed tone.
"Huh...," Jackson remarked. He thought he heard her wrong.
"I mean even though you can be very annoying sometimes, spending time with you at your mansion is better than staying all alone," Jasmine said. Although her tone sounded obnoxious Jackson still loved the fact that she wants to follow him home.
