Yu Dong's words caused the antics of the Ying family to pause, they turned to look at her with expressions filled with shock.

"What do you mean by that? Why will we give you one thousand taels?" Old Master Ying looked at Yu Dong and questioned angrily, he was here to get money from her and not to bring money to her. So why would he take out one thousand taels?

No, if he had that much money why would he even come to look for Yu Dong? He would be living comfortably in his family house.

She was a head taller than Ying Tuanzi, causing the latter to look up at her.

She continued, "There were several wounds on his body and he was practically torn into shreds. If not for me taking out a huge sum of money, he would have died that night as his injuries were that severe, some of his wounds even festered you see?"

"That needed additional treatment," Yu Dong leaned down with a swoop causing Ying Tuanzi to step back instantly as she felt terrified of Yu Dong who seemed to be really weird and strong.

Yu Dong's smile widened and she crossed her arms in front of her. She shrugged and remarked casually, "You are stepping away from me like I am some monster that hurt my heart you know?" She then turned her gaze to the Ying family who stiffened. "Anyway, after the treatment, he ended up getting a high fever.

I did not want someone to die in my house and neither did I want to throw him out since I already wasted a lot of money on that mer."

"So, I had to take out another round of money and you know what?" Yu Dong's expression morphed into a sinister one as she stepped closer to Ying Tuanzi and stated, "Your brother needed a two-hundred-year-old ginseng to recover. That was quite a blow to my pocket."

T…Two hundred years old ginseng? That would have cost more than five hundred taels!

"That is diff…different," Ying Tuanzi stated with a stutter causing Yu Dong to chuckle.

"How is it different? The grace of saving one's life is something that not many could repay, however, that does not mean that they should never repay it," Yu Dong stated coldly. "Your brother sold himself to me because he did not have the money to redeem himself. However that does not mean that I did not tell him to go back, I asked him to go back home and bring money.

But instead, he begged me to take him as a slave, what does that tell?"

Yu Dong tilted her head to the side and cracked her neck as if she was suffering in pain. She rubbed the back of her neck and looked at the sky before dropping her head down and stating in an ice-cold voice, "It is enough to tell me that your family has never treated him like a person. Even if he went back home, nothing would have changed.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

You would have sent him back as soon as possible and asked him to think of a way to solve this mess. So why are you keeping up with the pretence?"

"You want money is that it?" Yu Dong reached out and pulled Ying Tuanzi towards her such that her face was right in front of her own. "Do you think that I am that much of a fool if you come knocking on my door I will take out money is that so?"

She threw Ying Tuanzi back, causing the latter to stumble and cough. Ying Tuanzi was scared of this woman in front of her but when she thought how uncomfortable and troubled their life had become, she couldn't help but say, "No matter what you say, that mer is my brother and his parents are alive. How can he leave our family and sell himself without our permission? That is him being unfilial."

"That's right," Old Master Ying helped his daughter up and looked at Yu Dong before stating in a cold voice, "That mer is my wife's son. He is supposed to follow her and after marriage, he should follow his wife. But he sold himself, this is him abandoning his mother and being unfilial. This is not something a mer should do!

He carries the name of his mother, so how could he follow another woman who has nothing to do with him?"

His eyes narrowed and he flared his nostrils before saying, "Are you forcing him to do something that he doesn't want to? I know that rich women like you have some weird likings."
