Volume 2 Chapter 69: I Understand Now
They were making four times as much with this job! Keith also added, "I will also provide housing too."
"Housing is included!" Housing was important as well. A day at a good inn would cost around one silver or above!
"I can't believe it."
"I want to work here."
The workers were interested. Even Ralph was tempted by the offer. It was too good to pass up.
Keith nodded, "Good. Then I guess I should teach you how to bake bread,"
"Before we do that, I want you guys to sign a contract of silence," Gus stated as he took out a scroll from his pocket,
"Hmm? Is that necessary?" Keith tilted his head. The contract of silence wasn't a contract but more like a curse. Those who signed it were forbidden to say anything written on the paper.
Those who break this contract will face punishment.
"We need it. I don't want any of the boss's secrets to be revealed. Even if we're friends, I don't want anyone to expose it." William was the one who asked him to do this.
And Gus was in agreement.
"I agree."
"We should do something like that."
"It's to be expected." Ralph and the others understood why they were doing this. The five signed the contract. When they did, a mark formed on their hand for a second before disappearing.
"Alright, let me teach you how to bake some bread." Keith was excited as he explained the bread he would teach them to bake.
While he was doing this, the workers were attentive, listening to all his words.
Ralph's eyes widened by Keith's explanation. The way Keith made the bread was unimaginable! He turned to Gus, who had a smirk on his face.
No wonder he said he was his boss.
"I taught you all how to make a few of them. Can you guys do it?" Keith stated. It was their turn to do it by themselves.
"Yes!" "We can do it!" "It's simple now with your explanation." The workers said with a gusto expression.
Keith nodded, "Good, I will leave you guys to it. Also, you guys will practice for a few weeks in the estate."
Since he got the workers, he needed to work on the bakery!
"Understood, Boss!" Ralph and the rest nodded their heads. Keith nodded and left. Ralph turned to Gus,
"I get it now. Your boss is amazing." Keith was incredible. There was nothing else that could describe him.
Keith was thorough as he taught them how to bake bread.
He was calmly explaining it to everyone here. Even when they were doing it wrong, he would correct them.
"He's different from all the other bosses I worked for."
"Yeah!"
"I'm glad to have him as a boss!"
The other workers added.
"Yeah!" Like that, they started to work. Gus smiled.
Boss is such a smart person.
...
While this happened, Keith headed to the farm,
"Logan, how are you guys doing?!" Keith waved his hands at everyone there.
"We're doing great, Boss!"
"Yeah!" Another farmer added. While Keith talked with the farmers, the spirits flew up to him,
"Keith, can we get some fruit?"
"Of course! Take as many as you want." Keith smiled. He didn't mind the spirits taking it. As he looked at the farm, it was incredible.
They have decided to make it next to the forest. That way, the fairies could get here, and there was no need for human interactions.
"Logan, are you guys having trouble with producing the sugar?"
Logan shook his head, "No. There's no problem. Actually, it should be finished by tomorrow."
"That's great! Thank you for the hard work!"
Logan shook his head, "We should be the ones thanking you. You gave us a job and good food as well."
But a dirty smirk formed, "That Michael! How dare he hide this from us."'
Logan used to be the commander of the knights for the Freed estate. He was also Michael's mentor. Michael had asked some retired knights to work on the farm.
"I feel like you can still work as the commander," Keith commented. From what Michael said, Logan was stronger than him! And he wasn't talking about the past. He was still stronger than him!
"No. Let that energetic monster do it. It should teach that fool about control and duty," Logan laughed,
"And I don't think I can return after staying here." Logan and the other retired knights had decided.
That was to stay here and eat their fill! The work was simple, and they could get delicious food!
This job was incredible!
"Just remember to pace yourself. And be careful of monsters," Keith smiled. They were right next to the forest. Monsters were bound to come.
"You don't have to worry about us. We'll destroy any monster that comes our way!" Logan and the retired knights roared out in unison.
"I see."
