Chapter 87: Theo vs Shawn (b)

As the sword charged towards Theo’s throat, the eyes of the onlooker widened in anticipation, and their mouths gaped open in horror. One could see that some were feeling scared for Theo’s sake while the others were looking forward to seeing some bloodshed.

Just when Shawn’s flame sword was merely a few inches away from slicing his throat, Theo’s teleportation supernatural cells suddenly consumed one-tenth of the magic energy in his body, allowing him to teleport by a short distance. Then, he teleported behind Shawn’s back.

Everything happened so fast that he left an afterimage in Shawn’s eyes. Shawn smiled as he watched his sword splitting apart Theo’s neck, but the smile on his face immediately vanished as the figure of his opponent blurred out of existence.

“What? Where did he go?” Shawn thought as he hurriedly looked to the left, then to the right in order to locate Theo. Yet, he didn’t see him, making him wonder just where did he disappear off to.

“Looking for me?” Theo leaned forward to say those words in his ears, and Shawn’s heart fell.

He hurriedly turned around, swinging the flame sword as he did so. Yet, Theo immediately teleported behind him, dodging it before conjuring two wooden spikes, clutching them in his hands and stabbing them in Shawn’s shoulders. The sharp ends of the spikes easily went into his flesh and branched out of the other sides, blood flowing out profusely.

“Gah!” Shawn screamed at the top of his lungs, crying out like a dying pig, as though someone was cutting his neck off his useless shoulders.

“You scream like a girl.” Theo taunted him before raising one of his legs and kicking him on the ass. The impact caused Shawn to be hurled forward by a few meters before falling flat on his face. He landed face-first on the ground, and thus, not only his nose shattered, but a few of his teeth also got knocked out.

“Instructor Leonardo, I think that loser is out cold,” Theo said out loud.

“I will count to ten, and if by then, he fails to get up the floor, then I’ll proclaim you as the winner.” Instructor Leonardo said.

“Please do that,” Theo said, motioning him to start counting.

“1!”

An instant after he started counting, Shawn mustered all his strength to raise his head, then his body, letting the onlooker see the big gap in between his teeth as well as the blood trickling out of the corner of his mouth.

He pulled out the two spikes from his shoulders, and his wounds close at a rate visible to the eyes.

“So, you even have the supernatural self-healing. Is that why you confidently picked a fight against me and stepped on my nerves?” Theo said while standing on his spot, as though it didn’t matter whether Shawn manages to heal himself or not.

While looking at Theo with an insidious gaze overflowing with insidious strength, he said, “Think what you may, You Cocky Bastard! But know this, I am going to show you hell for messing with me!”

Shawn’s supernatural cells devoured a large amount of magic energy in his body, then waves of flames manifested above the arena. With a single wave of the hand, a few of them rained down on Theo.

“You still have the strength to curse out loud? It seems like I went a bit too easy on you.” Theo said while dodging the four waves of flame by teleporting a few steps towards Shawn.

Sizzle!

The waves of flame melted the ground behind him, melting most of the arena and setting it on fire before spread outwards and twirling towards Theo from all four sides.

A large amount of wood burst out of Theo’s palm, spreading around him to create a dome that enclosed him inside itself, protecting him from the approaching deadly fiery waves.

The flames waves crashed on the wooden dome, melting open many openings in it, causing fire to seep inside of it.

However, by that time, Theo was no longer there! Instead, he had teleported above Shawn’s head.

“I ain’t letting you get close to me this time!” Shawn said when he noticed that Theo was plunging down straight towards him. He created a defensive boundary around him, turning his surroundings into a sea of flame.

“Cheap tricks,” Theo said as he conjured a platform made out of wood in mid-air, stepped on it, then jumped away from the sea of flame, landing on one edge of the arena.

He immediately conjured four wooden spears and hurled them at Shawn.

Whoosh

The spears cut through the air as they swiftly made their way towards him.

“Hmph!” Shawn immediately acted, summoning four fire arrows and shooting them at his wooden spikes, intercepting them mid-way, setting them on aflame, turning them to ashes in mere seconds, speckles of dust getting carried along with the gentle wind.

The two looked at each other while inhaling the magic energy in the surrounding, trying to refill magic energy into their bodies.

“How about we continue after restoring our magic energy?” Shawn said while looking at Theo.

“That’s if you don’t suddenly attack me,” Theo replied, gasping for magic energy.

Meanwhile, the crowd exploded into a commotion.

“Wow!” John said, totally amazed by the way Theo fought against his opponent.

“Damn, the exchanges between them were too cool!” Elliot said, feeling that this fight was far better than his own. It might be because his opponent was too weak when compared to him.

“Master, they wrecked the entire arena! What if they delay the tournament to fix it? What are we going to do about it, then?” Lisa said while looking at the half-destroyed arena.

“It will revert back to its original condition after the fight ends,” Elliot said in a confident voice, knowing full well that instructor Leonardo could restore the arena by using his magic matrix, which allows him to revert things to their original condition as long as he provides an appropriate and equivalent amount of magic energy to his magic matrix.
