"That's not true!" Ying Tuanzi refused at once. She and her family did come looking for Ying Nan because they wanted Yu Dong to give them the money but that did not mean that she was going to let the entire village look down on them like this.

She immediately shook her head and then emotionally said, "Our family has been looking for my brother Nan Nan ever since he went missing. Even the entire village was looking for him," she relayed to the villagers while Yu Dong leaned against the doorframe and listened to the stories that Ying Tuanzi had come up with.

This was her favourite thing to do when people like the Ying family came looking for her.

"We were really worried about Nan Nan, but we had no idea where he went. We could only wait for some sort of news to come to us such that we would know that Nan Nan was alive and well."

However, the villagers were no longer as gullible. Under Yu Dong's guidance and teaching, they learned to keep a cool head and not their emotions sway. This was after getting bitten on their back by their relatives.

Some lost their money while others lost their saplings that were given to them by Yu Dong. The loss they have suffered because of letting their emotions get the best of them, the villagers knew better than that!

Ying Tuanzi stiffened upon hearing the words of the woman. She glared at the latter for being too nosy and digging deep in the matter which did not concern her. However, on the surface, she maintained a polite yet touching smile as she replied, "That's because he and our family had some differences in our opinion. My brother has been a hard-headed mer from the start and never listens to anyone."

Because Ying Tuanzi was used to blaming Ying Nan for everything that went wrong in her life, she did not find anything amiss as she pushed the blame on Ying Nan. In fact, she did it instinctively as Ying Tuanzi was not used to taking the blame.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

However, when the villagers heard her words, they all narrowed their eyes as they seemed to have realized what Ying Tuanzi said to them. This woman kept mentioning that she was worried about her brother but she also had no trouble mentioning that her brother was a troubled mer. Was she not worried about her brother's reputation getting ruined?

Everyone in the village knew how important the reputation of a mer was, if a family cared about their mer son ——even if that mer was rotten to the bottom, they would never say it in front of others as one single wrong word from the family could ruin the reputation of that mer.

And once the reputation of the mer was ruined, he would find it hard to get married.

The Ying family still did not realize what they had done, Old Master Ying immediately chimed along with his daughter and said to the villagers, "That's right. He is so troublesome what can we do? We have tried to be understanding but he always does what he wants.

We truly have nothing against him but Nan Nan, he is still upset with the fact that I took over the position of his father and hates me," he sighed and added, "It's hard to be a stepfather."

He wanted to earn some sympathy points from the villagers but they all looked at him with disgust causing Old Master Ying to be stunned. What was wrong with these villagers? He questioned in his mind.

Inside the house, Ying Nan was quaking with anger, he had been the one who suffered for years and yet that old mer was now blaming him? Why did his tongue not fall out of his mouth and onto the ground for spouting such lies?

"Calm down." Shen Li patted Ying Nan on the shoulder and then said to him, "There is no need for you to get angry with people like such, you will only give yourself high blood pressure and amusement to them."

"That's right," Chen Mi nodded as he placed a strawberry milkshake that had pink boba pearls inside of it and stated, "My wife is going to send them back crying, don't worry. The quieter she is the more spicy her words will be later on."

Ye Liu chortled upon hearing Chen Mi's words but he nodded and agreed with him, "That does sum it up, Dong Dong is someone who knows how to shut someone up once she opens her mouth. Don't worry she will deal with that family of yours in a jiffy."

On the other hand, Fang Chi sipped on the milkshake and then said to Chen Mi, "You have really perfected this, Brother Mi. I have never tasted something this good before. I bet Dong Dong will make you the head of beverages in the new bakery that is yet to be opened."

He changed the topic of the conversation and soon Ying Nan was no longer paying attention to his family but to the delicious strawberry boba milkshake!

Yu Dong, on the other hand, watched the Ying Family's performance for a while. She waited for a while and then clapped her hands, causing the Ying family to turn silent. They turned to look at Yu Dong who was clapping her hands and were speechless, what was she thinking? Why did she suddenly start to clap?

"What a touching family relationship you have, truly it touched my heart," Yu Dong said sarcastically as she wiped a fake tear from the corner of her eyes. "Then …you have no problem repaying me a thousand taels right?"
