Chapter 338 - Won
Chapter 338: Won
When she got the news from her spy at Bhamra’s place, Faye was infuriated.
Why did Song Mian choose someone so useless when he had so many great women to choose from? That was what she thought.
She admitted that Yun Xiangxiang was gorgeous, but Faye wasn’t ugly either, and there were girls prettier than Yun Xiangxiang pursuing him.
She was unwilling to accept this reality, as she was defeated by someone whom she thought could be easily disposed of.
“Faye, Yun is an excellent girl. From this moment onward, I hope you can learn how to put aside that mindset of yours and learn how to respect her, as you will be respecting yourself at the same time.”
After Eric took a while to remind Faye of how she should behave, he turned around and slowly left.
“Father!” Faye called him when Eric was at the door. “Am I still your daughter?” Tears welled up in her eyes.
“Of course.” Eric turned around. “You will always be my beloved daughter, no matter what kind of wrong you committed.”
He gazed at Faye before turning around and left. Before he could go far, he heard Faye’s sorrowful cry.
As her father, he felt gutted, but he couldn’t do anything. He only hoped she could understand where she went wrong.
Yun Xiangxiang didn’t expect her next meeting with Faye would start with the latter looking like this.
She didn’t have any makeup on. Her exhausted face had a clean look, while her eyes were clear.
Faye looked different. Today, she was in her training attire, and Yun Xiangxiang was the same.
With the people from both sides as witnesses, they went into the ring, but Faye didn’t make any move. “I will serve my time,” she told Yun Xiangxiang.
Yun Xiangxiang thought she misheard it, and she looked at Faye in doubt.
Faye took a deep breath and looked at Eric. When her father gave her an encouraging look, she slowly turned back. “No matter the result of this match, I will serve my time. I will take responsibility for the mistakes I’ve made.”
“I respect that,” replied Yun Xiangxiang sincerely.
Faye said nothing, and instead, she bowed at Yun Xiangxiang. This was the respect a taekwondo practitioner would show to their opponents.
Yun Xiangxiang didn’t know how to perform these customs, and that wasn’t what she practiced, so she replied by clasping her fist with her hand.
As Faye was the challenger, she would make the first move. Faye shouted and sent a fierce kick at Yun Xiangxiang.
Her kick was fast, and it stirred up a small gust of wind as she attacked. Yun Xiangxiang knew she wasn’t Faye’s match when it came to speed in the first move.
It was fortunate she was flexible and had a light body, so it was easy to dodge but impossible to take that attack head-on.
When Faye kicked her, Yun Xiangxiang spun and kicked to block it.
When their kicks collided in midair, Yun Xiangxiang could feel a stab of pain coming from the spot of collision, reminding her of the gap in leg strength between herself and Faye.
Faye spun and sent another kick with her other leg. Yun Xiangxiang’s upper body moved backward.
Faye’s toes missed Yun Xiangxiang’s chin by a hair’s breadth, and she made another spin before landing on the ground.
She shouted once more and sent a whirlwind of flying kicks at Yun Xiangxiang.
Yun Xiangxiang had just found her bearings when Faye attacked again, so she raised her arm to block the kicks.
Ignoring her arm’s severe pain by this impact, she struck at Faye’s legs with her other hand.
Faye fell to the ground with a thud, but Yun Xiangxiang wasn’t in a better condition either. One of her arms felt powerless, and it kept her from making a follow-up attack.
Faye quickly leapt back up with her expression becoming stern.
Yun Xiangxiang swung her hands. Her gaze sank, and she made the first move this time, choosing to go for close-quarter combat, utilizing her speed to prevent Faye from using her kicks.
Yun Xiangxiang’s feint made Faye think that she had an opening, so she raised her right leg, but Yun Xiangxiang turned to her side and raised her arm to stop Faye’s movement, and turning her unbelievably flexible wrist around, she caught Faye’s leg.
Faye’s expression changed, and her other leg came flying as she attempted to escape Yun Xiangxiang’s restraints.
Yun Xiangxiang grabbed her leg and spun, using all her strength to toss Faye into the air and make a half spin. As she avoided her other leg, Yun Xiangxiang’s left hand chopped at Faye’s waist’s central point.
Yun Xiangxiang hit the bullseye, and Faye’s face contorted, falling to the ground as she lost her balance.
Yun Xiangxiang took advantage of the momentum and pressed down on her, using her strength to push down both of Faye’s legs. As she blocked Faye’s hand with hers, she used the other hand to clutch Faye’s throat.
Yun Xiangxiang might have caught Faye’s throat, but she didn’t use any strength, since Faye might die if she made one wrong move.
Faye could still resist, but she gave up. “I lost...”
Since Faye had conceded, Yun Xiangxiang let go of her throat, and after she stood up, she extended her hand to Faye.
Faye—who was on the ground—raised her head and looked at Yun Xiangxiang. “Don’t you hate me?”
“I’m not generous, but I don’t like to get into the nitty-gritty details when I wasn’t harmed,” Yun Xiangxiang answered honestly. “Besides, you are already facing your due punishment, so I’m just respecting my opponent. That is all there is to it.”
Faye looked at Yun Xiangxiang’s hand for a while before slowly grabbing it and let Yun Xiangxiang pull her up.
She gazed quietly at Yun Xiangxiang. “I am no match for you.”
She turned around and left. Today, she didn’t have that feeling of superiority, but Yun Xiangxiang saw a kind of release as she watched Faye’s back.
Song Mian was the first one to rush toward Yun Xiangxiang. He pulled her to the side and rolled her sleeves up.
There were obvious red spots on her arms. He took out the spray he had been preparing and sprayed her arm before massaging her.
“Ah!! It hurts, be gentle...” Yun Xiangxiang wanted to pull her arm out of Song Mian’s hands.
“If you don’t take the pain for a few minutes, you’re going to have to take it for a few days.” Song Mian didn’t allow her to escape, and he kept on massaging her with the same strength.
Only when Yun Xiangxiang was almost in tears from getting massaged did Song Mian roll down her sleeves. He turned around and saw her sitting there, unmoving. “Aren’t you leaving?”
“I don’t want to. My hands hurt.” Yun Xiangxiang harrumphed.
Song Mian was amused. He bent down and tried to take her in his arms, but Yun Xiangxiang quickly moved her feet away and didn’t let him take her from the knees.
“Please tell me what I should do to get you to leave with me, my dear girlfriend?” Song Mian still spoiled her nicely.
Yun Xiangxiang made a circle with her finger and pointed down.
Song Mian immediately understood what she was thinking, and he followed her request by turning around and squatting in front of her.
Yun Xiangxiang pounced on him happily. Song Mian almost fell forward, but it was lucky his hands were on the ground, supporting him.
Song Mian stabilized Yun Xiangxiang before standing up with her on his back, and they left without a care for anyone else.
Everyone else was speechless.
