Chapter 27
C27 – Xu Linshan
As Qi Ning walked, he mulled over ways to make money.
For him, making money had become an urgent matter.
This was particularly true now, with less than half a month until the college entrance exams.
“A milk tea shop?” he mused, eyeing the numerous milk tea shops lining the street. “If I had the money to invest in one, wouldn’t it be better to just pay my tuition?”
He was looking for a way to make money without any investment, yet still turn a significant profit.
Truth be told, if such an opportunity existed, others would have seized it by now, so it wouldn’t be his turn.
As he neared the meeting place, Qi Ning still hadn’t come up with a viable idea.
At the center of Wealthy Plaza, Fu Nian awaited Qi Ning’s arrival.
Seeing Qi Ning approach alone, a smug look spread across Fu Nian’s face.
Joy KTV was just a short walk from Wealthy Plaza, a mere four or five minutes away.
Gazing at the deserted KTV lobby, Qi Ning expressed his confusion, “It’s the weekend, why is it so empty?”
Fu Nian, prepared with a response, assured him with a smile, “Maybe people haven’t arrived yet. Typically, the weekend crowd at KTV shows up after lunch.”
Qi Ning nodded, only half convinced.
Up in a private room on the third floor of the KTV, Pei Liang was heatedly discussing something with a middle-aged man.
This man was Xu Linshan.
“He also said that you’re nothing to him. He claimed that if you show up, he’ll give you a thrashing,” Pei Liang relayed with dramatic flair.
Pei Liang was well aware of Xu Linshan’s temperament.
Xu Linshan had long since evolved from a mere street thug. Since opening the KTV, he had largely distanced himself from the criminal underworld.
He kept Pei Liang around for those special occasions when he needed someone disposable to handle certain tasks.
“Are you telling the truth?” Xu Linshan asked, his expression darkening as he took a drag from his cigarette.
Despite rising to the rank of gang leader, his character and temperament remained largely unchanged. Known for his volatile nature even as a small-time thug, his temper only intensified with his new position of power. He was particularly prone to outbursts when others disrespected him.
”I’m speaking the truth,” Pei Liang affirmed with conviction. “This guy is incredibly arrogant. He shows no respect for you whatsoever.”
Pei Liang’s ability to thrive under Xu Linshan’s leadership was largely due to his deep understanding of Xu Linshan’s personality.
“Fine,” Xu Linshan responded, snuffing out his cigarette. “Scorpion, go see him.”
From the shadows behind Xu Linshan, a muscular young man emerged. His physique, clearly the result of regular workouts, exuded strength. Yet, more intimidating than his muscular build was the scar stretching from his brow to his chin.
The mere sight of Scorpion was enough to send shivers down the spine of most people, leaving them too frightened to even think of resistance.
“Has he arrived?” Scorpion asked with a deep, resonant voice.
Pei Liang nodded, replying, “I just got a text; he’s entered 888.”
