Chapter 32
C32 – It Was Stealing the Spirit Power of Jiang Que
“What’s happening?”
Within just a few minutes, someone noticed something peculiar about the miniature ferocious beast.
“Check out the Spirit Power readings on the Scanner. There are faint traces of Spirit Power seeping from Jiang Que’s Qi Sea.”
“Moreover, the Spirit Power is leaking outside his body, and it’s all being siphoned off by the miniature ferocious beast lying next to him.”
“That’s exactly what’s happening. The Scanner shows that all the Spirit Power leaking from Jiang Que’s Qi Sea is being absorbed and converted into energy by the miniature ferocious beast.”
“It’s siphoning off Jiang Que’s Spirit Power!”
“Damn, does this mean Jiang Que’s cultivation speed will decrease?”
“Not necessarily. The miniature ferocious beast is absorbing just a few strands of Spirit Power, which hardly impacts Jiang Que’s cultivation.”
“What in the world is this creature? It can actually absorb someone else’s energy and use it for itself?”
The viewers in the live broadcast were completely baffled.
In the Milky Way, there’s no shortage of ferocious beasts with a myriad of bizarre abilities.
Yet, there had never been a miniature ferocious beast that took thousands of years to hatch and was still in its juvenile stage at Level 1.
Even more bizarre, despite being a mere Level 1 ferocious beast, it possessed the unique ability to absorb others’ Spirit Power for its own use.
Could there be an issue with the Chaos Spell?
After comfortably sleeping beside Jiang Que for over two hours, Jiang Que’s brow furrowed slightly.
He had sensed a faint Spirit Power leaking from his Qi Sea in a specific direction two hours earlier but hadn’t been concerned.
The leakage was so minimal that it seemed inconsequential to his cultivation.
However, as time went on, he couldn’t ignore it any longer.
This might not be a short-term anomaly but rather an overlooked flaw in the Chaos Spell.
After a moment’s hesitation, he ceased his cultivation.
He was about to revisit the Chaos Spell’s incantation and the Method Circulating Scroll when he made a startling discovery.
Even though he had stopped cultivating, traces of Spirit Power continued to flow from his Qi Sea in a particular direction.
He couldn’t resist glancing down towards the source of the leaking Spirit Power.
There, he spotted the miniature ferocious beast, comfortably snoozing beside him.
“Jiang Que must have sensed that something’s amiss.”
“This miniature ferocious beast dared to steal Jiang Que’s Spirit Power. It’s as good as dead.”
“It’s so adorable, though. I bet Jiang Que will keep it as a pet. Besides, the stolen Spirit Power doesn’t really affect his cultivation.”
“I wish I were in its place, then I could be Jiang Que’s pet.”
“Are you kidding? Knowing Jiang Que’s temperament, how could he possibly keep it as a pet? He’d rather kill it.”
“Everyone says Jiang Que is a formidable leader, arguing that he wouldn’t share the improved Chaos Spell with us to maintain his authority and prestige. Yet, he ended up teaching it to us.”
“Jiang Que isn’t just incredibly talented, strikingly handsome, diligent, and smart; he also possesses a kindness that’s rare among ordinary folks. He’s definitely going to keep such an endearing little creature as a pet.”
“If Jiang Que doesn’t kill this miniature ferocious beast and instead takes it in as a pet, I’ll do a handstand!”
As Jiang Que noticed the anomaly, the viewers in the live stream began to argue heatedly.
Inside the cabin, Jiang Que rose to his feet and took a few steps.
He checked his Qi Sea once more and, as expected, the Spirit Power had ceased to overflow.
Yet, the miniature ferocious beast seemed to sense something was off.
Its plump body wriggled a few times, rolling towards Jiang Que.
It then hit the ground and came to, waking up.
Its tiny eyes snapped open, scanning the surroundings. Upon spotting Jiang Que, it joyfully moved closer to him.
Settling at Jiang Que’s feet, it stretched lazily and, incredibly, drifted back to sleep.
Jiang Que discovered, once again, that wisps of Spirit Power were seeping out of his Qi Sea.
The direction of the dissipating Spiritual Energy was precisely where the miniature ferocious beast lay.
Jiang Que was instantly infuriated.
“You still dare to steal my Spirit Power!”
As he lifted his right foot, his Spirit Power surged, concentrating at his toes.
With a swift kick, he struck the miniature ferocious beast.
The creature emitted a piercing shriek.
It was sent flying, crashing into the sturdy wooden wall, and then it was no more.
Jiang Que delivered a kick that deformed the creature.
He then returned to his wooden bed, sat cross-legged, and resumed his cultivation.
In the live broadcast room, all the female viewers were left speechless.
“Jiang Que would never let that miniature ferocious beast go; he might even make it his pet.”
“Exactly! It dared to steal Jiang Que’s Spirit Power. If Jiang Que weren’t concerned about wasting time, he might have reduced it to ashes.”
The male viewers in the live broadcast room were enthusiastically discussing the event.
“Still, we’re essentially stealing Jiang Que’s cultivation method. If he ever finds out, do you think he’d be angry enough to kill us?”
This unexpected question suddenly silenced the entire live broadcast room.
“I think he wouldn’t be too upset,” someone countered.
“Right. We’re just learning Jiang Que’s cultivation method secretly, which doesn’t harm him, so he shouldn’t be angry.”
“The miniature ferocious beast, on the other hand, was stealing Jiang Que’s Spirit Power. Even a small amount constitutes a loss for him.”
“Plus, we’re part of the same Human Race as Jiang Que. He surely won’t treat us like he would a miniature ferocious beast.”
“Moreover, Jiang Que has made tremendous contributions to humanity. Once he can no longer create new cultivation methods, he’s bound to be granted amnesty. By then, we’ll surely compensate him adequately.”
“Indeed. I think we could bestow upon Jiang Que the title of Lifetime Achievement for Humanity. We could erect statues in his honor on every Life Planet under Human Race control, celebrating his contributions to our species!”
Rebuttals quickly followed.
Everyone was attempting to justify their covert learning of the cultivation methods, including those who had initially raised doubts.
They had all learned the Chaos Spell and intended to keep doing so.
After all, the cultivation method Jiang Que had developed was irresistibly alluring.
If they could break through to Spirit Release Stage Level 1, their lifespans would extend to 240 years—an offer too tempting to refuse.
While everyone was distracted, the lifeless and deformed miniature ferocious beast in the corner of the wooden house began to eerily revert to its original form.
Simultaneously, the chest of the miniature ferocious beast began to rise and fall gently.
