Chapter 5956: Daoist, Please Perform A Reading

Incense Daoist focused on the direction while Li Qiye had a relaxed expression with a blade of foxtail grass in his mouth.

The cart moved slowly and the daoist’s eyes were half-shut, seemingly letting the ox be the driving force.

“Daoist, please stop.” Someone stopped the duo.

“Huh?!” The drowsy daoist became startled and looked forward to see a girl standing in their way.

His eyes lit up as if he was looking at a radiant jade piece. She was young with flawless, well-moisturized skin.

She wore a simple, loose-fitting dress but this didn’t hide her particularly long and slender legs. She had a pair of gentle eyes and well-defined brows. Her nose was high and elegant.

Everything about her exuded an air of poise and grace. Her slenderness accentuated her curves, especially the snow-capped peaks piercing the clouds.

The beauty resembled an orchid in a secluded valley - a sight for sore eyes. Vulgarity and gaudiness couldn’t be found on her. While one admired her elegance, this perfection also kept them away. She stood alone in the valley, untouched by the stains of the world.

“Radiant Master. Greetings.” Incense Daoist jumped down the cart and greeted her.

She returned the gesture and glanced at Li Qiye, visibly surprised to see a mortal.

“Where are you and your disciple going, Daoist?” She asked, thinking Li Qiye was a newly recruited member.

“No, no, you misunderstand, Master. This is our Young Noble.” The daoist shook his head repeatedly.

This caused Radiant Master to stare at Li Qiye more. Although Heaven Calculating Observatory was in disarray, Incense Daoist was a capable cultivator.

His subservient act toward this mortal was perplexing. Nevertheless, she respectfully bowed: “My apologies, young Noble.”

Although she wasn’t a supreme cultivator or anything in Sin, she still exercised commendable humility.

“Daoist, could you perform a reading?” She asked with a slight frown, clearly troubled by something.

“Master, you must be joking. I can only use my tricks to survive in the mortal world.” The daoist said.

“You’re too humble, Daoist. Our sect has a matter requiring your assistance, would that be alright?” She hesitated for a moment before asking again.

“I do not dare.” The daoist shook his head and said: “I cannot handle such an important matter, I specialize in fortune-telling and predicting the future of mortals, that’s my limit.”

“Your divining skill is first-rate.” She said.

Regardless of their current situation, his sect was once the best in this field. Progenitors had come seeking their help in the past.

“While I appreciate your high evaluation, I have enough self-awareness to not show my meager skills.” He bowed after refusing again.

She became disappointed because she wanted him to help with a particular decision.

“Then I will not bother you any longer, Daoist.” She bowed and let out a sigh, still looking troubled like before.

“A member of the Longevity branch can look this exhausted?” Li Qiye sat up and asked with a smile.

She was surprised to hear a mortal talking so directly to a cultivator. Although she was no emperor, she was still the leader of a sect.

Others might take this as disrespect and dish out proper punishment. She, on the other hand, only found it perplexing.

“You may speak what’s on your mind with the young noble.” The daoist decided to help her out.

“Young Noble, could you elaborate?” She slightly bowed, showing more than enough respect to a mortal.

“I see your spirit is exhausted to the point of having meridians damaged.” Li Qiye shook his head: “Something unresolved is weighing on you, hence why you sought divination. The cultivation method of your Longevity branch requires mental and physical wellness, you must have been overexerting yourself in alchemy recently, not spending enough time recuperating. This won’t bode well.”

She was shocked to hear this because it described her situation and issues perfectly. Her mouth was wide open in disbelief.

Not even her closest disciples had a clue about her problems. In this split second, she felt as if she was completely naked before his eyes, causing her to become embarrassed and fearful.

“Thank you, Young Noble.” She didn’t dare to linger around.

There was no reason for her to be afraid of a mortal since she could kill him with one wave. Alas, the feeling made her want to run.

“See you later, Master.” The daoist waved goodbye before climbing up the cart again.

“You enjoy playing the fool?” Li Qiye asked.

“Of course not, Young Noble, no such thing is happening.” The daoist responded.

“You dared to divine matters regarding Poye, let alone something as trivial as her sect’s problem.” Li Qiye chuckled.

“Hahaha.” He smiled awkwardly in response.
