Chapter 2167 Godly Battle 2
Chapter 2167 Godly Battle 2
The battle raged on as the nine-headed nightmare hydra rampaged through Faulen City. In just half an hour, the godly beast had already laid waste to a quarter of the city, its destructive power unstoppable. Millions of terrified civilians fled the devastation, their once peaceful home now a warzone.
Despite the rising death toll, the viceroy's orders were clear: no lethal means were to be used. The priority was to restrain the Godly beast, not to kill it, in an effort to minimize harm to their patriarch. For the viceroy, the safety of the patriarch far outweighed the mortal lives and destruction caused. This directive placed an immense burden on balancing the need to subdue the beast while protecting themselves and their city.
The main defenders, the colossal Jormungand serpent and the Faulen general in his giant form fought valiantly. The Jormungand's scales shimmered darkly as it coiled and struck, attempting to hold the hydra in place. The general slammed his fists into the hydra's heads, trying to prevent it from advancing further into the city. Yet, despite their best efforts, they were continuously pushed back by the hydra's relentless assault.
Each of the hydra's nine heads moved with terrifying precision, blasting powerful energy beams and snapping at anything within reach. The ground shook with each clash, buildings crumbled, and the air was filled with the deafening roars of the battling Titans.
The formation masters, led by the Shaman Queen, were desperately trying to reform the protective barrier. Pillars of light shot up into the sky, and massive runes glowed beneath the hydra, attempting to lock it in place. However, the beast's immense size made it difficult to maintain the formation. Each time the barrier began to solidify, the hydra's heads would coordinate their attacks, shattering the magic with combined blasts.
Seeing the corpses of Faulen citizens strewn around him, the three cosmos general decided to unleash his cosmic power. With a mighty roar, he pushed the beast back half a mile, creating a temporary reprieve. However, his triumph was short-lived as one of the hydra's heads spewed a poisonous breath, engulfing him in toxic fumes. Another head swiftly coiled around his body, lifting him into the air and strangling him with crushing force.
Witnessing the dire situation, an elderly grand magus, the oldest among the Faulen elders, soared into the sky. A spirit master with a close connection to the patriarch, he decided to confront the beast directly. His voice echoed across the battlefield as he cried out,
"My Lord, please stop!!"
Channeling his spirit energy, he launched a powerful mental attack, forcing one of the hydra's heads to release the struggling general. However, the hydra's response was immediate and brutal. Multiple serpent heads lunged at him simultaneously. The old elder deftly dodged the first two attacks, his agility belying his age. But then a third head unleashed a frozen blast, striking him squarely and freezing his movements. As he struggled to recover, a fourth head closed in, its jaws wide open to devour him whole.
"NO!!" came a collective cry from the defenders below, their hearts sinking as they watched the elder's impending doom.
The old grand magus was not only the third grand magus victim of the battle but he was also a mentor figure to the viceroy. The painful sight made him turn a desperate gaze toward Spirit Master Severus, demanding results. The Wise King, however, could only shake his head in frustration. "Not only is the beast's mind filled with chaos, but the nature of the nightmare hydra forces me to tame nine divided entities to succeed."
Not willing to wait any longer, the viceroy made a decisive order: "Stop the beast at all costs."
Swiftly reacting to the viceroy's decision, a powerful figure darted across the chaotic battlefield. This was Sword Master Hirashi, a man renowned as one of the Ten Sword Emperors of the Magus universe. His presence commanded both awe and respect. As he moved with purpose, his hand grasped the hilt of his sheathed sword, his intent clear.
Drawing upon his sword domain, Hirashi's sword aura began to manifest. It seemed to suck the very essence from the air around him, concentrating an immense amount of power into a single, devastating attack.
With one swift motion, Hirashi unsheathed his sword, unleashing a blade strike that glowed with blinding intensity.
SPLAATT!!!
The serpent head that had devoured the elder was severed in a single, decisive strike. The massive head fell to the ground with a resounding crash, sending tremors through the earth. Dust and debris erupted from the impact, momentarily obscuring the battlefield.
