I'm A Baller

Chapter 81 - Goodbye

Chapter 81: Goodbye

“Little tycoon, wake up early in the morning, go to the latrine with my pants on…”

Wang Yan happily hummed a tune as he walked into the… super large bathroom.

After looking at himself in the mirror for a while, a smile appeared on his face as he excitedly snapped his fingers.

He was good-looking!

In reality, there wasn’t much of a change to him as compared to the day before.

However, compared to his poor student image of the past, he was indeed a completely different person now.

This feeling of getting better little by little and waking up every day filled with hope for a new day was a joy that Wang Yan had never experienced before.

Sigh!

How could life be so wonderful!

Wang Yan washed his face, brushed his teeth and shaved his beard. After he was done with his morning routine, he sent Liu Li a WeChat message.

“Little fairy, are you up yet? Do you want to come over for breakfast?”

Wang Yan waited for 10 minutes but there was still no response from Sanwan. Therefore, he had no choice but to go downstairs and have breakfast alone.

He was uncertain of whether or not Lin Weiwei was staying at the school hostel.

He just had breakfast with Fu Yushi yesterday. Regardless of whether or not anyone cared, Wang Yan had to learn to not do anything that might arouse suspicion.

He couldn’t call Reyi Nawu either. The incident which happened the day before yesterday was rather awkward for both of them. He had to give the little girl some time to ease her emotions.

Lu Yuanyuan, Wang Xue, and Old Han were all out of town.

After pondering for a moment, the almighty tycoon realized that no one else but him could entertain himself. It was so pitiful to be alone.

Of course, Director Wang didn’t care about being alone either.

He strolled towards the restaurant downstairs. His phone suddenly rang before he could pick up a plate to get started on the buffet.

Wang Yan took a look at his phone and was surprised to see Lin Weiwei calling.

“Hello, Sister Weiwei?”

“You’re up? Quickly get ready and go downstairs. I’ll wait for you at the first gate of the west parking lot.”

“What…”

Lin Weiwei cut straight to the point. Wang Yan didn’t even finish his question when she hung up on him.

Fine. He shall go meet her.

Shangri-la Hotel had an impressive total of five parking lots. They were the ground floor, underground, southwest, east, and west parking lots. If someone was unfamiliar with the facilities, they were bound to get lost.

Wang Yan wasn’t familiar with the facilities either, but he had Dave to guide him. He didn’t even need to ask the latter; Wang Yan just needed to follow him.

Upon locating Lin Weiwei’s red A4, Wang Yan opened the door on the passenger side. He didn’t greet Lin Weiwei immediately after he got into the car. Instead, he flicked the bobblehead figure of Loki that was displayed on her car dashboard.

The toy which was connected to a spring wobbled crazily like a snapping beetle. Wang Yan was in a good mood as he laughed like a kid.

“Haha, I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time. This feels great!”

Just as he was about to move on to flicking the bobblehead figure of Thor, Lin Weiwei grabbed his hand and grumbled in both anger and amusement, “Aren’t you childish? SIT properly!”

Wang Yan looked at Lin Weiwei, then at the bobblehead figures of Loki, Thor and Captain America. He pouted.

“Damn, you face-judger!”

“What did you say?!”

Lin Weiwei paused momentarily. Her eyes flashed with a cold light. Her gaze was as sharp as a blade as she glared at Wang Yan.

It was quite scary, but Wang Yan was not afraid of it at all. He smiled and retorted, “Big Sister, you’re someone from the Capital, okay? Where did you learn that accent from?”

Lin Weiwei was stunned by the question and her thinking went off on a tangent. She pondered for a moment. Suddenly, she felt a little annoyed.

“F*ck! Who else could it be? It’s Lu Yuanyuan’s fault! The Dongbei dialect’s assimilation ability is too strong. My authentic Capital accent is now tainted with a lingering smell of corn. [1]”

Haha!

Why would Lin Weiwei be so serious and sincere about his question?

Wang Yan was overjoyed. He finally cleared the doubt which had troubled him for a long time, “Hey, Sister Weiwei, did you always listen to crosstalk under the overpass when you were young?”

“Damn, Gouzi! I think you need a good beating!”

It was the first time Lin Weiwei heard such a comment about herself. She was so angry that she gritted her teeth.

However, before she could make a move, Wang Yan immediately raised his hand and admitted defeat, “Big Sister, I was wrong!”

“…”

Lin Weiwei was speechless. She could only press hard on the accelerator.

Her Audi growled, as though it was panting.

As for Wang Yan?

He sat up straight while grabbing his seatbelt tightly. He put on a fawning smile and asked, “Sister Weiwei, where are we going?”

