Chapter 31: Monstrous strength
Chapter 31: Monstrous strength
"Umm, Anna." she stared at him with an arched brow and followed his eyesight to her gown that stuck to her body, revealing her snow-white skin and white bra.
Her cheeks burned, for she had joined Cristian in his horrible stench cult. "You still look good, but… you might wanna do something about your exposed skin."
"Humph! You talk like you don't relish it." Anna scoffed, causing Cristian's eyes to dilate. Did he hear correctly or were his ears confusing him?
"I would have calmly bid my time and we could even wash up together, but there is a horde outside this door, so we might end up attracting them." He wore a solemn facade while staring at Anna whose face would almost burst as it shone in deep red.
"I'm doubting your surname," she hissed and took deep breaths, making her ample boobs move up and down. As much as Cristian enjoyed the magnetic sight, her words brought back a topic he almost forgot.
"Is that why you behaved like that? Because you think I'm a member of that family?" he took two steps toward her and lowered his head. Their eyes met and he could see caution return to those innocent eyes which once gleamed with joy a few minutes ago.
"You have to be. No one in the realm would dare answer Athelstone," she whispered. Her irises trembled as was uncertain, and when Cristian got closer, she mumbled a spell inwardly and hit her staff on the ground.
'Cleanse!'
Voosh!
A golden light erupted from the ground and covered both of them for two seconds. As the golden beam slowly died, Cristian found Anna pressed against him and his first reaction was knitting his brows.
However, he realized that out of instinct; he grabbed Anna for both security purposes and precaution. She would not dare to use any offensive skill when they were together, and this was if she had any.
"Anh!~" her lips so close to his chin parted as she let out a moan and it was because his tight grip around her waist hurt her delicate skin. [-1]
She gasped inwardly when her health bar was reduced by one. 'What monstrous strength does he possess?' she thought and felt relieved as he loosened his grip, but their intimate position remained as he still refused to release her.
"Look, there's no way anyone in this realm has the same surname, but I'm not from this realm and I think you were already thinking about it since the system must have told you about this place."
His hot breath brushed against her face while he stared down at her. Anna realized what a colossal blunder she made by using that skill because the blood hid his gorgeous looks.
Even her fiance, who visited only once, which was when he selected her with a few others, couldn't compare to him.
It made no sense for a man who wasn't even at the second tier to possess such an angelic face with a magnetic devious smile but the man holding her was real and it made her heart throb seeing him so bent on fixing what she now realized was a misunderstanding.
But if he just came to Eternity, then how was he this strong? And what of the real adventurer?
"Can you let me go?" she queried in a mosquito voice and Cristian hurriedly distanced himself and flashed an awkward smile, which made Anna pout.
"Thanks," he whispered as she cleaned him up and she nodded. "Are we going to hide here or fight those disgusting things?" Anna queried while looking at the door with caution.
"I vote we stay!"
Cristian grimaced as Lia's abrupt scream made him feel strange but definitely uncomfortable. 'It's dangerous for her to be out there alone. You said it yourself.' he uttered inwardly, but Lia wasn't planning to back out easily.
"My Lord, she can be yours if you both stay through this night. I'm 99 percent sure she won't reject you tonight," Lia's seductive voice echoed in his mind, trying to convince him that Anna was a cornered rabbit, ripe for the taking.
"Not now Lia," he rejected. Why the heck would he think about s** when a horde was out there and besides, he doesn't want to take advantage of Anna.
Cristian preferred if the girl was fully aware and ready and not being a sneaky, seductive demon like his cute maid.
'I would like to see the look on that stupid Athelstone's face when he realizes one of his 'women' is gone. Oh, I wish I could be there to gouge out his shocked eyes.' The dark thoughts lurking within Lia's mind went unnoticed.
Unknown to Cristian, Lia left his shadow and appeared in the Night Castle's compound. Her willowy brows furrowed and her magnetic eyes flashed with disgust and anger.
And these emotions were directed at herself, for she was turning into a replica of her mother.
"I can never be like her!" she screamed, and flames burst from her body and shot several feet into the air. Her wings shot out, her claws came out and her gown burnt to a crisp, revealing a body so alluring that many would feel ashamed of their proclaimed beauty.
Her smooth skin without blemishes sparkled with a red glow, and a back armor covered her body.
With burning red eyes, she shot into the air and flew towards the distance. A pity for any Tier 5 beast she meets.
While Lia searched for something to unleash her anger, Cristian and Anna came out and faced the remaining zombies as the main horde was long gone.
There was a lot of work needed before they could work like an oiled machine, but against low-level zombies, their current teamwork would suffice.
Anna's method was clean and silent as her healing skill became a bane for the undead. She kept flooding them with the same skill repeatedly. The results were dozens of gray-skinned zombies lying lifelessly and she leveled up 3 times.
Taking her level to 27.
Bam! She turned toward the noise and saw Cristian standing over a big two-meter mutant zombie. He had returned to his bloodied looks, but the contagious smile on his lip made her smile.
'Cleanse.'
"Thanks!" he hollered, gripped the hilt of Burning Fury, and drew it out of the zombie's swollen stomach.
"Did she just cast cleanse?" a voice rang and both Cristian and Anna turned to the source.
