Chapter 74: Life City

Chapter 74: Life City

Two days' time swiftly passed and the time of going to the Life City had arrived. At the moment, Ayaan was standing in front of the huge snow-white eagle. Though the eagle was tamed it was still giving an intimidating feeling. Ayaan could tell that this eagle was the great mage level beast.

Three people were standing beside the eagle, looking at him and Rebecca. Noor and Isobel came to them. Noor had already returned to the palace previously so she could prepare for the journey.

Ayaan looked at the emotionless face of Armori and went towards him, followed by ladies, "So, when are we going?"

"We are ready. It's you who is late." Armori replied and jumped on the eagle, "This is a sky eagle and a great mage level magic beast. It will fly us to Life City."

Ayaan had already guessed it previously so he didn't feel any surprise. Afterwards, everyone sat on the back of the eagle comfortably. The eagle's back was vast and many more people could sit on it if they needed to.

After everyone settled on its back, Armori commanded the eagle and it jumped towards the sky before flipping its wings.

In just a few seconds the eagle was in the clouds, the strong wind hit their bodies, forcing them to grab the soft feathers of the eagle. The group could see the capital becoming smaller and smaller as the eagle flew away, it didn't take long before it completely disappeared.

Finally, Ayaan turned towards Armori, asking, "How much time will we need to get to the Life City?"

"It will take three days at most if everything goes well. We have to cross three kingdoms and have to rest about two to three times before arriving at the Life city." After explaining, Armori went quiet and didn't speak any further.

Though four youngsters continued to talk among themselves. When the two suns started to disappear from the horizon, Armori instructed the eagle to land.

No far away they could see the small city. It didn't take them to go there. After arriving, though, they didn't want to cause any ruckus at the place, the people were still flabbergasted after seeing such a huge creature landed in the city.

At first, they thought the creature was going to attack the city but later they were able to see a group of people sitting on its back.

"You lead us to the inn in this city." Armori pointed at the middle-aged man and said in an arrogant tone.

The man's face turned pale when he heard the man. Seeing this Ayaan frowned but he didn't speak, if he wanted someone's help at least he shouldn't scare people with his ugly behaviour, Ayaan thought but didn't speak.

Gradually, the man led them to the inn with a shivering body, he didn't speak a single sentence till the end. When they reached the inn, Armori three a pouch towards the man, "Take this, it is your reward."

After taking the pouch, the man bowed to Armori again and again before running away. Nonetheless, the group didn't encounter any trouble there and after sunrise, the group as well departed from the place.

On the exact third day, the group saw the majestic city was standing in front of them. And from above it was looking even more amazing as if it was the city from the fairytale, but then, Ayaan realised that he was almost living inside the fairytale, anyways.

Before coming to this strange world, Ayaan had never thought that magic was a real thing. So for him, it was almost like a fantasy tale of grandma.

As the eagle neared the city, everyone was able to see the city clearly. The huge walls and vast gate were visible, a huge crowd could be seen at the gate of the city. It was almost like ants crawling from above.

However, Armorin didn't dare to fly in the sky for long and landed in front of the crowd. It was the territory of the Life Temple. No one could fly inside the city other than the people of the Life Temple, of course. Those from outside of the temple couldn't fly.

After the eagle landed, they also joined the queue with the other people in front of them. After waiting almost a whole day, the group was able to enter the city. Life City was different from the Doham. Here people could see the temple everywhere.

Though Ayaan heard about the Life Temple a few times before. He still didn't know who was their god. As he asked this question to Armori, the man's answer surprised him to a great degree, "They don't pray to any god. It is the leader of the Life Temple they pray to."

"Why would he want people to pray for him? Does he think himself a god or something, if that was true then why doesn't he go to the central reason?" Ayaan looked at Armori in confusion. The other three girls were also curious about this.

"If he wants to cross the death desert, he is fully qualified to try. But no one could say if he would be able to reach the central reason for sure. The death desert isn't as simple as people think about it. There reside horrible magic beasts, strong enough to tear apart even peak level Archmage. Why do you think someone would go to such a horrible place and leave his comfortable life?"

After hearing the reasoning of the man, Ayaan nodded as well. But there was still one thing which was bothering him, "Then why does he want people to pray him? That's why there are many temples. They are all the temples in which people pray him like a god."

Hearing Ayaan's question, everyone's attention turned towards Armori but the man didn't speak anything about it. 'It seems the matter isn't as simple as it looks', Ayaan thought.

Afterwards, the group went to the inn but after arriving at the place they were surprised to see the crowd. After asking a man who was beside Ayaan, the group smiled bitterly. It seems all those people were here to find a place to stay, but all the rooms were already reserved by the people who arrived before them.

"Do you want to find a place to stay?" As Ayaan's group was thinking about how they should deal with the problem, a voice sounded from the side.

Ayaan looked at the boy who was around the same age as him and asked, "Brother, do you know any place we can stay?"

The boy looked at Ayaan in surprise, he didn't think someone who came for the heavenly palace would talk to him politely. The boy said, "I know a place but I don't know if you will stay there. But if you want to stay there you have to buy some equipment"

Eventually, the group looked at the man strangely; now, they knew why this guy was here; he just wanted to sell his products.

"What type of place are you talking about?" a man from the crowd asked.

"If you want to know, just follow me.'' After saying, the boy started to walk.

Though not everyone followed the man, there were still quite a few people who were curious about the place the boy had talked about.

"Should we also go and check out the place?" Isobel looked at Armori. The man was the leader and their father had given him full authority to make the decisions, so she needed his permission to do anything.

"We don't have any choice, anyways. Let's check the place the boy had talked about."

After walking for five minutes, the group arrived in front of the vast open ground. A few people were trying to adjust their tents on the ground.

"One tent with five gold! And you can sleep comfortably inside it. Fast, fast, or you will only regret later when no tent is left!" on the side, the same boy who guided everyone here was shouting loudly.

Ayaan's group looked at the scene speechlessly. They didn't think this was the place the boy was talking about and the tent was the equipment.

"Cough Umm.. what should we do? Though I don't have any problem." Ayaan was the one who asked the question.

"I also don't have any problem." All the three girls said in unison. Which came as a surprise to Ayaan. He knew that Rebecca wouldn't have any problem with this arrangement. And he knew that Noor had lived in a worse condition than this with him previously. What surprised him was the decision of Isobel.

Anyways, he didn't linger on that thought, he was happy that everyone agreed.

"Okay, let's stay here then," Armori said and gave a pouch of gold coins to Ayaan and asked him to buy the two tents.

After setting their tents, three girls went into a single tent, and Ayaan had to sleep with Armori. Though he was reluctant and wanted to cuddle with his ladies, he didn't have any choice in this matter. Armori was still looking at him with a cold gaze. So after giving a last look at the girl's tent, Ayaan went to his tent.
