Chapter 204 Leave Your Mark
The Shenyang Sharks.
They were the local team of Shenyang, representing them in the national leagues.
In short, Lina was downright crazy for calling them just the 'Shenyang Sharks.'
Well, they weren't really a big team in the national leagues. On television, their games were rather a hit or miss. Moreover, after losing some of their best players and being replaced with younger and cockier ones, they gained a not-so-good reputation from the public.
But then again, this was a national team they were talking about!n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
One of them even played for the Olympics at one point in his career. Although, he was just a bench player and didn't play as much compared to the other key players.
"We're going to see a national team!" Jet excitedly exclaimed as they stood outside of the court.
They were currently lined up, as were the other teams that were training in Shenyang's facility.
They saw the Longyu Dragons at the very front with a charismatic-looking woman standing beside them.
She scanned the area until they landed on the Shizi Dogs. Her eyes narrowed slightly before she turned away from them.
Meanwhile, Kai looked around for any familiar teams.
Xingfu High.
Wennuan Academy.
Yuncai Arts School.
They were all unfamiliar with Kai, and he didn't recognize their players.
On the other hand, these teams seemed to recognize the Shizi Dogs and the Longyu Dragons.
Much to Kai's surprise, one of them tapped his shoulder, making him turn around.
"Yes?" Kai asked with a frown.
"Oh, wow. You're actually scarier in real life," the guy muttered.
"Uh—I just wanted to ask if I could take a picture with you? I really like your plays!"
Kai's eyebrows raised in pleasant surprise.
He knew that he had a viral video circulating among basketball fans, but he didn't know it could reach such an extent.
"Uh, sure?" Kai said in an unsure tone.
"Sweet!" the guy exclaimed, standing closer to Kai to take a selfie with him.
"No problems," Kai muttered.
The guy was about to leave, but Kai stopped him.
"What's your name?" he asked.
The guy turned around before smirking. "Luke!" he said. "Remember my name, alright?"
Luke's last statement was pretty weird, but Kai decided to let it go since the doors had now opened.
"Oh, there's a lot of students," one of the workers said with a pleasant smile.
"Come right in," they said, opening the doors wider and letting the high school players come in.
As soon as the first school entered, there were already exclamations of amazement inside, making the Shizi Dogs grow even more curious.
Finally, the Shizi Dogs had entered the court, and they were met by literal giants!
Kai's jaw dropped as he saw the team before him. They were all the height of Yuze, and some were even taller!
Yuze, who always felt like he was the tallest in the room, also felt small amidst their presence.
The Shenyang Sharks continued to converse normally—as if the students hadn't just come in.
It seemed like they were enjoying the praises and attention, too.
The Shizi Dogs went to the front seats led by Lina, and they continued to observe the national team.
As expected, although they weren't the best in the national league, they were still different.
Jet gasped loudly as he pointed to one of the players.
"That's Zeke 'the lightning' Wang!" he exclaimed. "He's the one who played in the Olympics."
Kai focused his gaze on the familiar man and nodded in acknowledgment.
Just then, one of the workers approached the teams.
"Good morning, students," he said. "Today, you will have the grand opportunity to witness the practice session of the Shenyang Sharks, our very own local team. This will be an hour-long session. You can gather tips from how they train, and you can also ask questions at the very end."
"Do not worry. After all of this is over, you will have the opportunity to take photos with the players," he continued, making some of the students cheer.
With that, he walked away and signaled the start of their practice session.
Yuze and Lina were particularly serious, their brows furrowed in concentration as they dissected how a national team practiced.
Meanwhile, Jet whipped out a snack and scrolled through his phone.

Kai turned to him in surprise. "Aren't you going to watch?"
"As much as I like Zeke 'the lightning' Wang, I'm not too fond of watching practice sessions. It's boring! I'd much rather watch a practice game instead."
Kai, although very interested in how they trained, also felt the same way as Jet.
He believed that playing with a team was the best way to learn their different playing styles.
They continued their practice session, and Kai didn't find anything too special. However, it was clear that they were better, more accurate, and had a smoother transition compared to their team.
The hour continued to pass, and Kai found himself falling asleep. Maybe it was due to the intensity of their morning training or his lack of sleep because his teammates kept complaining about the spiders in their room.
However, he snapped awake when Jet held onto his arm and furiously shook it.
Kai raised his eyebrows in surprise, turning to his teammate.
"What?" Kai asked.
"Look," Jet said, showing Kai a familiar photo.
Kai frowned and squinted his eyes at Jet's phone.
"Isn't this the guy who took a photo with you a while ago?" he asked.
Kai nodded, continuing to inspect the photo.
"Read the caption," Jet said.
Kai clicked his tongue as he read the caption.
'Met Kai Guo, the player whose only strengths are his height and body. Oh, I forgot about his humor, too!'
"What the heck," Jet said. "He said he was a fan and enjoyed your video. You really can't trust anyone these days, man."
Kai smirked and shook his head, although deep inside, he wanted to plummet Luke's head to the ground.
"Look at the comments, too," Jet added. "They're all flaming you."
- LOL. The Shizi Dogs are in the same training facility as you, guys?
- Invited them for a practice game. I'm sure Wennuan will win!
- This guy is really ugly.
- Agreed. He looks like he hasn't seen the light in one hundred years.
- He sucks at basketball, too.
Just then, his system lit up before him, causing Kai to stop reading the comments.
