Chapter 69: The Eligible CEO is Drugged
Chapter 69: The Eligible CEO is Drugged
"I did not," she slurred. "You stuck your hair in my mouth," her face remained sideways as she glared at him. "And you bit my boob!" She pointed to my chest with both hands.
"I certainly did not," he scoffed at her accusation. "You stuck your breast in my mouth," he countered. His speech was clearer and filled with irritation.
"In case you haven't noticed," she spoke calmly. "You are on top of me." She pointed out the obvious. Other than his face, she was completely covered by his long, solid frame.
"Why can't I move properly?" he demanded to know as she tried to pull away from her. It seemed the harder he tried the closer he became. His face was filled with anger.
"I have no idea. Are you drunk?" she asked smoothly.
"I ordered one drink!" he said, his patience wearing thin. She knew he would burst if she poked, but she couldn't help herself one bit.
"Sounds like you're a lightweight to me." She smirked, earning a scowl in response. The dragon pressed a button to his left, causing the privacy wall to go up, completely shutting them off from the driver. He turned to face her.
"Did you drug me?" His voice held a dangerous undertone.
Her eyebrows hit the ceiling. "You're kidding me, aren't you? Do you think you are in a poorly written romance novel where an eligible CEO is drugged and sleeps with the female lead?" She wanted to roll her eyes.
He ignored her jibe. "What was in those cookies you fed me?"
"I assume there was flour, sugar, eggs, and butter... you can search the recipe on the internet. You seemed to enjoy them a little too much," Qian Meng offered helpfully.
"Don't cover for your 'friends.' Tell me what I am high on."
She silently stared at him for a couple of seconds. "No need for that threatening tone. Just a little alcohol and the lack of food can do that to you." Her finger shot up to his reddening face, landing at the center of his nose. She didn't plan on that happening but he was too close. The bloodthirsty look he unleashed on her would have intimidated most people but it spurred her on. The air between them was unbearably thick. She had trouble breathing properly and swallowed hard.
Her heartbeat sped up, pounding beneath her dress like a drum. She had to fight off the urge to torment him, just to hear him growl. The thought thrilled her to no end.
She had issues.
He swatted her finger away like a bug which made her laugh, a giggle actually, which was really weird since she never giggled.
She froze, gasping mid giggle. She was high... not drunk.
Her fingers clamped down on her mouth instinctively and she sat there wide-eyed and speechless as the images of the night flashed before her. Mo Qingchen watched her as realization swept over her like a freight train.
"You can't be that naive!" he exhaled with annoyance. His eyes held a bit of pity which irked her. "Really, you are naive."
"I'm not naive." She folded her arms defensively. "I am trusting among friends."
"Is that what you call them?" he snorted. "Also, you trust just about everyone. You're too easy to fool."
She glared at him. "Well, you don't have friends, so you won't understand..." she frowned. Her words weren't meant to be cruel, she stated them softly and firmly.
His hands landed on either side of her. He let out a low grunt as he pushed himself up, closely hovering over her, trapping her beneath him.
"Untrue," he said, the deep vibration of his gravelly voice traveled all the way to her toes.
To her dismay, she found herself completely dazzled by him. Her brain was already in an altered state, making it impossible for her to keep control over her senses.
His eyes were dangerously dark as they forcefully grabbed hers. Practically, every part of his body was in some way touching her... every part.
Her tongue swept across her bottom lip as she inhaled the scent of cookies on his breath.
'I bet his mouth tastes amazing, probably like cookies.' How inappropriate would it be if she nibbled on his lips as he glared down at her?
No. What was she thinking? A part of her thought herself crazy while the other suggested she lick him instead. Which of course, somehow, made sense.
If only she could move her head. That would help.
"Damn it," she chanted under her breath. Mo Qingchen's eyes were intense, vibrant, and black with an overwhelming number of emotions, anger being only one of them.
The man was completely unraveled. Something told her he wasn't accustomed to losing control. And yet, there he was, struggling to speak properly.
