Namely, it was one of the Three Ice Goddesses of the Ice Goddess Sect, Yang Hua!

She was here on order of her sect to get the Grand Elder of the River Serpent Sect onto the side of the Ice Goddess Sect.

Even though she was affiliated with a Righteous sect and would normally be opposed to teaming up with an Evil Sect like the River Serpent Sect, they were in the midst of an intense battle with another Rank 7 Sect from the Iron Devourer Nation.

Located to the North of the Fire Nation but still part of the Northern Spirit Continent, the Iron Devourer Nation made up around a tenth of the known surface area of Prometheus.

The Northern Spirit Continent contained quadrillions upon quadrillions of Cultivators and countless normal mortals, with all of them looking to the advice of the strongest Sects and Kingdoms on the continent, which were the Rank 5 Kingdoms and Rank 7 Sects.

There were only a handful of such organizations on the continent, and all of them almost always seemed to be in a blood feud with the others in one way or another.
