Chapter 135: Has The Worse Ended?
When Jane woke up in the morning, she felt refreshed, but only then did she realize the gravity of what had happened.
Kyle was nowhere to be seen but she expected this because he was a busy person.
He was probably at work already but that meant she had the house all to herself.
Jane didn't even know what to do but was soon startled by a noise outside the room.
She was skeptical and frightened to a fault, she couldn't move even though the only person that could be in this apartment was Kyle,
But what if he wasn't? That was the only question in her mind and she froze at the thought of it, she couldn't move an inch.
However, her tense frame soon broke the moment Kyle came into view.
"Hey beautiful," Kyle's voice was soft and involuntarily brought a smile to her face.
She couldn't believe she was worried when her superhero was here.
"Y-You are here…" Jane stuttered, Kyle was worried that how she looked at him would change because he had blood on his hands but her gaze was softer.
"I am. Did you want someone else to be here? Maybe Ella?" Kyle asked but before Jane could respond, Ella spawned beside him.
"You had to ruin it…" Kyle muttered to himself the moment Ella came into view.
Jane's face lit up, she was ecstatic and Kyle knew that while she liked his company, she would need a face more familiar than his.
Jane sprung up to her feet and ran to embrace Ella, she was so excited to see her.
Kyle looked at them with a smile on his face, he was glad that Ella was here.
"It all worked out in the end," Kyle thought to himself.
Ella looked at him, she was glad that Kyle could save her friend the way he did even though she didn't get the full details.
She knew that Mike had died that night and there was no other person who could do it but Kyle.
"Well, I made breakfast," Kyle informed the ladies and Jane's eyes lit up, she loved food.
Ella admired his house and was impressed by how well put together it was for a bachelor, his fridge was stocked to the brim with different ingredients.
It wasn't canned food either and this meant that all his meals were cooked, something most men didn't do as ordering takeout was a lot easier.
"You cook?" Ella questioned.
"I suddenly sound like your dream man, don't I?" Kyle teased her but that was met by an eye roll from Ella.
Jane chuckled, she was glad that they were both getting along, this was the first man that Ella had approved.
Kyle was truly special if it took a little over thirty minutes for them to not only eat but have their stomachs bloated like pregnant women.
"T-That was amazing!" Ella confessed, rubbing her stomach like a pregnant woman.
Unlike Jane who was shy, Ella had no shame.
They were opposites and Kyle could see why they were so close.
Jane was embarrassed by her friend's behavior but a look at Kyle told her that Kyle had no problem with Ella being her true self.
"Jane, are you planning to come back home anytime soon?" Ella asked but this question confused Jane because she thought that she was only staying for the night.
"She might end up staying here forever if you aren't careful," Kyle teased but this made Jane's thoughts spiral out of control.
"M-Me? Living with Kyle!?" She thought and in no time, her face went red.
"Jane is staying here with me for a while. I need to make sure she's alright," Kyle added but the tone he used to convey this message was serious.
Jane hadn't discussed this with him prior but she would love staying with Kyle for a few days.
Ella didn't oppose it, she needed some privacy either way and with the house all to herself, she could invite a fine gentleman back if she saw one that caught her eye.
She hasn't been laid for so long that if cobwebs were down there, she wouldn't be surprised.
This was a needed break and Kyle proved himself to be a man who could take care of Jane in ways she couldn't even think of but their little party was interrupted by the doorbell.
Kyle wasn't expecting anyone but he went to answer the door either way as he had nothing to lose.
He realized when he was returning that night that Mike was going to get a second person, it couldn't be Ella or he would have just taken her with Jane.
This would also prevent Ella from calling for help which she ended up doing but there was no way that it was Calista at the door.
She wasn't even aware that he had been discharged so this was him grasping at straws.
Kyle knew that things would be bad if it was Calista and this was part of the reason he didn't want her to know where he stayed.
It was to avoid situations like this but it was too late, Kyle looked through the peephole and saw that it was Priscilla.
She was with her partner this time and Kyle was surprised to see her here in the first place.
They had on their cop uniform and everything, Kyle didn't want this kind of attention drawn to him.
Thankfully, to them, he was an average citizen with no criminal record so he didn't need to be on guard.
He knew they were here for the event that had just concluded, it was in his power to give them all the information that they needed.
He didn't need to worry and this was why he opened the door to let them in.
This gave him a certain level of freedom with Ella and Jane present, if anything, this was the perfect opportunity to entertain them.
"Welcome officers, I'm surprised to see you both," Kyle greeted.
The volume of his voice alerted the women in the room with him, Jane and Ella immediately joined Kyle at the door.
"Is this a good time, sir?" Oliver took charge of the conversation, noticing the two women standing behind him.
"Please, come on in," Kyle moved aside, allowing them entry into his home.
He preferred them to Calista in all honesty as he didn't have the energy to start explaining who Jane was so this was for the best.
-
Calista was back on set and the fact that her mood had changed showed just how much of an impact Kyle had on her.
Lorenzo helped her out and she knew she owed him because there was no way she could have done this without him.
The shooting went smoothly and Calista was able to express far more emotions in the role because her feelings were still on a high.
Even Lucas was surprised by how she portrayed these scenes, it wasn't present in their previous scenes.
This was why he used this opportunity to record additional scenes while she was still in this state.
But that didn't mean he could overwork them as they were working by the hour and the last thing he would want was to burn them out.
"Calista! That was amazing!" Lorenzo praised her. This was top-tier acting that got acknowledgement all around.
She had shown a glimpse of her potential and Lucas knew that he might have a gem on his hand.
Calista texted Kyle after the break and got no response, Kyle must be tired considering he was still in the hospital or at least that's what she thought.
This allowed her to focus her attention on work as there was no other reason for her to be distracted when everything in her life was going so well.
This was going to be a movie that brought her to fame but Calista was still unaware that this was happening because of Kyle.
There was no telling how this would affect her relationship with Kyle once it came out because he couldn't keep it hidden forever.
-
Isabella was stunned to wake up to a check of a couple of millions in her account but it was sent directly to her account.
This was shocking, to say the least, but she knew it had to do with the Agency.
There was no way he gave her this money for personal use and Isabella worried that if she called him, it would make her look unprofessional.
Isabella had filtered out the people who tried to enter the Agency as they had dodgy past records that automatically disqualified them even though they tried to grease her palms but with someone as rich as Kyle.
There was no reason why she would need to take these fees when they weren't short on money.
Isabella liked where this was going and judging by the growth this Agency had reached in the space of a couple of weeks, it was now in the top 800.
