DEVIANT

Chapter 32

Chapter 32: Chapter 32: Volts domain

The few words Silver spoke in that meeting kept every other representative on the big four on their toes. The origin of the blue meteorite which gave birth to the Deviants is unknown and because of that, many people are torn on what to believe in. While the world governments believe this is from another race living on another planet, while religious bodies believe it is from God. Many groups have their own theories but the truth is unknown.

No one doubts Silver’s source since he is considered the smartest and strongest member of the Ainsworth family. Someone of his level has no reason to lie to them so they easily believed his words. No one of them could deny that getting forced to take part in something without having full information of what is involved is very annoying.

Even if what they are going against has to do with the aliens and will draw the attention of all surviving countries in the world, why not use the S rated deviants of the united states?

They may have outstanding talents but there are people more capable than them right now in the country due to the age gap! Those people would do a better job than them so why go through the trouble of training them, revealing them to the public, and all that?

Too many unanswered questions kept the God set and Tristan occupied so they didn’t bother with Alex and Silver’s activities for the next month. During that month, Silver and Alex turned their attention on members of the Tyrant gang. He only focused on fresher members of the tyrant gang and in a month he has crippled over thirteen students.

Because of this, many freshers from the tyrant gang were too scared to act. It felt like the scourge has eyes and ears everywhere. Unknown to them, Silver just keeps monitoring their activities through the surveillance camera of the academy, and surprisingly the military academy has not said a word about the tyrant gang and the hero deviant Scourge!

Since they couldn’t find any student with gravity abilities amongst the deviants, many believed Scourge may be a deviant pretending to lack special abilities. Many theroies are surrounding this new hero but what no one considered is that he would be amongst the representatives sent by the big four.

.....

A month of classes ended and the time for practical classes started. At the beginning of a new session, two months are dedicated to teachings but after that, the practical classes begin. Alex followed his normal training routine, cultivating both his physical capabilities and gravity ability. His late night vigilante adventures allowed him to have real targets to practice on, granting him greater proficiency at a faster rate. Since he has two deviant abilities, his mutant cells are twice the size of normal deviants, making it seem like he has an endless energy reserve to other deviants, also meaning he can practice for long hours.

Xiiiiii!

The doors slide open as all members of the class walked into the large room with many virtual reality gaming pods. Looking at the machines, Alex could see the blue bolt logo owned by the Voltz organization of the Ainsworth family. He shot a glance at Silver but he simply pretended like he didn’t notice Alex’s questioning gaze.

“Over the years we have lost many capable students because they have been forced to take on actual mutated beasts during the practical class and that’s why only a handful of people end up graduating from the academy with almost little or nothing to show for it... But once again, the Volts organization was able to put together a virtual world where recruits can take on mutated beasts without any reason to fear!” Instructor Lara seemed to be excited by this new technology, meanwhile, every other person was looking at Silver who was already getting into the pod.

Seeing all of this, Alex frowned. As good as this method looks or as amazing as it may sound, Alex didn’t consider this a good thing. Facing mutated beasts in a game and in real life are two different things entirely.

In this world, the deviants are divided into two groups after graduation from the academy. The guardians are deviants who chose to remain in the Luxurious cities and become superheroes. They fight against criminals, act as bodyguards for important figures, and all that.

The second group is called hunters. They are deviants who spend most of their lives outside the wall, fighting off mutated beasts. These deviants are usually considered savages but in Alex’s opinion, they are the only deviants making good use of their abilities. These people are the reason why safe zones exist outside the walls of this country! They are the hope of humans who wish to reclaim their territories taken away by the mutated beasts but they are the people hated the most by the world!

They are the only deviants deserving of his respect!

“Majority of the human population are dumb... They are no different from animals. Only one percent of smart and talented people are cursed to drag the stupid ninety-nine percent along... Sad” Alex said but then came to his senses.

He realized he has been thinking out loud again! Without wasting time he yanked the nearest gaming pod and jumped in. The moment he entered, the pod closed and a white gas spread within the pod, forcing Alex to lose consciousness.

Ding!

Seeing this series of white messages in a dark room void of any form of light, Alex sighed. Although he wasn’t the type to play games, he knew most people don’t use their real names when starting a new game so he couldn’t help but wonder what Name to use.

“I think I will go with Battle God” Alex said when he remembered the chants of the people when he defeated Akila of the God set.

[Battle God! Are you sure you want to use this name?” ]

“Yes” Alex said decisively
