Chapter 133 Slaying Seraphiel, Giant Blood Blade
[Seraphiel, Angel Tribe Member, Level 500 Rank 6]
[HP: 32,000,000/40,000,000]
The air grew thick with tension as Seraphiel stood tall, his golden blade glowing ominously.
Seraphiel's wings stretched wide, their golden feathers radiating a holy light that made even Alex hesitate.
"You should not have come here, mortals," Seraphiel said, his voice resonating like a divine bell. "This land is sacred, unfit for the impure."
Alex gritted his teeth. "You're the one who'll regret this."
With a slam of his staff, necrotic energy surged outward, summoning a fresh wave of undead.
[+80 Skeletons, +13 Grand Skeletons, +4 Bony Knights, +3 Spectral Wraiths]
The battlefield filled with the clatter of bones as the undead marched forward.
Bony Knights raised their shields, forming a wall to block Seraphiel's inevitable assault.
Spectral Wraiths hovered ominously, waiting for their chance to strike.
"Attack!" Alex commanded.
The undead swarmed toward Seraphiel, claws and weapons aiming for any weak spot they could find.
Seraphiel didn't flinch.
With a single swing of his [Divine Blade], he unleashed a wave of energy that sliced through the undead ranks.
-120,921!
-150,843!
-100,002!
Bones shattered, and wraiths dissipated into nothingness. Alex's forces were being torn apart.
"Damn it!" Alex cursed under his breath. "[Aura of Death]!"
A dark aura enveloped the battlefield, strengthening the remaining undead.
Their attacks became more ferocious, their defenses more resilient.
"Hold the line!" Alex yelled.
Alice stood beside him, her bow already drawn.
"Ice Torrent" she shouted, releasing a volley of ice arrows. The arrows arced through the air, their tips homing in on Seraphiel.
-22,000! -25,000! -24,500!
The ice arrow engulfed Seraphiel briefly, but he emerged unscathed, his radiant armor repelling most of the damage.
"Is that all?" Seraphiel sneered.
He raised his sword high, light condensing around the blade. "[Heavenly Arc]!"
A crescent-shaped wave of divine energy erupted from his blade, carving through the undead ranks and heading straight for Alex and Alice.
"[High-Defense Wall]!" Alex shouted.
A massive stone barrier materialized in front of them, absorbing the brunt of the attack.
Thanks to its upgrade, it could now absorb up to 100,000 points of damage!
BOOM!
The wall cracked under the pressure but held firm.
Alex wiped the sweat from his brow, his mana reserves were almost infinite, but he needed to be careful.
"We can't keep this up," Alice said, loosing another arrow.
"We don't have a choice," Alex replied, his voice grim. "If we don't stop him here, he'll hunt us down."
Seraphiel flapped his wings, sending a shockwave that scattered the undead around him.
"[Heaven's Wrath]!" he intoned. The heavens opened above, and golden spears of light rained down.
The ground erupted as the spears struck, obliterating the remaining skeletons and wounding the Bony Knights.
-18,732! -14,821! -20,300!
Alex barely dodged one of the spears, his cloak singed from the heat.
"This guy's insane!" he muttered.
He swung his staff again, activating [Crimson Cataclysm]. Massive crimson spikes erupted from the earth, surrounding Seraphiel and impaling him from all sides.
-32,000! -28,000! -30,000!
Seraphiel grunted in pain but quickly shattered the spikes with a surge of holy energy.
"Enough!" he roared. Chapter Read:
The angel's wings glowed brighter, and he ascended into the air, glaring down at Alex and Alice. "Your insolence will not go unpunished."
Before Alex could react, Seraphiel dashed toward Alice with blinding speed.
"Alice, move!" Alex shouted.
But it was too late.
Seraphiel's [Divine Blade] sliced through her, the attack so swift that it took a moment for the reality to sink in.
SLASH!
-194,823!
Alice's body collapsed, split in half.
Blood pooled beneath her as her form disintegrated into light.
[Alice has been slain, respawning...]
Alex stared in shock as the notification appeared.
His hands trembled, his mind racing.
There was no respawn point here. Alice was gone, likely sent back to the Fox Tribe Village or one of the cities.
"Alice…" Alex whispered, his voice breaking.
Seraphiel turned his gaze to Alex. "You're next, mortal."
Something inside Alex snapped.
Rage bubbled to the surface, consuming him entirely. He let out a primal scream, slashing his palms open with his dagger.
Blood poured freely, pooling at his feet.
"Come on, then," Alex growled, his voice trembling with fury.
The blood began to swirl, forming into a massive crimson blade that towered over the battlefield.
[Giant Blood Blade]
The weapon's size made it nearly impossible to control, and Alex's hands trembled under the strain.
But he didn't care. His fury drove him forward.
Seraphiel raised an eyebrow, momentarily impressed. "An interesting trick," he said. "But it won't save you."
Alex's grip tightened on his staff. "[Chains of Restraint]!"
Transparent chains shot out, wrapping around Seraphiel's wings and limbs.
The angel struggled, but the chains held firm, reducing his speed and rendering him vulnerable.
"This is for Alice!" Alex roared, hurling the Giant Blood Blade with all his might.
The blade streaked through the air, its crimson glow illuminating the battlefield.
BOOM!
The blade struck Seraphiel with devastating force, engulfing him in a torrent of blood and energy.
-13,902,271!
[Bleed effect caused, dealing 30% of initial HP!]
-12,000,000!
Seraphiel staggered, blood dripping from his mouth.
His wings faltered, and his glowing eyes dimmed as his health plummeted.
"Impossible…" the angel muttered, his voice weak. He collapsed to the ground, his blade slipping from his grasp.
"Human… you are… strong…" Seraphiel said before his body crumbled into golden particles.
Ding!
[You have slain "Seraphiel, Angel Tribe Member," gaining 200,000,000 experience points!]
Alex stood amidst the carnage, his chest heaving as he struggled to catch his breath.
His body felt heavy, but still satisfied after using his [Blood Arts] like that, otherwise it would have been instant death for him too.
He was actually impressed by the damage from the [Giant Blood Blade].
Though that didn't change his [Blood Arts] mastery, it was still "Average".
[Blood Arts Perk #3: Giant Blood Blade; Use a lot of blood to summon a massive blade, deals bleed 100% of the time.]
He would need to unlock more abilities if he wanted to upgrade his mastery and gain new perks of his Arts, but it was still good.
He turned his gaze to the spot where Alice had fallen.
Not only that, but he had been reckless and weak, and that is why she had died from the angel.
If he had been faster, or could have lifted his [High-Defense Wall] faster, then it wouldn't have gone like this.
Though he couldn't deny that the rage of seeing his companion die was the thing that brought him to the edge enough to summon the [Giant Blood Blade].
Ding!
He received a notification a few seconds later, but it wasn't about his levels or his extraction prompt.
[StarPillow: I'm back in the Fox Tribe Village, can you maybe teleport me back here with your World Map?]
[FateBreaker: Yeah, let me just deal with whatever I need then I'll come asap!]
[StarPillow: You're still fighting the angel?!]
[FateBreaker: No, he's dead, don't worry.]
With a final glance at the remains of the battle, Alex turned and crouched in front of the angel, extending his arm.
"Extraction."
