Chapter 88: Shawn vs Theo (C)

“Why are you so sure, master?” Lisa asked while looking at him.

Elliot hugged her, trapping her softness in his embrace against her will, finding her warmth and sweet scent as the only ways to not lose his fleeting sense of reality.

He said, “I can see things that others can’t.”

Lisa, on the other hand, wondered why he keeps on hugging her every chance he gets.

“Why do you keep on hugging me, master?” Lisa asked with a shy look on her face.

“Maybe because you’re extremely huggable,” Elliot said, and Lisa blushed even harder, causing the redness of her face to turn a shade darker.

“Master, how long are you going to keep on holding me in your arms?” Lisa asked without resisting his overflowing love.

“Until I get to fight!” Elliot asked, “Why? Don’t you like it?”

“It’s not that I don’t like it, but it’s just too embarrassing, master,” Lisa said, too shy to glance around.

“You can bite me if you like it, but I still won’t set you free,” Elliot replied.

“I will die out of embarrassment at this rate,” Lisa said, feeling heat rising to her ears.

“Weren’t you the one who proposed to me in front of an entire class?”

“That situation was different!” Lisa said to defend herself.

“Let’s just stay like this for a few minutes,” Elliot said, and Lisa nodded in agreement.

While looking at them, Linda bit her lips, feeling jealous of her rival as she got a good and powerful man before her.

“That bitch! I will teach her a lesson by killing her man in front of the entire crowd. I would only get a strike at most, but the devastated expression on her face would be worth it.”

Her strong desire to kill Elliot and sadden Lisa wasn’t without a reason. Lisa always got everything better than herself, from her family to her beauty, and that’s how Linda’s obsession with being better than Lisa turned into venomous desires that urged her to hurt and destroy her.

Meanwhile, Instructor Nina, the best teacher in the academy, too, felt shocked by the fight between the youngster, so shocked that she didn’t see her childhood friend being lovey-dovey with Lisa, once again. “Is this what a fight between magicians in the first two evolutionary stages looks like?”

Zach, the best alchemist in the academy shook his head and said, “I don’t think so!”

“This child is indeed impressive. The association didn’t lie. As long as we train him, he might become a powerful enough magician to stand side by side with the current four Emperors.” Headmaster Gerald said, thinking that he made a good choice in not going against instructor Leonardo’s decision to pick him up and enroll him in the academy despite his undeterminable background.

“Headmaster is right. Though, it still surprises me to see that Theo managed to stay undefeated for so long against Shawn, who has two supernatant abilities and is also a realm above him.” Instructor Nina said, a bit awed by the performance of the young man.

“Don’t hesitate to call me, grandpa,” Gerald said while gently looking at Nina.

Nina was making herself comfortable by his side because he was her maternal grandfather, someone who also likes to spoil her a lot.

“Yes, grandpa,” Nina said with a hint of respect in her voice.

“Ahem! You will be even more surprised once he gets serious.” Zach the Alchemist said with a mysterious surprise on his face.

Headmaster Gerald and Nina were both taken aback by his words, and they couldn’t help but ask, “What do you mean?”

“Didn’t Leo notify you guys about it?” Zach said while looking at them.

“Hmm?” Headmaster Gerald and Instructor Nina looked at him with eyes shimmering with curiosity.

Zack couldn’t say no to the curious look in their eyes that came as pitiful to him.

“Theo, not only does that boy have two different types of supernatural cells in his bloodstream, but his eyes are also special and act as his main source of strength. For now, he is sealing it by using those pairs of eyeglasses. But once he takes them off, Shawn wouldn’t stand a chance against him.” Zach the Alchemist explained to them.

“Is there a reason behind it?” Instructor Nina said in a voice with hints of confusion apparent, and one could see the same expression on her face.

“I heard it’s because it’s pretty taxing on his body, so he uses those special eyeglasses to seal off most of the strength of his eyes.” Zach the Alchemist exposed the reason behind

“I see.” Headmaster Gerald said while stroking his beard and looking g at Theo.

The battle continued once they restored their magic energy. This time Shawn kept on attacking to take him down, while Theo kept on going around in circles, dodging his attacks left and right.

“Is running around all you can do? Pretty pathetic for a magician who was once the strongest in the magical realm!” Shawn taunted Theo, trying to make him lose his temper and make a mistake in anger.

“Says the one who can’t even defeat a magician a whole evolutionary stage under him! Pretty pathetic for a magician in the channel opening stage, to say the least,” Theo retorted while looking down at Shawn.

“You cocky bastard, I am still not done yet!” Shawn’s words were seething with anger as he performed a few hand signs, channeling all of the magic energy into his magic matrix that provides an unending source of energy for his supernatural cells for ten minutes.

“You done?” Theo said out loud, telling him and everyone else that he intentionally waited for Shawn to activate his magic matrix.

“For the next ten minutes, I can use my powers as much as I want! This is the end for you!” Shawn said as he conjured one fireball after another, sending them at Theo.

Although Theo managed to dodge them, the explosion of the fireballs destroyed most of the arena and also set most of it on fire. The place he could stand on was not many, and it was getting lesser with each passing moment.

The onlookers thought that if he doesn’t end the fight soon, then he might lose!

“I bet you can’t keep on dodging for long!” Shawn said with a confident smile on his face, feeling as if he had already won this fight.

“I guess it’s time to break your pride!” Theo suddenly took off his pair of eyeglasses, revealing emerald eyes to Shawn.

“What’s so special about taking them off, huh? Do you think you would be able to turn the tides of the battle in your favor by just doing that? Hahaha!” Shawn laughed out loud as a large amount of fiery energy compressed in the center of his palm, taking the shape of a large ball of flame that shoots out several balls of flame towards Theo within a second.

Looking at the barrage of fireballs, Theo stood still for a brief moment before he teleported a few feet in front of Shawn, looking at him in the eyes and calmly said, “Dispel all the flames in our surroundings, stop using your superpower, and get on your knees!”

Each of his words fell on his mind like an irrefutable command, and in the blink of an eye, the flames in the arena disappeared, Shawn stopped using his powers and got on his knees, looking at his emerald eyes with no intention to resist whatsoever.
