Chapter 36: 36 : I want To Meet Your Boss
"Excuse me, Young Miss, we have arrived," the coachman said with a bow towards the carriage.
"Oh, we're here!" a sweet and melodious voice replied from inside the carriage.
The sound of rustling followed as a beautiful girl emerged. She had snow-white skin, red lips, green eyes, and long black hair that cascaded down her back.
Dressed in a stunning green gown that accentuated her figure, she looked around with a simple smile on her face.
As she approached the restaurant gate, she noticed the plaque above the door.
"Origin Restaurant, what an interesting name," she thought with a smile as she entered, the coachman trailing behind.
Inside, she surveyed the scene with a nod of approval. The restaurant was elegant and quiet, filled with guests in luxurious attire or emitting emitting powerful auras.
Wooden elevators carried people up and down on either side of the stairs leading to the other floors.
"Welcome, Miss," a receptionist greeted her.
" Please will you like to dine here or on the other floors? " The receptionist asked.
She nodded in response. "I'll dine on the third floor," she said softly.
"Alright, please head to the wooden elevators or take the stairs," the receptionist directed.
The girl made her way to one of the wooden elevators, her coachman in tow. With curiosity in her eyes, she stepped onto the platform and the coachman behind her quickly pulled the third lever as if he was already familiar with the wooden elevator.
The wooden elevator slowly rose up as it carried both of them towards the third floor.
A few moments, they arrived at the third floor. It was much quieter than the first floor, almost eerily so.
Only a few front desk ladies were there, all wearing professional smiles behind the white stone desk.
One of the receptionists stepped forward with a polite smile and said, "Please, Miss, follow me."
The girl nodded and followed, her eyes wandering to the receptionist's uniform.
She hadn't paid much attention to the uniforms before but she realized that the uniforms of the employee were quite unique and also beautiful.
They were led into a room that was elegant and luxurious, with a large table in the middle surrounded by white and gold couches. The room had large French windows and beautiful flowers in ceramic pots.
It could easily seat five to ten people. The girl looked around with satisfaction and sat down on one of the couches, with the coachman standing behind her.
The receptionist handed her a menu and said, "Please look through this, and ring the white bell if you'd like to order. A waiter will come to assist you." With that, she left the room.
The girl glanced through the menu, her eyes widening in surprise before closing it a few moments later.
"Houston, stop standing there and sit down," she said gently to the coachman.
Houston shook his head and replied, "I can't sit with you, Miss. It's against the rules."
"Forget the rules, no one's here. Just sit," she insisted, narrowing her eyes.
After a moment of hesitation, Houston sighed and sat down across from the girl, his back straight and hands on his lap.
"What do you think of this restaurant, Houston?" the girl asked with a smile.
Houston thought for a moment before responding, "Well, Miss, this restaurant may not be the fanciest in the Kingdom, but it's definitely unique, especially for a small town like Bridgemoor City. Their operation is unlike any other restaurant I've seen before."
The girl listened to Houston with interest, nodding along. "You're right, Houston. This place is special, especially those elevators - such a cool invention," she said.
"And what is even more surprising is that they have a 1 Star Spirit Chef " Houston added.
" Yeah that is really surprising!" The girl smiled with narrowed eyes.
"To be able to open such a high-end restaurant like this in this part if Bridgemoor City, the restaurant's background must be quite unique," Houston said.
The girl nodded enthusiastically and said, "I really want to meet the owner of this place!"
She shook her head and ringed the white bell on the table.
A few moments later, a waiter entered with a smile.
"How may I take your order?" the waiter asked politely.
"I'll have the Smoke Spark Sunfish, Star Rice & Delight, Gooseneck Barnacles and Almas Caviar, and a bottle of Figdale Red," the girl said with a smile.
"Okay, Miss. Your order will be out shortly," the waiter replied, smiling as he left the room.
A few minutes later, there was a knock on the door. The girl glanced at the door out of the corner of her eye.
"Enter," she said softly.
The door pushed open and the waiter entered the room, pushing a silver trolley. He quickly set up the dishes on the table, introducing each one as he did so.
"Miss, this is the Smoked Spark Sunfish, this is the Star Rice & Delight, and here are the Gooseneck Barnacles and Almas Caviar," the waiter said with a polite and professional smile.
The girl looked at the dishes with surprise and a smile crept onto her face.
When the waiter opened the lids of the food, a dense and enticing aroma filled the room. Faint white mists lingered around the food, giving them a more appealing appearance. The white mist was Mana.
"All these dishes are 1 Star Spirit Dishes cooked by our 1 Star Spirit Chef," the waiter explained.
He poured wine into beautiful glasses and placed them on the table.
"Please enjoy your food," he said before leaving the room.
"Come on, Houston, let's taste how delicious these dishes are," the girl said, starting to eat elegantly.
Houston hesitated for a moment before joining in.
As the girl ate, her eyes lit up with surprise. The moment the food her mouth,it melted, tingling her taste buds and filling her body with Mana.
She felt a change inside her, her expression shifting slightly, it seems as if she have thought of something and she smiled more.
She continued to eat with a blissful smile on her face.
CRACK!
As the girl sat at the table, a slight sound emanated from within her body, causing the air around her to twist slightly.
A powerful aura emitted from her, catching Houston's attention. He looked at her with surprise and a smile on his face.
The girl closed her eyes, and after a few minutes, the aura was drawn back inside her. She slowly opened her eyes and exhaled, releasing a faint white mist that lingered in the air before dissipating.
"Congratulations, Young Miss!" Houston stood and bowed.
The girl grinned revealing her pearly white teeth and waved her hand. "I was just on the verge of it, but I didn't expect these dishes to help achieve it."
Houston sat back down. "I have to be honest, these dishes are delicious, and the Mana present in them is more intense than most 1 Star Spirit Chefs."
The girl nodded. "Okay, let's continue eating."
They chatted while eating, with the girl doing most of the talking and Houston respectfully responding.
After finishing their meal, there were still leftovers, including an unfinished bottle of wine.
The girl rang the white bell, and the waiter soon entered the room.
"Please, Miss, how is the food? Is it to your liking?" the waiter asked with a smile.
The girl smiled back. "Yes, the food is simply delicious.
" Is there something I can do for you? " The waiter asked.
" Yes, I want to meet your boss." The girl said while glancing at the waiter.
The waiter was surprised. "You want to meet my boss?"
"Yes," the girl confirmed.
"Okay then, please wait a moment while I inform him," the waiter said before leaving the room.
A few minutes later, the waiter returned with a smile. "My boss said you can come. He's waiting for you in his office."
"Okay, let's go," the girl said as she stood up, with Houston following behind.