Cheers erupted from the defenders, a surge of hope washing over them. However, among some, there was a flicker of anger. The patriarch was their revered leader, and the sight of such a lethal attack on him, even in his monstrous form, was jarring. Yet, with the viceroy backing Hirashi's actions, none dared to voice their dissent.
The Swordmaster wasted no time and joined the close-range battle alongside the other grand magus. His movements were a blur, his sword a lethal extension of his will. Each swing was precise, and each strike was calculated to inflict maximum damage while evading the hydra's retaliatory blows.
Meanwhile, two of the weaker grand magus moved quickly to the fallen serpent's head. As they dissected the decapitated head, they uncovered the heavily wounded elder. Seeing the fierce battle unfolding, the viceroy gained his resolve. Determined to end the hydra's rampage, he flew into the air, his body crackling with energy. He unleashed his lightning domain, causing the sky to darken ominously. Thunder rumbled, and moments later, multiple serpent-like bolts of lightning blasted into the massive beast.
BAMMM!!! BAMM!!! BAMM!!
Each strike of lightning sent shockwaves through the battlefield, momentarily staggering the hydra. Its heads thrashed wildly, but the relentless assault continued. Answering the viceroy's call, the other grand magus joined in, unleashing their high-tier spells with unyielding fury. n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
The Kruk King stepped forward, his eyes glowing with fiery determination. He chanted an incantation, summoning a tier 8 spell [Meteor Flames]. From the sky, burning rocks rained down, crashing upon the hydra from above. The impact was immense, each fiery meteor exploding on contact, engulfing the beast in flames.
Not willing to be left out, Cornelius the Targaryen King took to the skies. His body spun in a quick, graceful rotation as he called upon the winds. A powerful twister formed around him, its force pulling debris and loose objects into its swirling vortex. With a blade spear in hand, Cornelius dived towards the hydra, his speed increasing as he descended. He unleashed a tier 8 wind slash, the sheer force of the attack creating a sharp, cutting wind that cleaved through one of the hydra's heads.
SPLATTT!!!
Another serpent head was severed, crashing to the ground with a thunderous impact. The hydra's roar of pain and fury echoed through the city, its remaining heads lashing out in a frenzied attack. Poisonous clouds, icy blasts, and scorching flames erupted from its mouths, targeting the defenders with relentless aggression.
The chaos was terrifying to the Faulen citizens, yet it also brought them a flicker of hope. The powerful grand magus had seemingly gained the upper hand in stopping the massive hydra. However, their relief was short-lived. Just seconds later, dread returned as they witnessed the two decapitated heads starting to regrow. With such a regeneration rate, the battle seemed far from over. Their anxiety grew as the grand magus were interrupted by a sudden emergence of power from below the ground. The intensity of this new force caused an immediate reaction among the defenders. "What is that?! Another beast?!" The surge of power attracted the attention of the Ouroboros Queen, who had successfully restrained the inhuman grand magus before her inside a crystal of ice. Her icy eyes narrowed as she focused on the source of the power surge emanating from the secret tunnel. Determined to get answers, she used her domination power to force the truth out of the man trapped within the ice.
"What is that?! What else are you hiding down there!?" The inhuman grand magus, beaten half to death by the Queen, chuckled through his pain. "That is not us… hahaha… that young magus… this is even better," he taunted, his laughter echoing ominously in the chamber.
Not willing to be toyed with, the Ouroboros Queen decided to force her way into his mind to extract the truth. However, as soon as she made the connection, the grand magus' body exploded into a mass of goo. To her surprise, the goo began to rush toward the tunnel in a desperate attempt to flee.
"You dare to run!!" she roared her voice a chilling command that echoed throughout the tunnel.
Swiftly, she cast multiple spells, ice and frost cascading from her hands to freeze as much of the fleeing goo as possible. Despite her best efforts, a small portion of the goo managed to slip past her defenses and escape deeper into the tunnel.
