Chapter 339: Gifts are Something to Shut Up those Who are Unfavored

When the matter in Paris was settled, half of August had flown by. When Yun Xiangxiang was back in China, it was already night time on the eighteenth.

“You are finally back.” Su Xiuling was already here in early August. Yun Xiangxiang promised to return by mid-August at the latest, but she delayed it until the latter part of August.

“Mom...” Yun Xiangxiang pounced and hugged Su Xiuling as she kissed her mother on the cheek.

When she talked to them on the phone when she was in Paris, Yun Xiangxiang told them she was busy with many things. It was fortunate she had three endorsements to settle, or else it would be hard to explain to her parents.

She couldn’t let them know the reality of what happened. No matter how reasonable Yun Zhibin and Su Xiuling were, they were still her parents, so they would only think about Yun Xiangxiang and blame Song Mian for the things that happened.

Yun Xiangxiang didn’t want them to know the dangers she had gone through either.

“Hmph.” Yun Xiangxiang was reading the papers in the living room. This was already an incorrigible habit.

His daughter could still be close to his wife after she had grown, but she couldn’t do the same thing with her father, so Yun Zhibin was feeling jealous.

“Dad, I prepared a gift for you!” Yun Xiangxiang immediately went over to Yun Zhibin and hugged his arm in an attempt to please him.

“I don’t want any gifts.” Yun Zhibin pulled his hand away and put some distance between him and her. “Beijing’s summer is sweltering. We wouldn’t have come if we knew about this.”

Song Mian was of course together with Yun Xiangxiang. “Hello, auntie. Hello, uncle,” he greeted them to save his girlfriend from this predicament.

“Why are you two together?” Yun Zhibin looked at Song Mian, and he was already guessing that Song Mian caused Yun Xiangxiang’s delay.

Yun Zhibin was right. In a way, it was because of Song Mian, but it wasn’t because she was frolicking around in Paris with him.

“We are with her too.” Song Meng and Li Xiangling ran upstairs after placing their luggage on the first floor.

Yun Xiangxiang breathed a sigh of relief since she could explain herself now. “Ah Mian came to get me in mid-August.”

“Okay, we get it.” Su Xiuling glared at Yun Zhibin before speaking softly, “Did you have dinner during your flight? I made a lot of dumplings today, and they’re already in the fridge. I’ll cook them for you now.”

“We had dinner on the plane,” Song Meng kindly stopped Su Xiuling.

“They have meals at this hour?” Su Xiuling doubted.

It was only seven now, and they would have to take an hour to get here from the airport. Yun Xiangxiang and her friends must have disembarked around four in the afternoon, and they had to wait for their luggage.

“Mom, international flights are different from domestic ones,” Yun Xiangxiang quickly stopped Song Meng.

Li Xiangling pinched Song Meng quietly. She understood that even though Yun Xiangxiang’s parents knew about Song Mian’s existence, they probably thought he was just a typical rich guy.

They should keep things like having a private jet as a secret for now.

They couldn’t hide this forever, but when her parents acknowledged Song Mian, they wouldn’t be so averse and worried about minor details like this.

“Xiangxiang!” Yun Ting broke free of Yun Lin’s hands and trotted over to pounce at Yun Xiangxiang’s legs.

“I have missed you so much, my little cutie pie.” Yun Xiangxiang bent down to pick up Yun Ting before kissing his cheeks twice.

Since Su Xiuling started sharing Yun Ting’s daily life, Yun Xiangxiang loved this brother more and more. She thought he was unbelievably adorable.

“Hmph.” And now Yun Lin snorted.

Yun Xiangxiang went to Yun Lin—who was playing with the cat—as she hugged the heavy Yun Ting. “I brought a gift for you.”

“So, you’re using gifts to console those who aren’t loved?” Yun Lin questioned.

Yun Xiangxiang felt awkward.

She seemed to say the same thing to her father after kissing her mother, and now she said the same thing to Yun Lin after kissing Yun Ting.

“I think that must be the case,” Yun Zhibin backed up his son.

“You’re already this big, so can you not be so childish?” Su Xiuling had to stand on her daughter’s side.

“Mom, I’m not sixteen yet, so I’m still a child,” Yun Lin justified his actions.

Yun Zhibing supported Yun Lin. “The older you grow, the more childish you get. So I’m growing normally.”

“Heh, so you two are getting bold now, huh?” Su Xiuling snorted.

Since there were no outsiders here, Su Xiuling wouldn’t stroke this pair of father and son’s ego.

Yun Lin reacted the quickest and grabbed Yun Xiangxiang’s hand immediately. “What’s my gift, Xiangxiang?”

“Yun Ting is getting heavier, so don’t just hold him. Go and unpack...” Yun Zhibin pretended to be reminding his daughter.

Song Meng and Li Xiangling were holding back their laughter.

Song Mian had incredible self-control, and he kept a polite smile.

Yun Xiangxiang put Yun Ting down, but the plump little boy didn’t want to, and he grabbed on to his sister’s hand,

“Yun Ting, Little Fairy wants to play with you.” Yun Lin immediately showed his brother the cat.

Little Fairy meowed.

Yun Ting was trying to choose between his sister and the cat who was purring discontentedly. He thought Little Fairy was pitiful, as Yun Ting’s brother dumped her.

If he abandoned Little Fairy too, she would be even more forlorn, so he got off from Yun Xiangxiang’s embrace and hugged the reluctant cat.

He turned around and noticed that his sister had been dragged away by his brother.

Yun Ting looked at Little Fairy, and then he looked at his missing sister.

The truth finally dawned on him: Little Fairy wasn’t the only one abandoned; he was too.

A sad Yun Ting took Little Fairy and hid in a corner as he brushed Little Fairy’s hair, looking lonely.

His silent appearance made him look like the world abandoned him, and it made anyone who saw him feel guilty.

Song Mian squatted in front of him. “Is Little Fairy adorable?”

“She is.” Yun Ting nodded.

“Who is cuter: Little Fairy or Yun Ting?” Song Mian asked.

Yun Ting thought about it seriously before answering, “Yun Ting.”

“Meow!” Little Fairy meowed in protest.

Song Mian patted the cat’s head. “Yun Ting is a cute boy. Your brother and sister love you, and they’re just getting you your gift.”

“Gift?” Yun Ting’s eyes lit up. His eyes were similar to Yun Xiangxiang’s, but it was a pair of obsidian eyes.

“Gift.” Song Mian nodded smilingly.

Yun Ting didn’t feel sad anymore, as he also had a gift. He took Song Mian’s hand and went to the living room.

Yun Xiangxiang came down with Yun Lin, who had changed into a tuxedo. Yun Lin’s gift was that tuxedo. It was an elegant blue and crimson crisscrossing stripes. He was wearing a white shirt inside, and there was a blue jewel in the middle of the red bow tie.

Yun Lin even styled his hair and put his hand in the pocket in an attempt to look cool. He came down the stairs while holding the railing, looking full of himself.

“Nice.” Unexpectedly, Yun Ting was the first one to praise.

Yun Xiangxiang went past Yun Ling and gave her parents and Yun Ting the gifts she had gotten for them.
