Chapter 14 Gift From Luke
After a quick bath, Arlan went into the changing room and opened the closet. He saw an array of expensive clothes. These clothes were complimentary, but their value wasn't small when added all together.
Arlan casually chose what seemed to be a good match. He then inspected himself in the mirror and nodded his head in satisfaction. "Not bad." He muttered.
He grabbed his phone and dialed Terrence's number. "I'll be back at the hotel before lunch. I'll give you a call once I arrive."
"Alright. I'll wait for you." Terrence replied over the phone.
Arlan kept his phone inside his pocket and went to the parking area. There was only one car at this moment, but he knew that he would soon fill this parking area with a lot of luxury cars. Just the thought of it made him excited.
When Arlan passed by the entrance of the territory, he rolled down his window and waved at the guards. The four guards were the same people who inspected his documents yesterday.
One of them furrowed his eyebrows when he caught a glimpse of Arlan's face. "That guy isn't ordinary." He muttered.
"You noticed it too?"
The guards chatted among themselves after Arlan's car has passed by them.
Meanwhile, Arlan didn't know that he had become the topic of the security guards' conversation. He grabbed his phone and plugged in his headset. He then dialed Charles' number. "What's up, buddy?"
"It's still early in the morning. What are you calling for?" Arlan smirked when he heard Charles' tired voice.
"How are things on your side? Have you found a job?" He asked.
Charles sighed as he replied. "Not yet. I sent my resume to a few companies, but none of them responded or called me. I tried to call them as well, but no one answered."
Arlan frowned upon hearing this. Charles was an experienced worker and many companies should be interested in him. "I think someone is deliberately making things hard for you. There is only one person that comes to my mind..." He muttered coldly.
"Jackson! It must be him!" Charles' agitated voice echoed.
"That's right! Jackson is someone good at talking. I believe that he had smeared your name and told those bosses not to hire you." Arlan was seething with fury as he said this. It was his fault that Charles was kicked out of the company and he felt responsible for everything. However, things wouldn't have ended this way if it wasn't for Jackson.
"Dammit! So it's that fat pig again!" Charles cursed in anger.
"Don't worry about him. After I deal with some things, I'll take care of him. Let's meet at City Park Hotel before lunch. We'll talk about this later."
"Alright. I'll give you a call when I arrive."
Arlan ended the call with a cold look on his face. "Jackson, I'll destroy you soon! Just you wait!" He muttered.
Soon, he arrived at the City Park Hotel. He then dialed Terrence's number and told him about his arrival. The two met at the entrance and Terrence immediately dragged Arlan to his father's office.
"Buddy, my father has been looking for you last night. Where have you been?" Terrence asked as he looked at Arlan. For some reason, he felt that Arlan wasn't the same person as he was yesterday.
Hearing this, Arlan smiled and replied. "Is that so? I visited my new home last night and slept there."
"You bought a new home? You should have told me! We could have hosted a party and invited our friends! That would have been fun!" Terrence said in a regretful tone.
Arlan shook his head and smiled. This guy was so outgoing. "That's not possible. Only family members can enter that place."
Terrence stared at him strangely when he heard his words. "Come on, buddy! Don't tell me your house is in Royal Territory?" He muttered jokingly.
"Yes, I live there." Arlan nodded his head.
Terrence's eyes widened when he saw Arlan nodding his head. "What did you say?!"
Only the richest people in country of Maharlika could afford to live in that place. His family also owned a mansion there, but it was only among the cheapest mansions. Still, it was valued in millions of dollars.
"Let's talk later. We're already here." Arlan chuckled as he knocked on the door.
"You may enter." Luke's voice could be heard inside the office.
Arlan ignored the shocked Terrence and entered the office. He saw Luke going through a bunch of documents. "Good morning, Uncle Luke!" Arlan greeted with a smile.
Luke lifted his head and smiled joyfully upon seeing Arlan. Because of this young man, he managed to preserve his image in front of the big bosses. "You're finally here! I've been looking for you since last night! Come here and take a seat." Luke said as he pointed at the seat in front of him.
Arlan sat down and said. "I'm really sorry for not informing you, Uncle Luke. I visited my new home last night and I didn't have the time to go back here."
"So that's what happened. Anyway, let's talk about the unit that I promised you. Have you chosen which unit you'll take?" Luke smiled as looked at the young man in front of him. He put on his glasses and realized that Arlan seemed to have changed a lot. He exuded a sense of maturity unbefitting his age and there was also this chilling calmness in his eyes.
Luke didn't say anything, but his perception of Arlan took a drastic change. 'This young man isn't simple!' He thought in his heart.
Arlan didn't want to sound greedy so he responded with a smile. "To tell you the truth, I still haven't chosen which unit to take. You're the expert in this, Uncle Luke. I'll let you do the choosing. Just give me the documents and I'll sign them immediately."
Luke leaned on his chair and rubbed his chin. He looked at Arlan with interest. "Oh? In that case, I'll give you the best unit of this hotel, room number 66. I'll send you the paperwork soon."
"Thank you, Uncle Luke!" Arlan didn't expect that Luke would actually give him the most expensive unit in the hotel!
"You're welcome!" Luke chuckled.
