Chapter 19
C19 – Fu Nian
Qi Ning was well aware of who they were referring to as Pei and what Pei was set to do that day.
“Qi Ning, come out.” While Qi Ning was settling down to do his homework, he heard someone bellowing from the entrance of Class 3.
The entire class turned their attention to the doorway.
There, standing at the entrance, were the three individuals Qi Ning had previously bested, exuding an air of arrogance.
Subsequently, several students from Class 3 rose to their feet as one.
Qi Ning might not have been well-acquainted with these individuals, but he recognized them.
Fu Nian was a prominent figure at the school.
He was not only formidable in a fight but also excelled academically. He consistently ranked in the top thirty of his entire grade on exams and was always among the top ten in his class.
“The nerve of you Class 6 folks is growing,” Fu Nian remarked, eyeing the trio outside with a mocking tone.
The three looked back at Fu Nian with uneasy expressions.
Truth be told, they were intimidated by Fu Nian, having heard of his reputation to some extent.
But today was a different matter.
“We’re not here for you,” they said, careful not to provoke Fu Nian. Then, one of them pointed at Qi Ning and declared, “We’re here for him.”
Fu Nian gave Qi Ning a look of curiosity.
“Did he cross you?” Fu Nian didn’t know these three, nor did he know Qi Ning. But since Class 3 was his domain, he instinctively considered Qi Ning one of his own.
One of them stated boldly, “I’m here to tell Qi Ning that if he doesn’t apologize to us right now, we’ll bring a whole group to beat him up after school!”
This proclamation sent a wave of shock through Class 3.
Fu Nian shot the trio a look and furrowed his brow, “You’re actually going to call in outsiders to beat up one of our own students? That’s utterly disgraceful.”
The three paid no heed to Fu Nian, instead pointing at Qi Ning and demanding, “Apologize to us now, or you’re going to regret it.”
Qi Ning cast a brief glance at them before swiftly rising from his seat and making his way deliberately towards the classroom door.
“Apologize?” Qi Ning asked while walking, “What kind of apology are you expecting from me?”
The trio had clearly come to intimidate Qi Ning, but they lacked the power to back it up. As Qi Ning approached, memories of their previous encounter flashed before their eyes, prompting them to retreat with ashen faces.
“So, you want an apology?” Qi Ning inquired with an icy demeanor, “Exactly how should I apologize?”
Too preoccupied with backing away, the three couldn’t muster a response to Qi Ning.
“Are you afraid?” Qi Ning observed their timid behavior and scoffed, “Go tell your boss, Mr. Pei, to wait for me obediently at the school gate. I’m certain I can beat them again.”
With a dismissive wave of his hand, Qi Ning signaled that they were free to go.
The trio quickly tumbled out of the Class 3 classroom.
Noticing his classmates’ astonished expressions, Qi Ning chuckled and remarked, “It’s no big deal!”
Meanwhile, Fu Nian stood frozen, the gleam in his eyes wavering. Eventually, he rose to his feet and made his way toward Qi Ning.
His two buddies, who frequently hung out with him, trailed close behind.
