Chapter 15: Misunderstanding
Chapter 15: Misunderstanding
*Gasp*
Kaden's eyes fluttered open only to be blinded, making them close once more. Once he felt the light was gone Kaden opened his eyes once again to see Mr. Wright looking at him from across and the stage.
'Am I back?' Kaden thought to himself looking around the room at all the students currently looking at him eagerly.
Kaden immediately realized the reason they were all staring at him and quickly threw the Darius situation at the back of his mind for a moment whirling his head forward to see a tiny blue screen that was the entire purpose of coming to this school.
[Name: Kaden Crown]
[Class: Necromancer]
[Potential: SSS+]
[Current Rank: F-]
Kaden smiled widely in excitement as this was more amazing than anything he could have dreamed of! An SSS+ ranked potential! This was something that had never been seen before in this world at least to Kaden's knowledge and what surprised him even more was his class known as a Necromancer.
Kaden knew all about Necromancy from not only reading novels online but there were some abilities related to necromancy already in the world and in some people's classes. Though none that have been recorded have been labeled an actual Necromancer. Kaden's thoughts ran wild as he thought about the potential abilities his class may have and the impact his class would have on the world.
'Wait.... impact on the world? Oh no.' Kaden immediately freaked out inside his mind.
While he sees no reason not to tell or show his class potential at the moment, Kaden doesn't know for certain whether that kind of attention would be preferable or trying to mask it somehow would have a better outcome.
'How would I even hide this from the school in the first place?' Kaden thought to himself running ideas through his mind but everywhere he thought ended with failure.
"Excuse me if you aren't going to show your class here please go back to your seat as it's someone else's turn." A male voice spoke to Kaden.
Turning his head up Kaden realized it was Mr. Wright speaking to him and looking to the side he remembered exactly where he was, 'How could I go off in my head while still standing on the stage?!' Kaden thought surprised with himself.
"Sorry about that. I will be going now, thank you." Kaden said bowing his head slightly to Mr. Wright and then to the rest of the audience before walking off the stage and back to his seat.
At first people stared at him confused on why he stood there so long but soon lost interest as the next name was called to the stage. This was completely fine with Kaden as he was slightly embarrassed at what he did.
As Kaden sat down he was met with the curious gazes of Ken. Ashly, Emma, and even James that were all wondering not only what his class is but what happened up there. Once Kaden's butt hit the chair the questions began.
"So what class did you get?" Ashly asked bluntly surprising everyone else but they nodded their heads in agreement on what she asked.
"It's a secret." Kaden responded quickly, deciding that he needed to think more about his situation before deciding any plan of action. He didn't have to show the school his class until tomorrow. This was due to the awakening taking so long to complete, by the time it was finished the sun would already begin setting.
Hearing him say it was a secret brought many different thoughts to those around him as they formulated their own ideas, but one common idea was soon voiced by surprisingly Emma, "Did you end up with a low potential like me? It's ok no need to fret we can still rank up and even surpass our potential if we give enough effort and if that's not enough, you're always welcome to live in my family's territory."
"It's not like that. I just don't want to share at the moment." Kaden said denying the claims completely, but Ashly seemed to want the claims to be true.
"It's ok Kaden you can cry on my shoulder if you're sad about it. I'm a judgement free zone so you can let out all of your luscious- I mean all of your grief out onto me. We may have not known each other long but doctors say letting everything out is healthy." Ashly said in a very convincing manner but slipping up towards the middle making everyone look at her strangely.
"Don't act like we didn't hear that. There's no way that would happen now and plus like I said it's not even like that." Kaden said starting to get annoyed at all of them.
"I don't know what you're talking about I was just offering my help." Ashly sheepishly said making everyone look at her even more strangely.
No one seemed to believe him at this point and Ken even reached his hand over patting him over the shoulder like he was going through some tough time and needed some comfort.
"There's nothing to be ashamed of at this point there are three plebians in your little group of four so it's not like you can make each other even worse. Unlike beautiful Miss Ashly here whom will be an icon in the future who will only be showered with fame and fortune." James said interjecting in the conversation with his own take which made all four of them look at him with disgust even the girl that he complimented during his "condolences".
"Shut up loser." Ashly said immediately surprising everyone with her sudden hostility that none of them had seen before. Despite seemingly wanting to say more James turned his face back forward and looked towards the stage but of course was still listening in on their conversation.
'Seems like we have a suck up.' Kaden thought immediately judging James's personality.
After that Kaden refused to answer any more questions on his class so everyone returned their attention back to the stage for now deciding to ask more questions later besides Ashly who immediately whispered in his ear, "It's ok to put up a strong front, I like it. You can tell me all about your class later." She said turning back her attention to the stage before Kaden could answer.
'Ugh.' Kaden sighed inside his mind.
