Chapter 32: New look
Chapter 32: New look
Anna's brows furrowed as she saw two men clad in weird yet attractive clothes reveal themselves from the alley. One held a bat and the other a strange metallic object which she doubted could ever harm a zombie.
"Who are you?" Cristian queried deeply while his grip around the hilt tightened. The second man held a pistol, which was an extremely dangerous weapon, so Cristian made him his first target.
"Bro, you and your girlfriend are so cool! Are you guys perhaps friends of the lady who can make people kiss the ground?" The younger one, who looked like a seventeen-year-old kid, hollered while carelessly walking towards Cristian, but the older one who looked like his dad held him back.
"Kiss the ground?" Cristian asked with an arched brow. "Yeah, the fire wolf party was fighting over who would claim her since they found her, but those bastards did not know she's an OP mage.
"A strange diagram formed on the ground and she floated… like a goddess…" the kid forgot that he was speaking to people as he remembered the scene of that cocky group being forced to the ground while she defied gravity.
To teens like him, she was a goddess.
Both Cristian and Anna ignored the kid's mistake of calling them a couple as his description suited one blue-haired beauty.
"Wait, when did this happen?" Cristian queried as what the boy spoke about seemed like a whole ordeal, so how did this all happen when both he and Anna are struggling to find their way?
"Two days ago," the blonde-haired man, who looked like he was in his late forties, replied.
'Fuck time displacement!' Cristian cursed as Sheila would surely be in a bad mood as she appeared in a strange world and neither he nor Anna were around.
"Take us to her," Anna spoke with authority. As a healer of the church, she was used to giving orders and also carrying them out. While she took no pleasure in ordering others, if it came to her sister, then she would do it without end.
"We would do that after we take the supplies from that supermarket," Cristian turned to the building the man pointed at and kept silent.
It was so far away that he could only see the structure of the signpost. From the gleams in the man's eyes, Cristian knew the man wanted to 'borrow' their strength to guarantee his safety.
"How about you take us there? Once we see her, then I'll get the supplies and you don't have to risk your life," Cristian proposed with a magnetic smile and his eyes glowed.
'He's strong, so you can trust him.' Those words felt like him, so the blonde nodded in a dazed fashion.
Anna's brows rose while she stared at Cristian and the blonde. There was something strange in their conversation, but she didn't know what.
It felt strange that he would just accept without even saying a word when he sounded firm previously.
"This way," the kid beckoned and followed his dad. Cristian slid his sword back into its sheath and marched toward the duo. "Wait!" Anna's aggrieved tone made him halt.
"What is wrong?"
"N… nothing." Her reply made his brows elevate, but he shrugged it off as he couldn't stop thinking about what Sheila might have done when she lived amongst people who could use guns.
Many things must have happened in these two days, making her current situation uncertain. She might be safe right now, but what were the people's general views?
Anna's eyes flickered as she gazed at the man who seemed absorbed in his own world the moment her sister came into the picture.
This thought might have nurtured something else if it was another, but like a kid who wasn't given the attention she deserved, Anna raised her head. Her golden eyes bore holes into his broad back.
"Stop!"
The father and son duo paused along with Cristian. He became confused at her strange behavior, but when he noticed the distance between them, it dawned on him.
She felt left out as the father and son walked together, but she wasn't with her new friend and team member.
"I won't move an inch until you're here." His lips curled into a beautiful smile and Anna pouted like a kid finally given the desired attention but felt shy.
She held her wooden staff that resembled a thick branch with both hands and ran toward him. Her hair bounced and her light brown leather boots peeked out of her long gown.
"Okay, let's go," she chirped while beaming, but to her shock, Cristian leaned down, gripped her gown, and tore the fabric.
Stumped, she watched him turn her attire into a short gown. Her slender, attractive legs were revealed to the world, along with her boots.
Cristian took two steps back and scanned Anna with an arched brow. He took a large step forward and the gap between them vanished.
Her refreshing lavender scent gushed into his nostrils while he used a torn piece of her gown to tie her hair.
He took two steps back again and admired the woman whose looks differed vastly from before.
At this moment, Cristian realized Anna was much younger than him. Maybe two or three years younger?
With her hair packed into a ponytail, her heart-shaped face, plump lips, cute nose, and bright eyes that shone with a mix of shock and disbelief.
That face did not match her seductive body, and yet it made a mind-blowing combination. That drew a smirk from his face.
'Pretty sure I might be a world-class talent in the fashion industry.' he praised his skills inwardly but a seductive voice shattered his fantasies.
'Keep dreaming.' That voice brought a strange warmth to his heart as her strange silence made him feel quite empty.
'It feels nice to hear your voice,' he said sincerely, grabbed Anna's soft palm, and moved toward the baffled father and son duo.
Lia's eyes widened as butterflies danced in her tummy. The accumulated fury she could not release since every beast knew of her devious routine melted and she felt like soaking in his embrace, but sadly.
She could only wait till the next day.

Several miles away, a gigantic snake sprawled on the wide road twitched and its enormous striking blue eyes opened.
