I have Nine Lives

Chapter 157: Assimilating rare races (2)

Chapter 157: Assimilating rare races (2)

Felix could easily feel the energy of those that tried to approach Willie's location. Since they thought that Felix and the guinea pig had injured each other, maybe fatally. They wanted to get a piece of the fat meat that was being dangled in front of them.

They didn't know if it was a trap, but Willie was just too tantalizing for them to give up this opportunity.

Felix's body slowly disappeared as he became unseeable and unsenseable. There was no trace left of him around, and even if Willie was awake right now, he would become scared. Thinking that Felix disappeared from thin air, despite their spiritual bond.

Felix was crouching nearby as he observed the surroundings with his senses and advanced eyesight.

He could feel how his future prey was getting closer and closer to his hunting spot.

They were almost here...

Felix could see their silhouettes on the horizon as they approached his location quickly.

They were two big fellows with blank white faces and rippling muscles all over their bodies.

They had no facial features besides their eyes, which were two big black dots. They wore dark suits that covered their whole bodies, and they walked in tandem as if they were the same person or was a body that shared one brain. Even their mannerisms were identical.

They were a strange pair of twins, and Felix could feel that their energy was rather muddy.

It wasn't the pure type of energy that could be used nor absorbed.

He felt disgusted by it as it reminded him of the time he died by poisoning over the mixed energy in the simulation.

Did he need to eat them?

He decided to question the armor's AI:

"What's wrong with these two?"

[Beep! Unknown races had been detected... these two beings aren't in the database meant for this planet nor in the federations. They are unknown infiltrators who somehow found this planet... something must have happened with the coordinates of the planet, and they got leaked out. I shall send an SOS signal immediately.]

Unknown beings? Infiltrators? That sounded pretty suspicious.

Felix wasn't sure how these two found the planet or why they were here, but he could found out after he captured them!

[It's indicated that you should not come in contact with these two, there is a high chance you are the reason they are here, keeping you safe so you can grow further is the highest priority mission in my interface!]

Felix could feel his body which was ready to spring up and get a fight on with these two strange fellows, slowly mellow down and weaken.

He felt his legs give up on him as the armor controlled his body to get away from their current location and find the teleportation point.

Fighting unknown beings that could have strength above Felix's was something that the AI wasn't programmed to let happen.

Felix's safety was of utmost importance as he was the only being that could grow to the level of the invaders and even above it as long as he was helped properly.

Who knew if there would be a second person like Felix in existence?

Right now, he was a strategic resource that would grow infinitely in the future, and no one would want to lose such a resource due to a small mistake.

Felix tried to struggle. He couldn't live Willie alone as he had signed a contract with him, and if he broke it there would be some consequences.

Of course, it wouldn't be of much damage to Felix as the signed contract wasn't equal at all, it was very favored in Felix's direction, but Felix wasn't a cat that broke his promises.

The armor was bonded to Felix's body after he wore it for such a long time, but Felix was the owner of the armor and not the other way around.

His weakening body broke through the constraints of the armor as he took control back.

Felix didn't feel any danger coming from the duo. So he wouldn't leave Willie to the lurch.

He continued to stay near Willie in his perfect stealth as he waited for the duo to come closer so he can get them by surprise.

Felix's hidden aura was ready to burst as the faceless beings inched closer to Willie's cocoon. They were almost in striking range, but the duo was still warily checking their surroundings.

It seemed that while they were greedy for Willie's energy, they weren't very dumb as they still thought about a possible ambush.

If Felix was honest with himself, the duo's defensive stance was airtight. Even with all of his experience in slaughtering, he couldn't find a good weak spot where he could strike, but maybe if they got a little bit closer...

However, from the distance, he could see that they made up for each other's weaknesses. They were like two well-oiled machines even though they had this disgusting feeling about them.

They weren't people that Felix could look down upon.

The special aura around them made Felix's nose itchy as he continued to wait until they were in the right position.

It took a few minutes, but they were finally close enough for him to see a little gap in their combined defenses.

But he didn't attack yet... his senses told him that gap was actually a trap!

It wasn't obvious at first glance, but Felix could see the trap from a mile away due to his battlefield experience.

This type of opening before the counter was something that happened a lot of times against him because it was the most optimal technique against stealth experts and assassins.

But to an assassin with the ultimate patience, the technique wouldn't mean much.

And Felix had plenty of patience in him.

They took a few steps towards Willie before they made motions with their featureless faces. They almost looked like they were smelling the air...

It was a very disturbing sight, but Felix waited for them to finish. He knew that the last alien he had devoured gave him increased stealth capabilities, so he wasn't scared of anything right now.

Finally, they took another step towards Felix's direction, thinking that there was truly no one around, and the two people that fought here beforehand must have injured each other and gave up on Willie's energy.

However, the last step was deadly to them as Felix struck them directly in their buff chests until pale blood dropped from the incisions he precisely made there.

His claw's sharpness had increased with his normal bodily evolutions. And the increase of his bodily power from the aura evolution.

The attack was sudden and fast, making the duo unable to defend themselves and take it head-on.

Blood dripped down from their injuries as they supported each other and glared at Felix with their dark bead-like eyes.

They had no mouths, but sound still came from their bodies. It was just unknown where it was actually coming from.

But no matter what they said, Felix couldn't understand, then the translation feature of the armor activated, and Felix could understand them.

"Brother, what are we gonna do now? We have been injured!"

"Yeah, what are we gonna do?"

Their tones were extremely sarcastic as they eyed Felix's form. If they had a more defined face their expressions would be smug as well.

However, they suddenly felt the pain in their injuries expand over all of their body. And then paralyze them.

They tried to break the paralysis as their muscles trembled until even more blood started to spout out of their injuries, normally they sealed them already, but they realized that was a mistake on their part.

Felix had also inherited the poison spawning ability of the guinea pig he ate, but his poison was way weaker and it couldn't erode the bodies of the pale duo. All it could do was paralyze them, and if he wanted to get a poison as strong as the fellow he fought before, he would need to eat more guinea pigs' look-alikes.

But for now, this poison was good enough for Felix.

Felix wasn't idle while the duo tried to expunge the poison out of their bodies. He had already jumped atop their bodies and pinned them to the ground as he headbutted their heads multiple times until they became dizzy.

Blood flowed from the openings on their heads, but they slowly closed soon after they appeared.

It seemed their regenerative abilities were top-notch as their paralyzed bodies returned to their normal selves and pushed Felix away from atop of them.

They shook at the same time as they tried to grab Felix by the tail, only to realize that he disappeared again.

They were both angry as they tried to identify his location, only to fail.

They tried to blitz Willie's cocoon and steal him while Felix was still in stealth, however, the moment they tried to do that, they found themselves skewered from the belly down as they became two torsos without legs.

Felix glanced at the downed legs, but his eyes widened in surprise as the two pairs of legs kicked him in the stomach and started to run towards the duo's torsos.

Felix got up from his downed position and entered stealth again. He wouldn't let them get near Willie that easily...
