Chapter 134: Stage 2
Litha raised her hand and at same time she made herself lighter while heavy at the same time. There's nothing more to say so she sent a bolt of mana at him.
The bastard didn't dodged he just stand there until it was close ti him but then thread of darkness and moonlight rose up in front of him. Protecting him.
Litha raised her brows. "Interesting." She said, especially when she saw his Codex. A big ball of darkness but with small silver light like the star.
He brought out a sword and looked at, his face returning to that smile again. "Skill, dark night without stars."
His Codex exploded outward, rolling out darkness that blanketed their surrounding so thickly it made night out of day. Litha began to analyze the mana structure and she gasped at how complex it is but that's not to bad.
From what she can tell, the darkness is also a form of shield that's keeping her. So Litha did the only thing she should do, she splited her mind into two and this was only possible with the help of the artifact that her Codex absorbed– part of King Solomon dairy.
With one working to analyze the spell so she can look for weak points she focused on the attack that she knew was coming. She saw the elve smile at her from the side, his face shining like the moon. "Welcome to my night. In this place I control everything, you won't be able to escape and no one can interfere.
His eyes shone with madness. "I will fight you! Oh I'll do lots more under the star filled night."
While the part of her mind was wondering if she can successful analyze the complex skills, can she replicate it? Mimic it? Since her power is basically to control mana. The higher she reach, the more she'll have firmer grip on how to control it mana! Then shouldn't replicating be possible?
For now though, she focused on the skill. A combination of darkness and star. His Codex must be rare at least! Time to look for weak points.
Litha smiled. "I'm afraid I can't allow you to....?!"
Her left shoulder flared with pain and she looked down blankly, a thread of darkness was sewing her shoulder into the wall of darkness. "When did I get pushed to the wall?"
"I told you I control everything here. Everything! I'll sew your flesh with my darkness and then I'll have time fight you and.... " his face flushed and he giggled.
Litha's face darkened, she hates when people force her to do what she didn't want to do. It triggers something dark locked away, somehow her mind shy away from like plague. "You want a fight? Then I'll give you one."
Sometime people don't know just how high there her Codex is, second only to Jael from the people close to her. Blue mana crawled cover her body, cutting away the darkness. As at level she can has absolute control over the mana inside her and just above her skin.
But that's enough for her. She heat up her internal mana then she brought it out, she kept adding and adding more power until the mana was now a bit orb standing above her.
She looked at him calmly. "I should analyze your spell? Fuck that. I'll just kill you."
The orb of mana throbbed with power, it ripped and then splited into different parts, each the size of fist. She gestured and the small mana balls shot off, tearing into the darkness and even the smiling Awakener.
"So it's like that." Litha said with a narrowed eyes as she watched him, where there should be blood only darkness bleeds through.
"Ahahaha, impressive. You should know my name, you are worthy." Part of his face that was eaten away by the attack joined together with darkness and became smooth skin. "Call me Carel. But have you forgotten that everything here, including me is under my command?"
Litha smiled. "And what if I keep that up?"
She gestured and continuous streak of mama balls that lit up the darkness and made the air trembled with heat and blasting power that tore into Carel.
And yet the bastard continue to laugh, even as multiple holes appear his body and darkness boiled out, joining with the one outside. "Continue! Do more! Do more! You can send more of it until you are dry of power."
Litha stops firing and took a deep breath. The second part of her brain was telling her, 'everything here is made of mana, the darkness and Carel. So it's like shooting into air'
As Carel condensed back into his shape she was thinking if she should attack will physically but she doubt it would work. This is why Litha don't like fighting things that don't have physical form.
She gritted her teeth. 'Alright, even though some don't have the strongest Codex, they do have very unfair one'
Carel nodded as if he's following her train of thought. "Yes, do you think you can beat me? You will be here until my power runs out. How about this, star fall!"
The star gathered above flared with power and then shot downward like rain. Litha smiled, something like this can't touch because she can make herself lighter and then faster.
She ran...tried to because chain of darkness now tied her legs and all she could do was watch the stars hit her, and in a rush she constricted a shield above her head.
The attack left a big dent in her shield but it protected her all right. "You bastard!"
Carel chided her. "Don't be like that. See, I'll take care of you with this sword." Then he raised the thin sword and began to walk towards her, taking his time.
Litha stopped analyzing the shield and brought the full force of her mind on thinking of a way to defeat him. She smiled as if there's a joke they're both sharing. "I think I've found out just how to take care of a rat like you."
