Chapter 135: Temur
It was a simple thing, since everything she was looking at is mana then shouldn't she be able to control it? The problem is that she didn't have that kind of power to control external mana.
Since she can only control mana from inside then she let Carel get close to her before she sprayed what came out like a blast mist of blue mana.
Carel entered the mist as it it was nothing and indeed it was, only that it still has her internal mana and she have control over that.
"Pause." Litha said and the mana mist trembled, Carel's form was condensed and froze for two seconds but that was enough because that was when a blast of hot mana take his head off like a spoilt watermelon.
Immediate the darkness peeled away as life left him and she breath a sigh of relief. She couldn't believe that work, many she should improve it into her fighting style. She watched the blood gush out of his head and she shook her head. "What an interesting ability. Very dangerous."
Honestly she didn't know why he attacked her when he could go after easier Awakeners. Maybe she looks weak. "Maybe." That's something she might look into later but for now!
She turned to the hopping rat lair and one big orb raised above her head, she placed it directly above the lair and grinned. "How many badges will I get from this? Maybe today is my lucky day after all."

Temur was sent inside a cave, fortunately he was alone and surprising there wasn't any other monsters nearby. That pleased him and he quickly made his way out into the forest.
"Let's see, I should at least see some trail here that I can trace to some monsters lair... wait." Temur frowned. Is this possible? He began to walk around the forest, his head down and his brows furrowed with each steps he took. "How's it possible that there's no tail to follow?"
"In this type of forest with a big good cave there." It was already a big surprise that there's no monster living in that cave but to think outside will be deserted as well.
Temur finally gave his weapon a name, Ferros. And he changed it from a bar on his right hand to a sword. "No monsters here can only mean this is a territory of a much stronger and bigger monster. Or a pack have made this their territory."
He quickly made his decision, should he hunt the monster or get out of here quickly? He made his decision and climbed the tallest tree near to him then he took a deep breath and then let it out in an ear splitting scream.
It echoed through the forest and carried far. If this is indeed a monster's territory, it'll come here to investigate and when that happens. Temur adjusted himself on his branch, crouching and trying his best to remain still.
Time passed and he actually thought maybe he had mistaken because for almost one hour no monster appeared and just when he was about to climb down he felt something tingle down his spine and before he even gave it another thought he was already leaping into another tree as with a great push to his legs.
Before he jumped he felt the wind stirring behind him and then the tree he was before exploded in a shower of splinters. He turned and they started at each other. Monster and Awakener. They both knew that the monster have played its most powerful hand and lost.
The monster is shaped like a very large tiger but it's skin is like tough leather and it's mouth bigger. This monster must specialize in stealth because how can it get above him without him knowing.
Temur frowned and then just on instincts, he made Ferros to cover his whole body in black armour. Then he scanned the area while he kept an eye on the one in front of him. "Are you alone? Possibly all the monsters run from this area because they don't know what's killing them. You must have been quite the hunter."
They locked eyes and then almost as one they jumped, down! Immediate they reached the ground they leaped at each other and claws, fangs met metal.
They rolled, each trying to get the upper hand. The rule of this for Temur is to make sure the monster's head doesn't get to anywhere close to his vital organs. Because some monsters might have the jaw strength to tear through metal and reach his flesh.
But the monster is a weak one so he made a small dagger appeared on his fist and then punch it on the head and immediately the monster went still then to a single shining badge appeared next to it.
"Will you see that, my first badge."
Temur bent and checked the monster's body with his hand. "Lean meat, not much fat. I wonder how the meat will taste? Unfortunately I can't do that here."
He sighed but didn't remove his armour as he began to explore the forest. And he was right because another of the tiger monster jumped him.
By the time he killed two, Temur said outloud. "So I'm being hunted by a pack!" If not for the armour then he's sure he'll be seriously wounded by now because the monsters are so good at sneaking.
That must be how they dominate this place, not by raw strength but by simply getting good at killing. No matter how Temur tried he can't sense them at all even when they are standing in front of him.
Even powerful will fall if they don't see the attack coming.
At the end, Temur just let them find him because no matter how he tried he couldn't trace their lair. So he began wondering, just how do they do it? A secret ability or learned?
"It won't be bad to learn something like this." He said as he get ready to kill another of the monsters. "But at least for now you've provided me with many badges."