Lin Weiwei felt her heart ache as she vented begrudgingly, “Little Liu Li is concerned about you. She was afraid that you would be bored, so she has asked us to bring you around the Capital when we have time. I went to bed past midnight yesterday and I got up at 3 a.m.. I traversed across the Capital to pick you up so that I can bring you to taste the famous food in the city. Yet, you treat me like this.”

Wang Yan glanced at her without responding right away. She came to meet him bare face, without any makeup on. She wore a cap on her head, which meant she didn’t wash her hair. She was wearing a t-shirt and a pair of hot pants. She did not dress up for their meeting today.

She said she got up at three o’clock in the morning?

B*llsh*t!

At most, she got up at 6 a.m.. She left her house after washing her face.

Perhaps she did not even go home yesterday and had stayed at school.

Lin Weiwei went on nagging non-stop like a petty old widow. However, she did not receive a response. She turned her head and saw that Wang Yan was tightly pursing his lips. His eyes were watery and he seemed very touched, but he did not say anything.

Uh… What’s going on?

Did her trick work, or was she seen through?

Lin Weiwei was a little confused. For the first time, she felt that her IQ and EQ were not enough to handle the situation. She thought to herself, why is this damn Gouzi so hard to deal with?

He was only 18 years old. He was such an evildoer!

Wang Yan looked at Lin Weiwei’s side profile and laughed evilly in his heart. He thought to himself: Lin Weiwei had better continue her acting. If my acting skill can’t match hers, I will admit defeat!

Just as Wang Yan was pleased with himself, Lin Weiwei’s eyes darted around. All of a sudden, she beamed brilliantly like a blossoming flower.

“Sit properly. I’ll bring you to taste the real delicacy of the Capital. It is a rare treasure of the world!”

Huh?!

Why was she so easily pleased?

It didn’t seem like her style.

Wang Yan instantly felt that something was wrong. However, he had already got in her car and was now deep in her trap. Since he couldn’t resist, he could only go with the flow.

They went straight from Wudaokou to Tian’anmen, but they still didn’t stop there. They went all the way to the Southern Second Ring Road.

Lin Weiwei parked her car in a parking lot along Qinian Street. Wang Yan curled his hands around his eyes and looked into the distance. Hey, the Temple of Heaven was located nearby.

“Huh? Are you planning to bring me on a trip to the Temple of Heaven later?”

Lin Weiwei smiled brightly. “We’ll talk about it later. Let’s settle our breakfast first!”

She turned around and walked straight ahead.

Wang Yan followed behind her, feeling a little flustered for some reason.

Why did it feel like something bad was going to happen?

Before he could figure it out, they crossed a road and arrived at their destination.

When he raised his head, he saw an unremarkable and ancient plaque with four huge characters written on it: Yin San Douzhi (Yin San fermented soy milk).

F*ck!

Goodbye!

Wang Yan turned around and left immediately.

Since Wang Yan’s arrival at the Capital, although he had never tried this before, he had long heard of its fame.

Even Chinese herbal medicine was much better tasting than this soy milk!

When Lin Weiwei heard the commotion behind her, she turned around and saw that Wang Yan was standing ten meters away from her. He was hugging a lamppost, as though he would climb it at any moment.

“What the heck! What are you doing?”

“What are you doing? ”

“I’m bringing you to taste the Capital’s specialties!”

“I’m not tasting it. Let’s go to another shop!”

“What the heck! I picked you up early in the morning and drove all the way to Southern Beijing so that you can taste the best soy milk in the Capital. You are actually not going to give me some face and taste it?”

“Yes,” Wang Yan answered while nodding his head.

How dare he nod?

Moreover, Wang Yan was nodding repeatedly as though nodding once was not enough.

Lin Weiwei was both angry and amused. She strode forward and with just two steps, she was in front of Wang Yan. She glared at him fiercely.

“Are you really not going to give me face?”

Wang Yan didn’t hesitate for a second and decisively nodded his head.

If they were characters in a manga, a cowlick would have been bristled from Lin Weiwei’s long crimson hair. She would then roll her eyes at him while her forehead was covered with a dark shadow.

However, they were in the real world, so Lin Weiwei just sighed regrettably.

“You should be a monkey and not a dog! Okay, let’s head to another breakfast spot.”

“Sister Wei is worthy of all praises!”

Wang Yan instantly put on a smiling face. Then, he pondered for a moment and added seriously, “Actually, I am an ox. [2]”

Huff. Huff.

The sound of an ox panting sounded from beside Wang Yan.

[1]: Dongbei, or Northeast China, is famous for including maize in their daily diet.

[2]: Wang Yan mentioned his actual zodiac sign in response to Lin Weiwei’s tease.
