Chapter 87 - Someone’s coming
It was indeed true, the rule had to be revised. If they went by the same rule, the survivor team would win if their leader won.
However, this didn’t apply to the opposing team. Even if Ace won, the score would become 1:1. If they wanted to decide on the final winner, they would require another duel.
The problem was, there wasn’t enough time for them to have another duel round, and Ace didn’t want to fight to gain nothing.
Hiro thought about it for a moment. He also didn’t want to make a loss, so he had to decide carefully.
He once again focused on Ace’s equipment.
Ace was a barbarian with the beast bloodline. Because of this, he would probably utilize the special Raging status in the duel, allowing him to drastically increase his attack speed.
That wouldn’t be good for him.
Still, seeing how Ace’s maximum HP was about 10% lower than Hiro’s, it seemed that the beast barbarian type he was going for was focused on inflicting a large amount of damage.
Not only his HP, but his DEF stat could be considered low as his armor only had additional stats that increased his movement and attack speed.
Light armor usually doesn’t have high DEF.
Another thing that made Hiro confident that he had an over 70% chance of winning was the weapon Ace was using.

‘70% should be enough,’ Hiro thought to himself. Either way, the victory of the survivor team was in his hands. He could feel the tremendous pressure on his shoulders as he widened the distance between his feet and tightened his grip on the Blood-Eater Vampire’s hilt.
“All right. Let’s start!”
The one-sided decision that came out of Hiro’s mouth caused the players behind him to fall into a commotion. The survivors who felt played found it unacceptable and began whispering among each other, but Hiro ignored them and kept his attention on the opponent in front of him.
“Glad their leader’s dumb,” Ace heard one of the hunters behind him whisper.
Not few of them thought that Hiro’s decision was stupid. As someone from the survivor team, he could’ve opted for an additional duel round for a tie-breaker, yet he chose to accept the new rule Ace proposed.
But Ace didn’t share the same thought. On the contrary, his impression of Hiro became better when he saw that his opponent had enough courage. Moreover, he felt that the decision must’ve been made after several considerations, especially of the victory chance he believed he had.
Ace smiled in satisfaction. A bright light then appeared on Ace’s back, and within seconds, two Zweihänders appeared in an X position.
Ace pulled his two swords out. The two identical Zweihänders’ blades were longer than Hiro’s greatsword, but they weren’t as wide and seemed very light as he used them to slash the empty air.
Such beautiful twin swords. The swords’ hilts were white as snow, and their blades were shining silver.
“Let’s go!”
Whoosh!
Ace dashed forward at an incredible speed, leaving a breeze powerful enough to move the clothes of the hunters a distance behind him.
Clank!
Hiro parried Ace’s two swords aimed at him just in time. Even so, he really didn’t expect that Ace would be able to dash at such a speed.
He didn’t even have the time to activate his Sword Combo Skill.
Clank!
Hiro pushed Ace’s swords back before jumping back about two meters himself. With the distance, he now had just enough time to activate his most dependable skill.
[Sword Combo Skill]
Dash!
“Hyat!”
Hiro leaped up and landed sword-first toward Ace, who had also moved to do the same.
He gave almost absolutely no time for Hiro to breathe.
CLANK!
Swish! Swish!
A clash occurred. The two were now swinging their swords to bring the other down.
Hiro’s speed had increased quite noticeably with his combo skill’s activation. Still, it was barely enough to inflict damage on Ace’s HP as the greatsword didn’t directly injure him.
This dissatisfied Hiro. Seeing that the duel wouldn’t go anywhere if this persisted, he quickly decided to use his greatsword’s unique skill.
Clink!
All of a sudden, the Blood-Eater Vampire’s blade began emitting a black and purple glow.
[Absorbing 75% of opponent’s HP]
Before Ace knew it, his knees had rapidly begun to weaken and his hands no longer had the strength to bear the Blood-Eater Vampire’s weight.
SPLAT!
The moment he noticed that his HP had been drained, Hiro’s greatsword tore Ace’s chest, causing blood to rapidly gush out.
As Hiro previously expected, Ace’s armor didn’t have enough defense to reduce his greatsword’s penetration damage.
“Arghhh!” Ace screamed in pain. His sight began to blur as red painted it along with the white surrounding him. He wobbled and almost fell backward, but he still managed to remain standing.
Hiro swiftly dashed forward at Ace, his brows furrowed.
Ace gritted his teeth in annoyance. Immediately after, he also dashed forward to attack.
“Eat this!”
He quickly connected the two ends of his swords’ hilts, and…
Tuck!
A blinding light brightly shone from the spot where the two swords were connected.
When the twins were united, their forms were no longer swords, but a spear with two spearheads as long as the Zweihänders’ blades.
Splat!
[Critical Hit]
[HP -5999]
Splat!
Splat!
Ace’s counterattacks were merciless. Hiro reflexively dashed backward, but it was futile. He couldn’t evade properly due to the previous blinding light, and in just a few seconds, the legendary weapon slashed Hiro so many times he couldn’t count.
With the 10% boost to all his basic attributes, Ace’s attacks now felt considerably different from before.
Splat!
Hiro really couldn’t match Ace’s speed.
Splat!
“Ack!”
Blood splattered and flowed out of the wounds all over his body. At the same time, loud cheers could be heard from one side.
“Kill that arrogant brat!”
“Kill that arrogant brat!”
Most of the hunters there were excited as they witnessed Ace mercilessly hack and slash at Hiro’s body. Seeing the leader of the opposing team at this state greatly boosted their spirit.
Hiro wobbled again and again, but Ace didn’t let him fall. His face was now covered in his own blood, and he could no longer see clearly due to the blood covering his eyes.
At this moment, Hiro once again checked his HP bar while muttering a countdown.
“3.”
“2.”
“1.”
Ace stopped attacking. His weapon had reverted to its initial form, and his breaths were so all over the place that Hiro could clearly hear them.
Hiro wobbled once again, but he managed to hold onto the greatsword he had stabbed to the ground early on.
His HP was still slightly higher than Ace’s, and he was sure that he would be able to eliminate his opponent if he swung his greatsword.
However, before he could execute his ending move, a powerful gust of wind burst between them, sending both Ace and Hiro flying in opposite directions.
The wind continued to spin at an unbelievable speed, so fast that even the thick layer of snow mixed with blood was pulled into it.
Before any of them could react, a giant hand suddenly came out of the spinning tornado, facing the rows of survivors.
