Chaos Evolution: Only I Was Granted 3 Wishes

Chapter 165: Leona Lionheart! End

The 300th wave was different in that the injured wasn't physically hurt in any way, his soul was intact, his fate wasn't messed with, and even his aura was fine.

Leona couldn't figure out how to heal him in any way, and time was passing.

30 minutes had gone by so far and she didn't even start to figure out what was wrong, thus, she decided to take the direct approach.

"Uh, Hey man." She waved her hand while approaching the man who was looking down, unmoving.

"Hello?" She called again; the man was sitting by himself, his eyes looking lost as he sighed from time to time.

Leona couldn't understand what was going on; she just... couldn't get it.

How could one be injured while looking so healthy?

"Hey man! I'm talking here." She shouted, getting irritated, her violent nature taking over.

*Sigh*

Was the only response she got.

"UGH!" Leona grunted, holding herself back from just killing the man and ending it all here.

But it was too dumb; she wouldn't just give up the tribulations; she would fail and be unable to take on the next ones.

"Damn it." Leona scratched her head as, after not finding anything she could do, she sat next to the man.

She put her hands below her back, and looked to the sky, waiting for him to initiate the conversation.

Minutes passed, then hours, and Leona found herself lost in the mood.

The air was still, and the grassy land that was similar to the one Draco was had a sky twinkling from time to time that made one want to stay there forever.

Leona found solace in this state; she didn't know what happened to her until she felt tears falling down her cheeks.

"Huh? What's with me?" She touched her face, unable to control her tears.

Memories of her life ran through her mind like the last spurt the brain makes before death.

She remembered her loneliness, the countless days she spent training to drown herself, she was constantly in the move, throughout years and years, she just felt her life bland, she couldn't feel anything and just went with the flow.

Her boredom... she got used to it. It was part of her life. If she were to ever describe her life... She wouldn't know how to answer.

Day after day, month after month, year after year.

Training, fighting, killing, resting, eating, sleeping—all of this was just a way for her to forget everything.

She liked to think that she was using her time perfectly, giving everything its time...

But she forgot the most important.

She forgot to give herself time.

She forgot to stop and think for a while. She forgot to stop and think back to what he had done right and what she had done wrong. If the path she was going on was the most useful, if she wasn't lacking anything that might become a massive weakpoint for her in the future.

She was going to ascend; she needed to be as perfect as possible, But no.

It was always her duty, it was always the clan, and it was always the need to show her worth and be at the top, demonstrating to the world how much of a prodigy she is.

She strived not to disappoint, she strived to make every one pleased with her.

But she, who lacked parental love, who had no friends, who was the least important person to her... Was she pleased?

She didn't know. She didn't want to know. If it was going to make her cry and look weak, she didn't want to know.

That was what she thought.

She cried and cried and cried, tears falling like an unending stream.

She couldn't stop; it was the tears of thousands of years accumulated. She was a woman; she was supposed to empty her tears every now and then, but no, she couldn't.

The happy things that happened in her life weren't many; in fact, she could count them with one hand.

From a young age, she was thought to be strong headed, she was thought to always show an intimidating front; and she was told to not disappoint her lineage and be the light that would take them out of the darkness.

The lion was the king of the jungle; how dare the deer, that was nothing but a prey, take the throne?

It was unforgivable and this was something the lionmen hated the most.

But was it truly right for a young child to carry this burden? Was it really right for this young child to grow to be violent, crude, and a battle maniac who never got a chance to be herself and enjoy some alone time?

It was always training, training, training, rest, and some more training.

Such a poor child...

Leona cried like a baby. At this point, she didn't even try anymore and just cried as loud as she could. Snot came out, and the majesty and might of the strongest prodigy of the beastmen were nothing but a little kid in this very moment.

She was an Origin Emperor; she was on her way to becoming a celestial... She shouldn't be crying! This was wrong! very wrong, even. yet... why did it feel so reassuring?

Why did it feel so comforting.

Leona's heart was beating steadily as her cries traversed the realm. Only she and the man who was next to her could hear them.

The man, who was looking depressed and down, was now looking at Leona with a smile.

The stars twinkled, the breeze hit her face, and the man... fragmented into a million white pieces and for a second, Leona felt his silhouette patting her back from behind before he was gone.

It was at that moment that she stopped crying out loud, tears still falling, and tried to control them.

Indeed... it wasn't the man who needed healing. It was hers.
