Chapter 141

141 Learning More About the Humanoid Demons (4)

Just like before, Blake patiently waited behind the tree, concealing his existence while observing the five humanoid demons that had been caught by his binding darkness tendril spell.

The reason why he didn’t bother with the five humanoid demons right after successfully catching them was exactly because that was what he wanted to test out.

He saw the humanoid demons struggling, trying to save themselves from their current predicament. Then he watched some of them simply stop trying after the darkness tendrils latched onto their bodies tighter and the pain that they felt began to intensify with the sharp tips of the darkness tendrils burying themselves deeper into the humanoid demons’ skins.

And after a full 20 minutes had passed, all of them had finally stopped trying to break free and just accepted the fact that they were unable to do anything about their current situation.

And this was where Blake observed them even keener than before.

Blake’s eyes scanned over the five humanoid demons, trying to see each of their movements, particularly their towards their limbs and their mouths.

But even after another 10 minutes had passed and the humanoid demons still didn’t do anything, Blake decided to do something else.

Drawing one simple set of runes, Blake sent his intentions to his spell and aimed the spell at one of the humanoid demons.

Even from the back of a tree, the spell had successfully manifested itself as nether began gathering beneath one of the humanoid demons.

.....

The humanoid demon, who had little to no experience with human mages had felt the gathering of nether beneath himself as he was practically lying on the ground and his other five senses were not receiving many stimuli.

So when the nether that gathered had reached its peak, the humanoid demon had the instinct to try and roll away from the ground.

However, the darkness tendrils that kept him incapacitated weren’t only tying his body up, the darkness tendrils secured his body onto the ground and prevented any kind of movements, including moving side to side.

Hence the humanoid demon’s attempt to dodge the spell ended up in a failure as his body began to be impaled with darkness spikes.

The combination of the two spells that Blake had accidentally found to be inhumanely painful for the creatures that received it, now was doing their work on the unfortunate humanoid demon.

The darkness spikes came from below and pushed up the body of the humanoid demon, but just as what it had been doing so far, the darkness tendrils kept the humanoid demon from moving upward, essentially forcing the humanoid demon to be pressed against the darkness spikes that kept on protruding up from the ground and making holes on the humanoid demon’s body.

The humanoid demon would be lucky if the darkness spikes had pierced its heart or brain so that it would get an instant death without having to deal with the pricking of dozens of darkness spikes.

And that would sometimes be the case with Blake’s target.

However, that didn’t happen this time as Blake had intentionally prevented the darkness spikes from ever appearing under the humanoid demon’s skull and heart.

What he wanted was for the humanoid demon to show the pain that it currently felt, not to kill it.

And with the two spell combinations that Blake had used and carefully avoiding killing the humanoid demon, Blake definitely got what he wanted.

“ARRRRRGH!!!”

Screams of pain came from the humanoid demon’s mouth as his whole body, other than his head and the left side of his chest, was filled with an unimaginable level of pain that kept on pushing screams out of his mouth.

All 4 humanoid demons that saw what happened to one of their kin just stared frozen and didn’t utter a single word as a series of screams of horror rang out beside them.

Blake saw this and thought that his message might have not been clear enough.

So Blake moved his fingers and started drawing the same rune, this time, he aimed at another humanoid demon.

When the spell finally manifested itself, the same scene repeated itself as now two humanoid demons were letting out all of their voices by screaming at the top of their lungs.

And now that two of the humanoid demons had received the same fate, the three other humanoid demons finally realized what it meant for them and started making another attempt to escape their predicament.

However, different from before when they stopped trying after the darkness tendrils grew tighter and the sharp tips dug themselves slightly deeper, this time, the humanoid demons knew what would happen to them if they didn’t break free from the darkness tendrils, so they gave it their all.

Despite the darkness tendril that secured themselves even more to their bodies, the three other humanoid demons ignored the pain that they felt and tried even harder than before to release themselves, even letting out their own screams of struggle as they forced their bloodied hands to shake off the darkness tendrils.

And their screams became even louder when the third humanoid demon had its body impaled by the darkness spikes, only leaving two humanoid demons that weren’t touched yet by the darkness spikes.

The remaining two became even more desperate than ever as their attempt to escape had become more and more violent.

But the darkness tendrils didn’t care whether the creatures that they had caught were desperate or not. They only care about doing their job, and that was to secure their target and prevent them from moving.

All their attempts had all failed. And even when there was only one humanoid demon left that wasn’t impaled by the darkness spikes, the humanoid demons still weren’t able to do anything.

Seeing this, Blake heaved a sigh before walking out of the back of the tree.

All five humanoid demons, or more precisely, four of them since one had died due to the loss of blood, staring at the incoming humanoid demon that had just come out of the tree.

“He..heghlp...” One of the humanoid demons was barely able to utter a single word after screaming for more than a full minute.

But the humanoid demon that came out of the tree didn’t say anything or even look at the four humanoid demons’ eyes.

The humanoid demon just started drawing more runes in the air before darkness bullets came out of those runes and blasted the 4 humanoid demons’ heads open.

And with 5 souls now hovering above the humanoid demons’ bodies, Blake grabbed them all before swallowing them one by one.

“Sweet,” Blake commented as he started making his way back towards Robus’ location.

Now that he already got the information that he wants, Blake decided to come back to his friend and started making plans so that the two of them could farm their souls without having to deal with hundreds of humanoid demons at the same time.
