Chapter 133: Chapter 133: The Truth of the Legendary Stone of 'Immortality'!
"Eternal life!
His objective was to find a way to achieve immortality.
That person started studying the nature of the human body and its connection to magical magical energy.
He soon realized that in order to live longer he needed to increase his life force which coincidentally magic energy also nourished the source of our long life.
The higher the amount of magic energy a person can attain and control, the longer they live."
Elysia was intrigued by the information she had just received. She didn't think that even the people in Noah's world would also be obsessed with eternal life.
"So did he make this stone to attain immortality?! Was he successful?"
Hearing Elysia's excited voice, Noah could not help but chuckle.
"No he failed. That person died miserably in the war..."
"....."
His words dumbfounded the woman not realizing what was his point of telling this story if he was not the one who created this stone.
"The man died but left his research behind.
His life work was founded by another genius mage who studied it thinking that it was a work of transmutation and alchemy."
A look of pity flashed through Noah's eyes as he continued his words.
"The man was originally fine but as he progressed the initial stages of the research but soon it all changed….
He changed!"
By now Elysia was too engrossed in the story, she just silently listened to Noah's words.
"The guy changed because he found out the true potential of the research and where it was headed.
He also desired immortality. Who didn't! If someone knew about the effects of the stones, the royal families would wage wars without even needing a valid reason.
After finding this, his morals started to change. The man challenged his bottom line and started practicing on humans instead of magical beasts. He did that because the energies from the beasts did not seem efficient enough.
To accomplish this alchemy miracle, he killed an uncountable number of people before he was able to make a fully functioning Philosopher's stone."
"So he managed to achieve immortality?"
"No!"
"...."
'Again!' Elysia's lips twitched as she thought, looking at Noah with a little resentment in her eyes. Noah ignored her gaze and continued.
"There was no immortality to begin with!
It was all a sham, Yes his life force increased exponentially but it was not eternal. It only extended his life for a long time.
Even though not eternal he was happy that he got to live for a couple years more.
The poor guy did not even get to enjoy his long life before he was killed."
Elysia's eyes widened hearing the unexpected twist to the tale.
She thought that a person who was able to create such a miracle of forming a stone that could make someone 'immortal' must have been quite powerful.
But it turned out not only was the so-called immortality fake but he was also killed. Now another question aroused in the mind of the green haired beauty.
"What happened to the guy who killed him? Did he also take away his research?"
Noah raised his eyebrow hearing her words to her question. After a moment of silence he replied to her with a smirk.
"That guy is in front of you~"
"You!!!"
Elysia's eyes contained a hint of surprise. She never thought he would be the one who was killed but seeing the grain sized shard of ruby in his hands, she found it reasonable.
How else would Noah be able to succeed in creation of this stone if he did not have the recipe to this product.
"So this is something that can elongate someone's life?"
Looking at the crystal with curiosity Elysia could not help but mumble. She reached out to take it in her hand and Noah did not care much, letting her take it.
"Well it is a fake one to be exact. It would be odd if someone could create this stone just by using such a low amount of energy, which is also impure.
I was just experimenting to see if it was possible to create one using qi instead of magical energy."
Noah suddenly dropped the news like it was no big deal. He did not treat the lives of these low level people as humans.
He did not mean weak humans when he said low level people but instead he meant the low level trash of the human society who prey on the weak or the people without whom the world is a better place.
Elysia naturally understood his point of view and the reason he used that method to lure greedy people out.
"To this this was only an experiment, how many people do you even need to create the real thing?"
Elysia gave him the stone back while asking again.
Noah could not help but sign when he noticed that there was not a hint of caution in her voice.
It was not that she did not care about the people on her but she seemed to have some kind of unwavering trust that Noah would not harm people unreasonably.
He could not help but click his tongue in his heart. He wanted to use this opportunity to make her be cautious of him, so that she would let go of her obsession.
But it seemed like he underestimated the depths of her feelings and obsession.
"It's in the hundreds of thousands or millions."
The number made Elysia's eyes widened a little. Seeing her thoughtful expression Noah continued while pointing at the clothes of the people he had just killed left on the ground.
"Well it's only that amount if we are talking about people with the same cultivation as these."
Elysia came out of her thoughts and shook her head. She thought Noah was worried that she would misunderstand him as a bloodthirsty person, so she hurriedly explained.
"I was not worried that you might start a massacre but I was thinking where should I get that many people for you, there are only a couple thousand cultivators here."
What she did not know was that Noah wanted to create a little distance between and failed miserably.
It was Noah's turn to be speechless, he did say those words not wanting her to think that he would just kill everyone but Elysia's disappointed expression made him sigh at her antics.
He resolved his mind to never using such actions against this cute and innocent woman. He even felt a little ashamed of his own actions.
"So you are using that woman's revenge as a way to collect your materials. This is indeed a good plan~"
As if something clicked inside her mind, Elysia felt like pieces of puzzle coming in places. She could not help but look at Noah thinking for how long he had been planning this thing. Her eyes gained a hint of admiration and adoration towards him.
"Yeah, I wanted to use this opportunity to gain some of the people.
Since that sect has a lot of strong people they might cover a few percent of my requirements."
Noah immediately understood who she was talking about when she said 'that Woman'.
