Chapter 28: Hidden Act: Subjugation Of The Final Boss [1]
[30 Minutes Earlier]
"No...everything is all wrong!"
Noah exclaimed while running and making his way to the top floor where a door stared at him.
He opened it and what he saw through almost entirely made him feel like throwing up.
A large magic circle was etched at the floor glowing in a vibrant red.
'There's no doubt that they're trying to summon the demon constellation power upon this world...atleast a part of it.'
Noah thought as his gaze shifted to a sole being levitating above the magic circle.
Around him were the missing noble students but the reason that made Noah feel like throwing up was the fact that the students were headless.
Worst of all they were upside down and hands stretched as blood trickled from their necks and made contact with the red magic circle.
Every drop made the magic circle glow in and out.
The floating dead and headless bodies that were upside down formed what looked like an upside down cross.
The figure standing in the middle wore a rob and it was hard to tell it's facial features.
Noah could see that the figure was holding a book that glowed in red as well, it's mouth moving like inciting an incarnation.
'The unspoken constellation...Demonic constellation.
It's not like it was forbidden to use the blessings recieved from him, but rather that humans weren't capable of holding the immense power that came with being chosen by the demonic constellation.
With time it was realised that people would experience uncurable diseases, premature deaths and others would go berserk solely driven by their inner desires.
Unlike the other constellations, the demonic constellation cannot choose its disciples, unless summoned and a sacrifice is made that it'll only choose you.
But in return you have to say goodbye to your body and accept that you will die soon enough.
Either a slow death which is usually from gaining a small potion of the demon god's power or a sudden death from plagues, calamities or going berserk and haywire.
That's the selfish nature of such a constellation.
Even with such situations and despite being given warnings, there are people who still choose to follow the demon god as their constellation.
Such people are those with burning desires for something that want it achieved instantly.
Growth in power and blessings from the big three constellations usually takes time and needs nurturing alot.
Where else with the demon god, power is given instantly without waiting, but at the cost of risking your body.
That's why it was not encouraged.
The Church of the demon god exists, just in the veil of shadows, unseen and unrecognizable by the public.
Soon enough it'll grow to a point the other constellation followers won't be able to restrict or restrain them.
And that will all begin with a cult within the walls of Ravenwood Academy.'
While Noah recalled the game's details and knowledge he knew that didn't matter as of now.
Those were future scenarios, what mattered at the moment was prevent Amy from being killed for the summoning.
Noah looked around and noticed a girl with blue hair being surrounded with what seemed to be corrupted rogue students who acted as minions.
He knew they were the ones instructed to kidnap the students with pure blood after stealing documents from the school faculty.
The documents contained every students personal details even the house and family they were from.
Noah decided to call the system to see if there was any sort of advantage he would gain.
Even if he knew future scenarios, there were moments like this whereby he would have to use his raw strength, let alone magic and his wits.
He looked at his mana reserve and realised that he would have to use magic spells that didn't consume too much mana.
[Mana: 567]
But even so, he knew basic spells that were fed with more mana were lethal.
As much as he tried to ignore the system's remarks his eyes still drifted to the sneering message it gave.
[■Final Remark: Noah, let's be honest here: if you somehow survive this, it will be nothing short of a miracle. And by miracle, I mean a stroke of your unparalleled, sky-high... oh wait, you have no real strengths. Never mind. Actually, scratch that. If you do make it through, it'll be purely thanks to your "impressive" luck stat.
You might just trip over something and dodge danger by accident. Either way, don't get used to this feeling of hope — it's probably a glitch]
Noah sighed and almost immediately stretched his right arm.
With a swift motion an icicle shot from his hand and pierced one of the rogues.
Instantly they all turned their heads.
"...guess I got their attention..."
Noah muttered.
They all began moving towards him in a coordinated motion, their red eyes glimmering in the night.
Noah stood in the dim light of the night, his breath turning into a cold fog as an ice spear materialized in his hand.
His eyes glowed a deep blue, matching the eerie weapon that pulsed with energy, draining a large portion of his mana.
Across from him, three corrupted students sneered, their eyes filled with malice.
Without wasting a second, Noah launched a barrage of icicles from his palm, aiming straight at them.
The sharp shards of ice whistled through the air, but the rogue students dodged and countered with bursts of dark magic and brute force.
One slammed a fist into Noah's side, sending him staggering back, and he coughed, blood trickling from his lips.
He retaliated with the spear, slicing at one of the students, but the spear missed its mark, and another student struck his arm with a fire spell, burning through his shirt and leaving his skin seared.
Noah gritted his teeth, freezing the wound with his remaining mana, the blue ice crawling over his body like armor.
His body was now covered in patches of cold blue ice, shimmering in the night.
The battle turned in the favor of the corrupted students.
Noah was bleeding, hurt, and his clothes were torn.
Yet, even as blood dripped from his mouth and pain spread through his body, his appearance was hauntingly beautiful.
His cold breath lingered in the air, his blue eyes glowing with a glimmer of defiance, and the icy blue covering parts of his body made him look ethereal, despite the pain he felt.
He wobbled slightly, struggling to stay on his feet.
His vision blurred, and for a moment, he wanted to give up.
The exhaustion was unbearable, and his body screamed for rest.
[Ding!]
The system's voice chimed in, mocking as always.
[■ System Message: Your mana is below 2. You have triggered Mana Deficiency. You will be unable to use mana until a specific time period has passed. Good luck... You're going to need it.]
Noah cursed under his breath, feeling utterly vulnerable.
His mana was gone, his body was falling apart, and he was defenseless.
Just when he thought he couldn't hold on any longer, something unexpected happened.
The corrupted students suddenly froze, their bodies convulsing.
Then, in a horrifying instant, their heads exploded, spraying blood everywhere.
Noah watched in shock as the blood from their bodies was pulled into the magic circle nearby, fully activating it.
And then, silence.
Noah knelt feeling exhausted.
He had prevented Amy from being killed but now things were going to be worse.
