Chapter 143 Khalon Is Bleeding?
Arlan put on his communicator as he went down the stairs.
"Those people are part of the New People's Army. They are aiming to kidnap the son of a Senator. You guys just happen to be on the same bar as him." Winter reported.
Arlan's expression turned dark. He heard about the NPA from Lieutenant General Rivera, but he didn't think that they would encounter them in Catanduanes. "Which Senator are you talking about?"
"Senator Manuel Chavez..." Winter replied.
Arlan's frown deepened upon hearing the name. Senator Manuel Chavez was one of the most influential government officials in the country. He made numerous contributions in various fields and his most notable project was the Tertiary Education Sponsorship Program which helped thousands of students to go to college for free. He recently made headlines in the media when he said that he planned to run as Vice President.
Arlan grabbed his Prototype Energy Pistol. "Khalon, what's your situation?"
"I'm waiting for the opportunity to strike, boss. There are seven hostiles in my sight, but it's quite dangerous to make a move since there are civilians." Khalon reported in a grim voice.
"Winter, send me a photo of the senator's son." Arlan muttered as he carefully walked downstairs with his gun in hand.
His phone vibrated not long after. He grabbed it and opened the photo sent by Winter. After memorizing the face of the senator's son, he put his phone back inside his pocket.
When he reached the final step of the stairs, he looked to his left. This was the direction of the emergency exit. He noticed that there were four armed men walking around. They were checking the faces of the civilians. 'It looks like they haven't captured the senator's son yet.' He thought.
The four armed rebels were occupied by their search that they didn't even notice Arlan who was slowly approaching them.
"Khalon, I'll secure the emergency exit. You go and search for Senator Chavez's son. Make sure that he won't be harmed." Arlan whispered to his communicator.
"Yes, boss!"
Arlan slowly aimed his energy pistol and fired four shots in succession.
Poof! Poof! Poof! Poof!
The four armed men collapsed on the ground.
"Ahhh!!!"
"Someone died! Ahh!!"
Arlan frowned when he heard the people screaming. "These bloody idiots!"
"Go hide on the second floor! You still can't go out! There are rebels outside!" Arlan shouted as he blocked the emergency exit. Some people tried to push him away, but they couldn't budge him.
"What are you doing?!"
"Why are you blocking the exit?!"
Arlan grabbed the collar of the person who was shouting the loudest and roared. "Are you out of your damn minds?! I said there are rebels outside! Do you want to get f*cking killed?!" He then pushed the guy and said. "Go to the second floor if you want to live!"
Winter told him that there were eighteen rebels outside the bar. These people would only get themselves killed if they foolishly tried to escape.
"Who are you?! Get out of our way!" A bulky man pushed Arlan to the side as he pushed the door open. A few people followed him as they left through the emergency exit.
Arlan sneered upon seeing this, but he didn't say anything. "Since you want to die so much, then I won't stop you."
Most of the civilians had already fled to the second floor, but there were a few who stayed behind Arlan.
A fat middle-aged man grabbed Arlan's arm as he wailed miserably. "Sir, please help us leave this place!"
Arlan gently pushed him and replied. "Go to the second floor. It's not safe here." He then headed to the main lobby where most of the civilians were congregated.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
There were numerous gunshots coming from the main lobby. Arlan sped up after hearing the commotion.
"Boss, I've secured the target... We are heading to your location now." Khalon reported.
Arlan heard more gunshots while Khalon was communicating with him. "Quick! I'll cover you!" He responded.
He saw Khalon carrying a young man in his late teens. Arlan noticed that Khalon's shoulder was bleeding and there were five people shooting at him from behind.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Khalon's back was shot multiple times, but he didn't even flinch as continued running towards Arlan.
"Khalon!" Arlan was enraged when he saw this. He fired at the pursuing men with bloodshot eyes.
Poof! Poof! Poof! Poof! Poof!
Three people died on the spot and two managed to hide after receiving major wounds. Khalon also managed to safely escape from the attack.
Arlan solemnly stared at his wounds. He didn't think that Artificial Life Forms like Khalon would also bleed like humans. He thought that they were just robots with human-like intelligence. "Put him down. You guys go to the second floor. I'll block them!"
Khalon put down the senator's son. "I can't leave you here, boss! I have to ensure your safety." He said.
"In your state, you will only slow me down. Go! I can handle them!" Arlan shouted in a reprimanding tone.
Khalon stared deeply into his eyes, but he eventually nodded his head. "Let's go!" He said to the senator's son who was still in a state of utter confusion and shock.
Arlan hid behind a pillar as he waited for the enemies to come. There was a limit to his Prototype Energy Pistol so he could only use his sword.

"Sir Khalon!" Krizia was shocked when he saw the bloodstained Khalon. Terrence and the others were also startled and they couldn't help but gasp when they saw his gruesome wounds.
"I'm fine! Take him to safety! I have to go back downstairs to help the boss!" Khalon said as he pushed the senator's son towards them.
"You can't go! You've lost too much blood! You should stay here! I'll go there myself. Miss Krizia, please give me your gun." Terrence said with determination.
"Absolute no- cough! Cough!" Khalon leaned on the wall as he coughed a few mouthfuls of blood. His face turned pale all of a sudden.
"Sir Khalon!"
