Chapter 903: Ticking time
[Eon's POV: ]
"You'll have fun there."
"But… you two won't be there…"
Quin finally decided to go to Heliox with Carla, Alf, Zoe, and Chry. Mostly to spend time with Chry but they weren't saying it and we didn't bring that up either.
They were certainly going to have fun though. And having Quin around was a good thing for not just her but also for Anna and the others.
She knew a lot about the secluded world of waters and her experiences in that island with her grandfather were precious so Anna loved the stories that she told her.
'She had even asked all of us to bring her with us when we get back… that was the main reason I wanted her to come with us this time as well.'
And besides, there was nothing much that she could do here.
It was better that she comes with us and stays in Heliox instead of spending her vacation time on something like studying and learning about work.
She was doing well already so there was no need for her to pay more attention to other things in the holidays as well.
"Don't be a kid. Just go and have fun… who knows, if we get some chance, we might drop by there as well."
"What?! Hey! This is the first I'm hearing that!" That was Tia shouting from all the way to the other side of our circle.
Everyone was parting ways and had gathered in the same garden meeting place as we usually meet.
They were saying their goodbyes to one another while some were departing with their bags and stuff.
Some were going to stay here so they were a little emotional at the moment as well.
"You said you two will be gone for good!"
"Tia… they aren't going to die or anything. Don't say it like that please."
The way she hurriedly flew over was so funny many were laughing but the way she said that sentence was a little too iffy.
"As I said… we 'might'. I don't even know we will get any free time in the first place so I cannot be certain myself."
It was all just excuses since we wanted to make it seem like we were going for some super secret mission assigned to us by some super secret individual.
They had already bought the story we had sold to them so there was no need to make things deeper anymore.
"Aww… so, you won't come there after all?"
On one side, Tia was being noisy while on the other side, Quin wes being sad… and both of them were not kids so this was quite something.
"Stop. Both of you."
"Yes~. Let's all part ways with a smile~. There's no need to be so emotional~."
Rein and Zoe had to step and take both these children off my hands. And thanks to them, I was finally able to get the time I needed to talk with the people that really mattered right now.
"Let's see each other soon then."
"Yes. Of course."
Prince Alph might drop by since he had that special 'connection' with the young ones of Heliox and Anna loved his little familiar so I didn't mind him being around anymore.
We had gotten pretty close in the past few months so he was a good friend now.
"You will be staying here?"
"There is a lot in this academy that I still have to explore… this island has many things as well."
Captain Alpha was one person that I still could not figure out completely.
He was good with many things like talking and had the best talent among all the students present right now but he was more interested in mysteries than anything else.
He was a mystery himself and yet he was more interested in all kinds of secrets and stuff that was considered to be supernatural.
His wish to find the truths was deep, and that made him one of the most unique people on par with Prince Alph who had a pinnacle skill or Tia who was from the royal lineage.
"If you find anything interesting, please show it to us as well when we get back."
"That's a given in this relationship of ours."
He knew I was hiding a lot of things. He actually knew every single person in our close friend circle was hiding a lot of things.
And he was on a mission to find out as much as he can without worrying them or making them feel uncomfortable.
Playing detective was kind of his hobby and, I dare say the boy was pretty good at it.
"Haha," He was a fun guy. So, before parting ways, I gave him a little gift.
"If you ask the oldest being present in the academy, you might get to hear a lot of fun stories at twilight."
I whispered directly into his ears and with a smile, and a fist bump, I left him and Miss Luna alone.
"Lucifer! Lucifer! I've been looking all over for you."
Hide came running from behind and was almost going to crash into me, but thankfully I caught him and stopped him in his tracks before he did so.
"Haaa… so, did you… get what I… haa…"
"Take a breath first, at least. I'm not disappearing into the sea of butterflies just yet man."
"Haaa… what?"
Hide asked me for a very important thing a while back and now that we were not going to see each other for a while, he had to check the status of his request at least.
"Don't worry about it. It's going well. It will be done in a week so you will get the delivery at the secondary palace directly."
It was a personal request so the others did not know much about it.
"Wait, that fast? I thought it would take a month or so?"
The request was pretty difficult, but he was lucky that I was working on something that required similar materials and already had a stock.
"Consider yourself lucky this time."
"Hell yeah I will~!"
This 'stuff' he requested was important to him and to his peaceful life. And since it was a direct favour to him, I was getting much more than what I was giving.
"Oh, are you sure about the delivery though? Shouldn't we set some other location for the pick up-."
"There won't be any need for that. [Neko] will do the delivery work. I'm pretty confident in their abilities."
They were one of the best in their fields and after working with them for years now, I had no doubt in their ability to get the job done.
"...you are a crazier person than everyone knows, you know?"
He was shocked to hear that one of the most notorious organisations of the eastern continent will do delivery work for him.
"Let's keep this between us, haha."
"They won't believe me even if I told them, mister."
This organisation specialised in everything.
Be it a simple assassination of some high profile individual or a coup. As long as they were getting paid enough for their work, they practically could do anything.
They could even do laundry work and housework if one wanted. Getting Good services was also possible.
But, this delivery work was just something else… especially since he was the sole prince of one of the strongest nations of the east.
"Alright then, I still have to talk with the others so, have a fun holiday~."
"You too~!"
He was a much simpler person than everyone made him out to be.
He was merely a simple boy that wanted simple things… but, fate did not give him what he wanted. And he could not do anything about that.
"Now, where is Miss Mia… oh. There."
I had to talk with them and quickly depart as well.
'We have to go talk with the headmaster and our mentors before departing, which is going to take time.'
The grand conference will be held a few weeks from now so the time left is not long.
We still had to get used to the kind of environment we will have there and do rehearsals.
There were still the document preparations left and making copies and adding the new data about Kaksha, and more stuff…
'It's not going to be a simple conference filled with old people or people with authority.'
The kind of people we will have to deal with there are going to be diverse, and if we want to prevent any kind of bad debates from happening… we had to be prepared for things that are impossible as well.
"Vice captain. I had been looking for you-."
"Miss Eva. I know you want to stay here and just chill for a few days but please do consider visiting Lakmer at least one time. The president might actually use some of your help there."
She wanted to have a break, but as the youngest master alchemist of this world, she could not just sit around and play all day.
She knew that as well, but since she had been through so much already, she deserved a break.
And yet…
"If… if you are insisting that much… I think I have no choice then." she still did not want to do it still, so a helpless sigh just escaped her mouth.
'She did not know why I was pressing her so much, but she will understand when she gets there.'
As the youngest Master alchemist and the creator of a coreless golem that might bring about greater changes than she herself knew, she needed to be in a different place than her academy dorm.
"I know you will not regret it."
If anything, it would be a completely new kind of experience for her.
"Now…"
I still had to talk with a few others, so I just hurriedly parted ways with her and reached the next location.
The time was ticking now… we did not have the liberty to waste any more time, even with small and important things like this one.
