A Child Turned Into A Soldier

Chapter 47: Beyond The Grave

Chapter 47: Beyond The Grave

"You're right, dang it why didn't I think of such a thing when it was that obvious? That doesn't matter right now, thank you Azrail for bringing that up." The prodigy thanked me and tapped my back a couple of times.

Him touching me made me sick to my stomach, but I just decided to move on from it.

The tension was no longer inside of the room, we had been talking for quite a while and it would seem this discussion would continue. While they were still thinking about something I decided to take my leave.

"I'll be leaving now, I still got stuff to do." I ended up sounding quite rude by accident, it seemed my emotions were starting to spill out.

"Oh alright.....Alexander do you have to leave as well?" The princess asked in what seemed to be a saddened tone.

"No I have plenty of time, I would still like to discuss a couple of things with you and maybe bounce some ideas off as well."

I walked over to the door and left the room, I wasn't all that worried about Alexander's safety anymore as it seemed they truly wanted to work something out.

Plus, after he touched me, it seemed to cause quite the stir on my mental state.

I was better off leaving at that point rather than causing a mistake that would lead to ruining that entire conversation. Progress was made though, which was all that mattered.

Once I left the Elves dorm building, I felt that multiple eyes were on me. I couldn't see where they were, but I knew they could see me.

I was a bit annoyed with how obvious they made it, but I really did have things to do. I wanted to look for a job for the rest of the day as this was something very important to my foundation. These clowns weren't going to stop me from doing that.

'It's not like they can do anything anyway, I'll be walking around the capital which surely has many citizens wandering about so safety shouldn't be a concern.'

I continued my way through the campus, I managed to find only knights throughout my entire walk.

I made it to the giant front gates of the academy, the gates stood over 100 yards tall and were pure white. I also saw the giant wall which surrounded the entire campus.

The campus itself was also massive in size, it spread out for miles with a giant wall surrounding it.

The wall was clearly made out of stone, but it had those same complicated runes engraved into them. This was obviously a defensive measure and quite a large one at that. Who knows how much time it took them to build such a masterpiece.

The gate itself is also very unique, once you leave the academy the gate will have you in something called a database. Supposedly it is able to recognize your aura which makes the gate open by itself.

As I walked up to the gate, I felt a foreign mana forcefully enter my body then vanish in an instant.

I saw that gate slowly started to open; no noise was heard whatsoever from the gate which was shocking. I did however feel like I wasn't being watched anymore which made me cheer up a bit.

With the gates fully opened I decided to make my way to the capital.

Making my way past the gates I saw an arrangement of beautifully colored trees; it was like every color was shown and it made for an amazing view. An extremely wide staircase made its way down the entire mountain.

The academy was supposedly built on a mountain, this was how they were able to make it so large without taking land away from their citizens. The rulebook had gone over some details like this, maybe to perhaps impress us or give a warning.

As I was walking down each step, I couldn't help but simply admire the beauty of these trees. I have never seen anything like this before and it was very peaceful since no one was around.

I was never a social person, so things like this did help ease my mind. I remember my times starving in the mountains alone, yet I was way happier there than I was in the city.

Once I was halfway down, I noticed a tree that had multiple colors on it that were glowing.

I walked up to the tree and found myself staring at it, the colors were a dark bloody red, a light shiny blue, and a mysterious purple which looked misty. The most bizarre part was the colors would rotate around constantly, as if they were fighting each other for dominance.

I just couldn't help but watch this fight, no it was more of like a dance being performed.

'Wipe that stupid smile off your face.' A voice that I haven't heard in years sounded out in my head.

My body had started to tremble, my prior peace of mind was shattered into pieces. I turned my head slightly to the right to see a 12 year old boy looking at the same tree I was.

The boy was in old baggy clothes that had rips and tears all over them. The kid didn't even have shoes on showing he had lived a hard life.

This kid was a friend of mine in the past.

'That's better, you had that same dumb smile when you had saw your mother again. Man, I remembered all the times you use to say to me how much you hated her. After all, she's mainly the reason you had gotten kidnapped in the first place, but it seems like you have forgotten all of that just like you forgot all of us.'

"I didn't forget any of you, it was merely time to move on from it. Also it wasn't my mother's fault, I was just a dumb kid looking for someone easy to blame."

'Oh really, tell me then hotshot how did our dead bodies look? Were we looking good when you blew us up? I mean dude you literally were crying your ass off while trying to look for our dead bodies to confirm our deaths. How does that even make sense? Why'd you cry when you were the one who did it dumbass?'

I didn't have any response to give, I merely stood there and accepted the fact that I was simply going crazy.

'No answer huh dumbass? Awhhhhhhhh are you perhaps sad? No, no maybe you're angry? Hey, tell me how you are feeling right now Mr I moved on. OOO man I know that face, you're fucking pissed right now aren't you? What are you going to do hit me? Guess what dumbass you can't, I'm dead remember!

Or wait, am I dead? Maybe I'm real? Am I your inner thoughts or a ghost? Tell me dumbass just what the hell am I. Awh man this sure is fucked up isn't it.'

I was just staring at my friend while he was running off his mouth, he was always an energetic guy. He was quite social as well, he could talk to just about anyone no matter who it was.

Even if he was my friend, he always knew how to piss me off. It was to the point where I knew he was just masking his real intentions, all of us were back then we had no other choice but to. None of us were real friends, our masked identities were.

This is why I made that decision, to simply kill them all.
