Chapter 35
C35 – The Mastermind!
“Let’s go, Mo Changyou. The White Tiger Heavenly Art ranks among the most elite Secret Arts in the Imperial Capital. You’re no match for him,” Tang Nuolan urged.
Fear gripped her heart as well. Despite her noble birth, the power she could muster now was pitifully small. And the aces up her sleeve, prepared for such a confrontation, were rendered useless with her meridians damaged.
She did not wish to die.
Yet, Mo Changyou stood his ground.
“Dragon Fist, Tiger Fist, Dragon and Tiger Fist!” Mo Changyou bellowed, showing no trace of fear.
His fists cut through the air, releasing three strikes in a flash.
The assassin’s Eldest Brother let out a scornful chuckle at the display.
“Those three punches of yours could instantly slay an average Energy Condensation Level 7 practitioner. You’ve channeled nearly a third of your Spirit Energy into them. Impressive meridians you must have, but they won’t save you from death!” The Eldest Brother’s tone turned icy.
“You killed my own brother today, and for that, you shall pay with your life! White Tiger Heavenly Art, White Tiger in the Sky!” he declared, as a colossal phantom of a White Tiger soared behind him, towering dozens of feet high. The aura emanating from him surged wildly.
Among those at Energy Condensation Level 8, his combat prowess was unparalleled.
“Really?” Mo Changyou replied with a calm smile, his handsome face radiating confidence.
“Die!” the Eldest Brother spat with a cold laugh. He unleashed a devastating punch, his fist aura now even more fearsome, imbued with the might of the White Tiger. Phantom White Tiger claws materialized on his arms, clashing with Mo Changyou’s fists.
The impact sent Mo Changyou hurtling backward. Against an Energy Condensation Level 8 powerhouse, a Level 5 practitioner like him was no match.
Despite Mo Changyou’s Grade Two talent and the dense Spirit Energy within him, the disparity in their strengths was overwhelming.
Thrust backward, Mo Changyou slammed his foot onto the earth, shattering a stone and steadying himself.
The unfolding scene had Tang Nuolan deeply concerned.
Mo Changyou’s Fist Technique, which depleted a third of his Spirit Energy, failed to kill the assassin’s Eldest Brother. The Eldest Brother merely staggered back two steps before regaining his composure, eyeing Mo Changyou with a chilling gaze.
”Today, your death is certain!” he scoffed. Once more, he summoned the White Tiger Heavenly Art, and the phantom of the White Tiger lunged at Mo Changyou, who stood still, unfazed.
Tang Nuolan was seething with frustration.
In the meantime, the Eldest Brother, now approaching with a smug grin, seemed confident in his victory.
“Energy Condensation Level 5? Though I misjudged your level, my strength far surpasses yours. Your end is nigh!” the assassin’s Eldest Brother bellowed.
But then, with just a subtle slicing sound, a tiny Flying Guillotine grazed the Eldest Brother’s neck, and he fell dead.
Mo Changyou shook his head, rifling through the belongings of the two assassins and pocketing their spirit stones into his Universe Pouch.
Tang Nuolan stood in shock. The once-boastful assassin was now lifeless. “Was it the Magical Equipment?” she wondered. It seemed improbable that an Energy Condensation Level 8 expert would fail to detect the Magical Equipment controlled by Mo Changyou.
“I purposefully channeled a third of my Spirit Energy earlier. I unleashed the Dragon Tiger Fist, leading the assassin to believe it was my most formidable attack. As he arrogantly moved to finish me, I activated the Flying Guillotine. He was mid-incantation, utterly unprepared. Unable to break his spell, he met his demise,” Mo Changyou explained softly. He didn’t need to see Tang Nuolan’s face to know her thoughts.
“I see,” Tang Nuolan acknowledged, her surprise evident. As a practitioner of Energy Condensation Level 8, she was like an insurmountable peak to someone at Level 5.
In that critical moment, Mo Changyou had to be thoroughly prepared—a daunting task.
“You truly are Second Master’s son, surpassing even him in skill,” Tang Nuolan remarked with respect.
When did the eldest daughter of the Tang family from the Imperial Capital ever give compliments?
Mo Changyou examined the two bodies. But as he was about to leave the area, he was struck dumb by the sight before him. A massive black Thunder Rhino had been drained of all its blood essence. Its face was etched with terror, as if it had encountered the most horrifying thing imaginable in its lifetime.
Moreover, Mo Changyou had come across the corpses of eight Spirit Fusion Stage Ferocious Beasts along his path. Each one had been completely drained of blood essence, their bodies withered and desiccated.
”Even the Giant Python has been slain, its blood essence completely drawn out. What sort of fearsome creature could have done this?” Tang Nuolan gazed at the enormous python and spoke. The python measured more than ten yards in length, with a girth as wide as a barrel and a head that stretched a full ten yards.
The Giant Python was a formidable presence among the Fusion Spirit Vicious Beasts. Yet now it lay dead, its blood essence depleted, having perished instantly.
