Flashy Adventurer System : Show Off to Get Stronger!

Chapter 140: Colzen Avengers, Assemble : Adventurer Academy Competition Begins!

As the proud sun was high in the sky, various types and colors of fireworks exploded right beneath it, lighting up the heavens and changing the serious vibes of the city below into one of liveliness.

Percussion bands littered the vibrant streets, as glorious melodies resounded from their instruments, adding vitality to the already exuberant event.

The shopkeepers lament the empty streets as people from all directions excitedly converge in one area: Valenzia Arena, the venue of the Adventurer Academy Competition.

Although the first day was the day wherein the biggest losers of last year battled it out for a spot in the knockout stage, it was also the day when the biggest dark horses were born, a day of hope and defiance as low-tiered academies rise from the ashes and soared like a reborn phoenix.

Naturally, as a fallen academy, Colzen had to participate in the first day's matches.

Among 512 academies who had to fight on the first day, only 128 would be able to advance to the knockout stage which meant that an academy had to win two times before earning a spot.

"Yo, Kiin, you look nervous! Don't worry, you can rely on me!" David said in a joking tone as he tapped Kiin's shoulder as if he was consoling him.

"Haah? What the hell are you saying? Could it be? You're the nervous one?" Kiin retorted with a mocking grin on his face.

Shye smiled after hearing the usual friendly banter between his teammates.

It seems that most of them were as relaxed as always even though the deans currently have something important to do leaving only Instructor Fienna and a few other combat instructors as their supervisors.

Naturally, their arrangement made them stand out from the other 511 academies since their dean's seats were empty, looking extremely arrogant in the eyes of other academies.

It wasn't the deans' intentions at all though as they truly had something important to do in Valenzia City.

They believed that their representatives could pull through on the first day without them anyway.

"Hmmph! Isn't this Colzen Academy too arrogant? I heard that their convoy was unusually grand this year too…"

"Ha! Isn't it obvious that they're just desperate for attention after a horrible exit last year?"

Everyone in the Colzen Academy station heard mocking words from the crowd but this was nothing new to them so they simply ignored it.

The younger companion students weren't having it though, just a few more words away from picking a fight.

"Colzen Academy Representatives, please proceed to mini arena number 1 for your first match against Aritha Academy."

Fortunately, just before the companion students lost their cool, Colzen Academy was called for their first match, finally having an outlet to vent all of their frustrations.

"Oh? Look! The seniors are up!"

The Colzen Academy crowd was hyped, even though this was just the first day with no notable opponents, they were just so frustrated after hearing endless mockeries.

Even though a win against insignificant opponents wasn't enough to completely remove the frustration in their hearts, it was at least enough to lessen it.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the middle of the crowd near mini arena number 1, a group of students became the center of attention as the tough-looking bunch looked towards the group of Colzen representatives playfully.

"Hoh? Harper, are they the unlucky ones?" A student said.

"Haha yeah, one of these bastards named Crowley dared to humiliate that stupid Arnold. Although I don't give a single shit about Arnold, I just can't allow these mongrels to disrespect our illustrious academy like that."

"Ehhh~? But they don't look strong at all…Wouldn't this just be a boring chore?"

The group of students conversed as if Shye and the others were simply little fishies on a chopping board.

Ian Izanagi, who was yawning while walking along with Shye and the others, overheard the arrogant students' conversation and couldn't help but glare at them with a cold look.

Naturally, His movements quickly caught the attention of his fellow representatives, prompting them to turn their gaze in the same direction Ian was focused on.

"Hmm? Eusford Academy students? Why are these bastards staring at us?" Kiin muttered as veins popped on the sides of his head after seeing the annoying looks on the faces of the Eusford Academy students.

"Heh, I heard these arrogant shitheads mutter something about Crowley humiliating one of their fellow students back at Windleton City. We're nothing but a boring chore? I'll show these bastards who's the boring chore…"

Izanagi replied as the two groups of students stared at each other, attracting the attention of countless eyes.

Shye remembered the guy named Arnold who lost a sizable amount of his fortune to him during a bet back in Windleton City so he immediately realized that this group of students from Eusford Academy was out for revenge.

"Hey! Look! The Colzen representatives are having a staredown with the Eusford Academy students!"

"Hahahaha! These guys have gone crazy! They dare to challenge the illustrious Eusford Academy?!"

Obviously, the staredown of the two groups of students started a commotion, adding spice to the already spicy Adventurer Academy competition with lots of ongoing rivalries from various academies.

No matter how intense, all staredowns do come to an end as the referee warned Shye and the others that failure to arrive onstage in five minutes would mean disqualification.

Naturally, they had no choice but to look away first as they walked towards Mini Arena 1.

Seeing that their "prey" already left, the Eusford Academy representatives also left, uninterested in watching Colzen Academy's match.

In their minds, although the Colzen representatives dared to have a staredown with them, it was impossible for them to be on the same level as the Eusford representatives, and they were nothing but prancing clowns.

Seeing that their opponents had arrived, Aritha Academy representatives huddled together to pump themselves up and strategize on how to win.

"Allen, you go first, I heard some rumors regarding this batch of Colzen Academy students. Although they are one of the expected academies to advance to the knockout stage, we still have a chance. I'm sure they will underestimate us so we need to let our strongest representatives go first and take them out 3-0, understood?"

"Understood! Your Excellency!"

Going out with a solid plan, the warrior student named Allen jumped up the stage and introduced himself.

"Allen Perrin, fourth-year warrior student from Aritha Academy!"

"Siegfried Lionheart, fourth-year warrior student from Colzen Academy."

Seeing that the two competitors had introduced themselves, the referee waved his hands.

"Begin!"
