A Child Turned Into A Soldier

Chapter 46: Apologizes

Chapter 46: Apologizes

The princess and her one female friend had sat across from us, I was facing her friend while Alexander was facing the princess.

Everyone else had simply stood behind the two of them like they were guards. The tension was quite high, but that simply made me more alert and hyper aware of any movement.

We were all seated in a relatively relaxed positions, I decided to follow along as to not disturb the current peace.

"So then Alexander what were the problems that you mentioned earlier?"

"Well you see the first problem was that it seemed two of my people had looked at you in a lustful way, your brother had noticed that and this is what lead to the second problem. You see your brother had decided to confront the two who had looked at you in such a way. He had beaten the two of them quite badly and was about to go a step further by burning them, but Azrail had arrived and stopped him. Here Azrail you can explain your side of the story now." He stated calmly, he did not stutter once or lose his rhythm during the explanation.

"Your brother was about to burn them, but for some reason he had closed his eyes during that process. I quickly knocked out both of his friends and managed to move the two humans. He and I did exchange words, yet as I was leaving he attempted to attack me.

Once I felt that I did launch my assault, it was only a single body shot and I did squeeze his head quite a bit. I am sorry for what I did, my emotions had gotten to me." I managed to say while looking at the women who I feared.

Silence, there was utter silence after what I said. The group all had their eyes on the princess waiting for her words. She had closed her eyes and slightly put her head down.

I sensed her mana start to fluctuate, this action alone sent danger signals to my entire body.

I started to move my body into a more offensive position rather than a relaxed one, but Alexander had looked over to me and shook his head. I decided to listen to him and stopped my movements.

"See Lucy, I told you to stop babying him or else something like this was going to happen. He should never have come here in the first place." The Elf who was sitting next to the princess states as she had her hand on the princess's back.

It seemed the princesses name was Lucy, it did seem though that her friend's words broke through to her as her mana levels started to go back to normal.

"I know okay, I know.... You two don't have to be apologizing for this, it would seem it was my brother who started this mess. I swear he is a good person, it's just that he listens to the wrong people. I will make sure to talk to him about this so it doesn't happen again."

"It is alright, we also have faults of our own. My people should have never looked at you like that in the first place. I just did not want to have this ruin our attempt at amending relations. I know our races both hold a lot of hate for each other, but I believe we are the generation that changes that."

'So he's being honest with them huh, I see. It is hard to build something off deception. I wonder how they will react though....'

Yet again the room was silent, the princess was staring at Alexander. It seemed she was trying to get a read on his emotions if I had to guess. The others as well were all staring at him, it was at this point where the real conversation begins.

"You truly mean that don't you? Do you know how hard it would be to do such a thing, clearly not if you believe one mere generation can mend years of what your race did to ours." The princess's words angered me quite a bit, the way she speaks on what happened makes it seem like they didn't do anything wrong.

"We are the future for our kingdoms and nations, our generation is very unique in this factor. Believe me I know full well how hard it will be for our races to fully see eye to eye, but that doesn't mean we simply give up. Change will always require effort and grit, we must be the ones to start this process as the younger generation doesn't contain the hate that the older generation does."

Alexander spoke like a true poet, overall it seemed like he taken his father's diplomatic ability. He replied back quickly and did not let her comments get to him.

"I do agree with you on that aspect, I want there to be change as well since too many people have died. How would we accomplish such a task though, the only ideas I came up with were marriage which forces the change."

What the princess had said caused her group to react in shock, it seemed that idea was never once considered in their minds.

This didn't shock me all that much though since my instructor basically advised to accomplish the same thing. Marriage would defiantly force the change, but only if the right individuals were to marry one another. It had to be people who were in positions of power.

'However, such a forceful change may cause the other major races to do the same, it's far too dangerous to attempt it that way.'

"That was also an idea I had as well, it also had the highest success rate. I know that the other nations have also agreed to attempt this way as well. Obviously forcing marriages will not be tolerated, but if you are able to build a connection with the other party, I believe this idea is worth a shot. "

The prodigy next to me dropped a shellshock, it seemed that everyone was too stunned to speak. I hated to get involved in such a conversation, but I had to make sure this wasn't the plan.

"Alexander that plan can't happen, I think you're forgetting that there are two other major races at this academy. If word spreads out about humans and Elves marrying each other this will force them to make a move as well. The plan is too dangerous."

I looked at him hoping that the guy would see my point, but it looked like the opposite had happened.

"Why would they even care about such matters? By my knowledge are relationship with both of them is neutral, there would be no reason for something like this to alarm them to such a degree that they would change their ways."

"You're wrong, this isn't simply humans and Elves forming bonds. This is two major races becoming allies, meaning if another major race declares war on us then the Elves would be a part of this as well. The balance would be broken, which will also force them to react."

It seemed like not only was Alexander surprised, but the princess was as well. I couldn't blame them though as they were solely too focused on mending our relationships.

This is why every leader has multiple advisors, you can't think of everything by yourself after all.
